of meals are too small! He and his wife and 2 kids are there now. He posted that the reports of portion sizes have been over-rated. I've always found the portion sizes to be huge. I asked him where he ate but he didn't respond yet. What do you think?

See, I know everyone has different opinions, but I've always found the portions large, as well. I'm slightly curious of where he ate.

The portion sizes at Disney are definitely not too small. How big of a guy is he? If your on the dinning plan your practically eating every 3 to 4 hrs and for me THAT is too much

Our concept of normal portions in our country is very skewed. Unless Disney has started scaling back their portion sizes....:confused3
We always find them large, and always share!

They got the QS Dining plan. Yeah, we usually share too! And the one time we got the DDP, we couldn't finish everything. It was just too much.

Always found them fairly large also. usually split between two of us for CS.

I've always found the food at disney to have large portion sizes. My mother and I often split one meal. Really curious to see what this guy ate. I'm pretty confused....:confused3

We're doing the QS Dining Plan this upcoming trip and I'm expecting to spend a ton of credits the day we leave because I know we won't use them all. Every Counter service meal I've ever had has been HUGE! I never eat all of it, and usually take my cookie/dessert to eat later. (I also predict having a huge supply of choc chip cookies at the end of our next trip.)
On a related note, we had a very cool new restaurant open in my city last year. All I have heard is people complaining about the portion sizes. So, we went one night and I was amazed. I know I live in the "meat and potatoes South", but I couldn't finish my meal and never have when I have been.

Particularly at counter service I've always thought the portions were generous. My daughter gets fries with her burger, I get apple slices. We share the fries and have apples for dessert.

I always thought the portions were large! I've always wished that Disney would scale down the sizes a bit...simply to avoid the incredible amount of food wasted daily.

I've always thought they were large! They are definately MORE THAN A SERVING SIZE!!! The ONLY restaurant we've not been happy with (serving size) is the Mexican one in Epcot- we thought they were too small. That may have just been OUR experiance though. EVERYWHERE else we've eatten (a lot of places!!!!), the serving sizes are huge.

I can never finish a meal at Disney, especially on the dining plan when you have that stupid dessert following you everywhere.

Hmmm sizing down? :confused3

I have always felt they were on the big size actually. Curious where he ate to give that impression?

Maybe Disney scaled back portion sizes? Can't imagine they'd get many complaints if they did. Seems like most people have so much left it goes to waste.

FWIW, I have always found the portion sizes to be on the smaller side as well. (OTOH, I eat a lot - I have a pretty high metabolism to start with, and running 30+ miles per week, plus biking, weights, etc leave me always on the hungry side.)

I fully admit that I am an aberration though - my wife thinks the portion sizes are fine, as long as you skip appetizer or dessert, and one of my SIL needs to split almost any meal she gets with someone, or else throw half of it out. Generally, we compromise, and many of our CS meals are buffets.

Why do you get the dining plan?

DH and I usually just get a double hamburger (DH sometimes) or hamburger each and that is all. No need for fries twice a day. Sometimes we get the apple slices, but not all the time. Usually the burgers with toppings are enough.

Ok..so I just found out they ate at the food court at POP last night and that's what he was responding to. Depending on what he got, I can see why he might think they were smaller portions. His wife said she thought that breakfast this morning may have changed his mind. ;)
