My Food Trippie: This is How You Gain 10 Pounds Moving Next Door to the Mouse

Hope you feel better soon ! (Although I suspect that today will be just a little bit less enjoyable than yesterday - it's never pleasant when the anaesthesia wears off  . So you get a free pass from responding for a while ! )

Enjoy the pharmaceuticals !

Looking forward to the next installment of the Adventures of the Fairy Tale Bride and her new Happy Home !

I'm so glad you're feeling ok! Oral surgery! OWWW.

Is this the last of the wisdom teeth?

I hung on to my last 2 for a couple extra years and regretted it. I should have done all 4 at once.

Of all the pain that I have yet to experience tooth pain is the worst!

Best wishes that you continue to feel good.

(And as an 80s kid myself -- I can't believe you met a NKOTB!)

Thanks so much! :goodvibes
Yup, that was the last two! :yay:
I am so glad that's finally over with after putting it off for 9 years!
I've met two NKOTB to be exact! :rotfl2: Three to go! :lmao:

Thanks! :goodvibes I'm still on her posting away! The only problem is that I'm dizzy and out-of-it because of the drugs! So, I'm having a problem typing. I got back to read what I typed and it will not make any sense! :lmao: So, just bare with me! :rotfl:

Hey Lindsey! I cant believe I missed this thread! I can't wait to see more pictures of your house and I hope your recovering from your surgery quickly! I just thought I'd throw this picture in for your "viewing pleasure"!!

scan0002.jpg

Of course that was 5 years ago. I was 13 --> note the METAL MOUTH! We met and hung out at the Nomar Bowl. My uncle ran this a while back .. there was bunch of different celebrities there. I've also met Jordan and Johnathan Knight. One of my old teachers actually lived with Johnathan Knight so thats how I met both of them. Jealous yet?? :rotfl: Dont be. Its been years! Cant wait to read more!

That is too funny! I LOVE IT! :rotfl2: I gotta go find my picture with Jordan and post it! I thought I had it on my computer, but not anymore obviously. It's from from about 3 years ago. :goodvibes I was never a huge NKOTB fan at the time, but my best friends were obsessed! I sent an e-mail to my friend right after I met Joey on Saturday night and she started freaking out! That's who she was in love with and we actually met Jordan together. We use to play with the NKOTB dolls after school! :lmao:

Our food was wonderful! I ordered the Pumpkin Ravioli, which was fantastic! The first time I ever had it was at a little restaurant here in NC and it's pretty hard to find. I was so happy to see it on the menu because I hadn't had it in a long time! The Ravioli had a brown butter sauce with fried sage, port wine glaze, toasted pine nuts and aged parmesan cheese. It was pretty tasty! I can't wait to go back, so I can order it again! Hoepfully, with better service this time. ;)

I stopped reading when I saw "pumpkin ravioli" !!!!!! :) OK, so this place is now a MUST for our trip in Aug, because, well, you see, I'm slightly obsessed with pumpkin ravioli (well pumpkin in general but I have a special place in my heart for pumpkin ravioli - we had it at our wedding! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 )

Ok, back to reading your food trippie... :)

p.s. as a fellow pumpkin-lover (DH calls me the "pumpkin queen" and gets upset when I try to put pumpkin in all my recipes...rofl) I've stocked up on coffeemate pumpkin spice creamer to extend the pumpkin season! :)

p.p.s. I hope you are feeling better! also, I love that you have a disney house! I wanted to get that mirror you have, too. :)

Great reviews. Can't wait to read the rest. Also, great picture with Joey. I'm an 80's kid also.

Laugh all you want! :rotfl2: The nurse and the doctor sure were and I'm sure they were cracking up when I was knocked out in the operating room opening my eyes for no reason at all! :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Lindsey, I have a funny Disney themed story too....going into surgery & they had just given me my IV pre-op...they were wheeling me out the door & the stretcher was a tight fit....they said keep our hands in & I said..."Please,keep your hands & arms inside the vehicle at all times" after which my husband said I passed out & they all were laughing at me!!!!!!

Hope you are feeling ok & eating lots of ice cream!

From one Pumpkin fanatic to another...you gotta go try this Ravioli! :yay: Even if your service is horrible, like ours was, it's worth it for the Pumpkin Ravioli! Now, that's saying some thing! ;) I've now begun to wonder if there will be any special pumpkin desserts on the menu during the fall season. :scratchin

HaHa! :lmao: That's great! It would have been even better if you said it in Spanish like on the monorail! :rotfl2: Thanks for making me not feel too crazy! :rotfl: I'm still wondering what else I may have said, while I was out....I'll never know...

Garden View Lounge Tea Room

I can FINALLY get back to writing my Food Trippie! I've been recuperating nicely from oral surgery and finally feel up to writing. I've been dizzy and out-of-it all day with a splitting headache. :headache: I've felt like I had a horrible hangover all day and I had to sleep it off to feel better. I've been drinking a lot of smoothies from Smoothie King and even had some Egg Drop Soup for lunch from my favorite Chinese place, so I'm doing good! :goodvibes

Oh, and my DH surprised me yesterday after the surgery with some new Stowaways that our joining our family! They've been on the couch with me all day helping me to feel better! Meet our new additions, Squirt & Stitch!

