Last fall my sister went to the beach with DD and I. She was about 2 seconds away from buying DD (then 3 months) a pair of Crocs. A couple of weeks later I went to the store and they had some generic crocs there on clearance so I grabbed a pair for later. Well it looks like they may end up fitting for our December trip. Today my sister informed me that she and our mother are going to be getting Crocs to match DDs for our trip. DDs are pastel pink and white swirl so this could be quite interesting to see.

Just a heads-up, but please be very very careful with your DD's feet and generic Crocs.

When the Croc fad first hit, I bought my DD5 (then 2-ish) a pair of generic Crocs. My thought: Pay $30 for a pair of rubber kids's shoes?? No way!! Not when I can get them at WalMart for less than $10!

My bad. Within a few days her poor feet were literally shredded. :sad2: Feet all ripped up on the sides with torn-open blisters. Turns out, on most generic Crocs, its the rivets that cause problems. Real Crocs have a way of "setting" the rivets so they are almost inset in the side of the shoe. generic Crocs do not. If you run your fingers over the insides of the shoes where the rivets are, you will probably be able to feel the hard sharp edges of the rivets. That will cause blisters soooo fast.

Just a warning, because I wouldn't want another baby to suffer with the blisters like mine did. :sad1:

That's so weird! I bought the Airwalks brand of Crocs in 2005 and never had a problem with them. Likewise, my mom is constantly buying them Halloween ones and Tinkerbell ones and whatever at WalMart. Good idea to check it out tho!! Also, Crocs.com frequently offers Disney crocs for $14.99 + free shipping.

:-D

I don't think the Airwalks from Payless have that problem. My kids have been wearing them for years and both prefer Airwalks to Crocs. (They are 6 and 8.) I, on the other hand, must have the real thing :)

Probably not all imitation Crocs have this issue. After seeing my DD's feet, and discovering what the problem was, I started feeling around inside every Croc-type shoe I found, and could almost always "feel" the rivets. When I discovered that real Crocs didn't give her blisters, I never looked back. My wallet was sad, but her feet were happy. :rotfl:

Just something to be aware of! Hope you have a great trip! :thumbsup2

If you go to crocs.com, they have kids mickey head crocs for $9.99 a pair with $4.99 shipping no matter how much you order. If you order $90, they will give you free shipping. I ordered my boys each a pair of the mickey head crocs for our upcoming Disney trip. They are in the outlet section. Some colors have limited styles, but I was still able to find some for my boys.

We had a similar issue with the fake crocs (but even a few pair of real ones did the same thing). The rivets on the side caused blisters on my son's feet. He had a pair from payless, walmart and a mickey pair all do it. I just solved the problem by putting electrical tape over the rivets on the inside (or he wore socks with them). Now that he is older (6) it seems he can wear the dawgz from CVS or crocs without the problem. Haven't tried the others since he was 4 or so.

If you search google for free shipping codes for crocs.com you'll almost always find one w/ no minimum purchase...I usually have luck on www.retailmenot.com for my codes. :) Crocs.com doesn't charge tax either...I imagine in some states they may have to, but I've never paid tax having them shipped to NY.
