Popadon will be going home tomorrow. The Chest tubes came out today so he is feeling so much better.

Great update! F&W is my favorite time to go. I LOVE the Figment hoodie. Good choice. I'm so ready to go back. I'm a passholder too. I'm used to going several times a year. I got laid off from my job of 20+ years a week or two after I got back from my May trip. So, I decided to wait a bit before planning another this year. Thankfully I'm employed again and will have vacation time again in a few months. I'm trying to plan something now

It's my favorite time to go. It's a difficult time of year for me to get off, but I made it work this time.

I'm so sorry you were laid off! That's just terrible, but I'm glad that you are employed again.

I have made a form of Booyah when the kids were little and I was home and not working. It takes time to make it so I haven't done it for many years. Danielle is right about my French.... I think it's a mental block still to this day. We were required to learn it in school and hated having to.

I do not remember, but I'm sure you did.

Great pictures of the studio. I love the way they redesigned those rooms. They look SO much better. Love the view from your little patio. I'm not usually a fan of the first floor but it looks really cute down there.

I love the grapefruit beer. It is the best. Stella is my new favorite Epcot beer. I kept buying it over in England. It was the perfect temperature. So refreshing.

Isn't that gratin amazing! I love it. I'm so glad they have a version of it permanently though.

And the answer is a resounding YES for teh invite for the Belgium Waffles and fries. Especially after seeing all of your pictures of those scrumptious things. Plus...we like the company.

So interesting. I haven't had booyah yet... Apparently it's only acceptable to eat it from Catholic Church picnics and I'm not catholic---so. I know that the word comes to a kind of slang for the French verb for "to boil".

Up here I've heard that you can sometimes get a batch with mystery meat.. That scares me a bit. What would you want to see at the Belgian booth instead of waffles? What is the quintessential Belgian food?

For me, fries is something that they should have at the booth and they should bring back the mussels. They could do stovlees too, which is like a meat stew basically. But to us, Belgium means fries. They're everywhere when you visit the country. Booths where you can get them. Sooooo good.

I like that "taste your way around the world" boarder on your EPCOT PP picture, hadn't seen that one before but definitely fits how we like to tour EPCOT

I liked that option! It appears only during F&W I believe, so I had to make sure I picked it as a border.

I'd say you truly haven't experienced the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival until you have photographed your food resting on a garbage can

I think overall Disney has stepped up their beer selection, but that is a bit disappointing what they have at the Belgium booth ... I mean, can we get some St. Bernardus or Gulden Draak or even some Duvel or something?

OMG right?! There are so many options out there! I think they want to stick with stuff on tap normally, but still.

all the waffels look really good! Be cool if they did some mussel pots or something one year as well

They did mussels the first year that the Belgium booth was introduced. I happened to be at F&W that year and tried them. I wish they would bring them back again.

Thanks! I really enjoy the new camera, I'm so glad that I got it. This time I'm going to use my telephoto lens though. I didn't on the New Years trip because I wanted to learn to use the camera before I started switching lenses out.

I am seeing quite a few new items at F & W and well as always some old favorites.

I think you did a great job of getting around the world once you were IN EPCOT.

Hooray for the figment hoodie, that is so cute. Great thinking on the receipt instead of the card. I think after that long of a wait to get the AP I would have forgotten about the card too.

I was in VWL in Aug and had the murphy bed not lock back in when I had to take a look at it. The latch on one side would pop back up.

I like the fact that they keep items at F&W and then try new things. I know that there are certain things that people expect to see each time they go, but I definitely like change and variety.

OMG, didn't it take forever for us to get there though? Seriously.

I love the hoodie! So glad I got it. It will definitely be coming with me on the PHM trip.

The Germany beer looks great, but agree the food not so much. What's up with the bratwurst to bun ratio - seems way off. But oh how I love the grapefruit beer. Sounds weird, but oh so good. And that waffle looks amazing. How did I miss that on our trip?

That's because in Germany they don't need no stinking buns!

Oh, the glorious figment ride. We had to ride that lovely attraction at least 5 times last trip per my daughters request. I still can't believe there is never a line for one of the most up to date attractions in all the world ; ) Love the hoodie. Will have to see about getting her one next time, or better yet the hubby.

Apparently the line for Imagination got up to 45 minutes over Christmas. Crazy!

I still can't believe with all the "magic" of the magic band you still have to carry an annual pass around. Seems they could find a way to see you have one from the band alone.

Oh, wilderness lodge. Stayed for the first time last trip and completely fell in love. Is that a view of the bus stop from your room???

I still always carry my card around, just in case something doesn't work, but yeah you still have to carry it to get your discounts, which I think is stupid. But they also want to check your ID too, so I think it's more to prevent you from passing your discount around.

That was the view of the bus stop, yup.

Mmmm, SO MUCH F&W! Everything looks so so good. All the Belgian waffles, YUM! The Bratwurst and the Noodle Gratin look delicious. Uggghhh, I need to go next year. One way or another I must go.

Timmy, you definitely have to go to F&W at some point soon. And then make sure you go again when you're able to drink. Who knows, WHEN you get into the college program, you could be there sooner than you think.

It seems that everyone uses garbage cans as tables during F&W! We certainly did and the CM's keep them pretty clean.

DH and I are huge fans of those Belgian beers. So we would probably like the others that you mntioned?

I know several people who LOVED the Leek Waffle, but I just couldn't get over the fact that it was savory and not sweet. I swear i'll try it one day!

I think you have to! Otherwise you have to do the eat standing up thing, and that just never works out how you want it to.

I think you definitely would. A lot of the beers I mentioned have darker beers, which are my favorite. Duvel is a favorite of mine and so is St. Bernardus. I highly recommend those.

Definitely try the leek waffle, it was amazing.

I just returned to teaching this past September and love it, but Food and Wine is the one thing that's making me regret that decision, haha. I can't imagine being a local and having an AP and being able to be like, "Hungry? Wanna eat at some booths?" I know I wouldn't be able to try many things unless I had a good group of people with me who were willing to share!

Hahaha, yeah it's difficult for me to make it too with budgeting at my job. I have to hit the final weekend to make it.

We had the Belgium waffle with meat (forgot what it was called) and it was delicious. We enjoyed ourselves so much last October that we booked a bounce back reservation for this upcoming October. Now I can try some of those delicious things that I missed the first time.

That was my favorite one! Not that I didn't like the sweet waffles, but they definitely balanced each other out.

Yay! Glad you're going back. I wish I could.

Your dad is a RIOT. He reminds me a lot of my own dad, who is older and would never be that uninhibited in public, but at least they have a physical resemblance.

I also love your Disney Jamberry nails!! I just discovered Jams last summer (through a friend who started selling); I'm working now on what I'll order for my spring trip in May. Haven't decided on a theme yet. It might be "Tangled."

Thanks! I tried to have my friend design me some tangled ones, but they got denied. So instead we did the haunted mansion ones and they pushed through right away. They're cracking down with the copyright issues and all.

WL is really pretty. We have resorts with a similar theme in the Wisconsin Dells and they are always fun to visit.
