Hello everyone,
I wanted to introduce myself. I am a personal good friend and past co-worker to Low-Key, Pop Daddy, or as I called him Jay SUN. Whoever he is to you I can see how much he was loved on these boards and was everyone's friend. Jason talked highly about these boards and would tell me stories about how he would banter with some, cheer others on, and always try to provide laughter. He often tried to bring me to the boards but I never did get around to checking them out, well, until now.
I met Jason years ago when he and I worked together for the Housing Authority in our area and he and I had an instant connection. He realized quickly he did not have to play the "professional" role around me and we became fast friends. We laughed daily. Jason was seriously the funniest person I ever met. A huge flirt with a big heart! And he taught me so much about classic music and lyrics and songs that, through the eyes of Jason, I grew to love. He made all his co-workers laugh and laugh. Everyone loved Jason. He was always so kind and always had a smile on his face. Even during the Cancer SCARE Days. He was the greatest! And let me tell you, if You think he was funny online, he was hilarious in person. He never just sat and told you a story he would get up move around and give you an actual theatrical play by play of events. He would get me laughing so hard I would have tears streaming down my face. When Jason retired, I seriously felt lost in the work place but thankfully we continued our friendship.
I am close with one of Jason’s family members and the morning Jason died, Friday 1/21/2022, she reached out immediately to let me know for she knew how valuable a friend he was to me and wanted me aware he had not made it through the night. I was (and am) devastated, as I know many of you are as well.
Jason had some recent health problems going on and had been hospitalized for a few weeks until his death. Jason was a fighter and he fought as hard as he could in the hospital. After I heard the news, I felt a calling to these boards. The boards he would tell me so much about many years ago. I guess something brought it to mind, maybe Jason himself if you believe in the supernatural and that sort of thing.
I want you all to know how much he loved these boards and all of you. You all were his family. A place he could go to get away, feel safe, and have fun. It has been so heartwarming to read all of your posts and hear your stories. Keep em coming!
In honor of Jason I chose the screen name “Key-Note” not only to match Jason’s “low-key” format, but because in my life he was my “key-note” of laughter and kindness. By definition a keynote is “a prevailing tone or central theme”. When I was having a bad day I would purposely get around Jason or call Jason because I knew he would bring my tears of sadness to tears of laughter. Man, I am going to miss my friend. So many stories I could tell, lol, but from all of your stories I can already see Jason rolling his eyes at this “LONG POST” so I will go for now but want to thank you all for such a community of love. I can see why Jason joined 20some years ago..and stayed. Much love to you all
In tribute to Jason, here is a song I had never heard of and Jason made me sit and listen to it on our lunch break, and when this song was over, I had a new favorite "classic" song..thanks to my friend. I love you, Jay SUN! Until we meet again