I'm really hoping I left my memory card in Florida, so if I did, I promise I am coming back and reposting all of my pictures in my Food Trippie! :thumbsup2 Garden View Lounge is another spot that is hard to describe with words! The food and setting is just so beautiful! :goodvibes

This was my second time to the Garden View Lounge with my Mom! I made surprise reservations for us to go on Friday evening around 5:00pm because my Mom became obsessed with it after our first visit this past October! We fell in love with the place!

We had the last seating of the day and it was a different atmosphere in the evening then it is during the day. It was not as packed and it was quite nice. My Mom and I even got seated at the exact same table in the corner, which is our favorite spot! I think we'll have to request it every time we go now!

My Mom got the Garden View Blend tea the first time and she had to have it again! It is now her favorite tea! I wanted to try something different, so I went with the Mad Hatter this time! It was so yummy and had a blend of passion fruit in it. The Grand Floridian has got the best tea we've ever had!

This was going to be our dinner and our only meal for the day, so we were going all out! This was no afternoon tea for us! ;) We started with the English Blue Stilton Cheese, which was fantastic! It was served with walnuts and marinated berries. It was very filling and I think I ate over half of it! I even had to have a second order of crackers, so I could finish it off! Yummy!

It was time for the main course and my Mom and I wanted to try something differnent, than the last time we went, so we went with the Buckingham Palace! We love feeling like English Royalty at the Garden View Lounge and play it up! It's such a blast and we've always had the most wonderful waitresses, who play right along with us! It is such a fantastic experience and such a great time to share with my Mom! We love our dibs & dabs! princess:

The Buckingham Palace started with traditional tea sandwiches, which were egg salad, shrimp salad, watercress, chicken salad, and an onion tart. We loved the watercress sandwich, it was definitely our favorite! I also loved the onion tart and ate mine and my Mom's! We were already getting full and we weren't even half way through our meal yet!

Our waitress then brought out our scones and jam tarts, which were served with strawberry jam in a small glass jar and a small plate of butter. The waitress told us to spread the butter on one side of the scone and the jam on the other. It was warm and scrumptious! :goodvibes

It was time for dessert and we were ready for it! By this time, there was only two other people in the lounge besides us and some of the waitresses had already begun to clean-up the restaurant for the day. We could choose between fresh strawberries & cream or a selection of freshly baked pastries for our dessert, but our waitress told us there were not as many pastries left as usual. She was nice and offered us the English Triffle as an option, as well. My Mom and I both said we were fine with the pastry selections and our waitress was shocked that we made that selection. She said, "okay then," with a big smile on her face and went over to get all of the selections she had left. There was about one of every item left, so if we each wanted the same thing, we would have been out of luck. All my Mom wanted was chocolate covered strawberries, so she was in luck! I decided to have the last Swan puffed pastry and a chocolate covered strawberry too! We just love WDW's strawberries! The best ever! My Swan was so yummy too!

We had another fantastic tea at the Garden View Lounge and we were not disappointed at all! This is our favorite food stop at WDW and it's now something we must do every time my Mom comes down for a visit! My Mom has really gotten into tea, since our first visit. We had wonderful service and the atmosphere is gorgeous! We can't wait to go back again!

First of all..glad you are feeling better!!! :cool1: tooth issues=NOT fun!

What a wonderful description of the Grand Floridian Tea!! I have seen your pics from the first time you went with your Mom, so I did have a visual to work with..but if I did not I could still picture it..I def. have to hit that up at some point..i love tea and dibs and dabs!

Hey Lindsey - just wanted to say hi and I'm glad you're on the mend. Now you're all moved and all your oral surgeries are over (right?) - the REAL fun can begin now!!! As expected I'm loving your food trippie. I get so hungry reading it that I usually have to go get a snack. : ) Love your house decor too!

I have a question for you since you're the disboards master. :goodvibes I'm going to Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea in March - do you think I should try posting a trip report? I think it would be interesting to compare those parks to WDW but I'm not sure if the moderators would think it belongs on the Disney boards. : ) They have a separate board for Paris Disney but nothing for Tokyo.

Also - my DF booked our October trip for 10/21-10/28 - so I'm gonna miss the DIS meet. :sad1: Boohoo! My friend has a timeshare at the Swan and Dolphin so I had to work around his schedule. SNIFF! You'll have to do another TR for the DIS meet! ;)

Anyway, sorry to babble - glad you're back on the boards and doing swell!!!

oh my god can Joey's hair GET any higher?!

I just found your report and its great so far!! You are so lucky moving to the Mouse House Land! I was just looking at cost of living differences between here and Orlando and hoping SO can get a transfer soon!!

Your reviews are great! Hope you are feeling better!!

Glad you are feeling better and love the new Stowaways!!

The tea sounds so enjoyable and would love to do it sometime but can not picture DFi there...maybe I can make a special trip one time and meet my cousin there since she lives in Orlando.

Here is some Pixie Dust pixiedust: pixiedust: that the memory card is in FL still. Which day do you head back? Are you looking forward to it? Well off to do more laundry :laundy:. I wish days off were more relaxing!!

Hey Lindsey, loving the report! I must say I love your new additions. My DS4bought Stitch and Squirt on our last trip too! Does your Squirt talk? My DS's did but it doesn't anymore, Disney is supposed to send him a new one.

Lindsey,

Your newest stowaways are the CUTEST! I love Stitch's ears!

Btw...something I forgot to mention in my trippie was that when DH and I headed to the POFQ for more pictures our guests up and decided to go for tea!

They loved it...even my brother who had....Mad Hatter Tea. He said it tasted like gummy bears!

Only my brother could describe tea as gummy bear tea! :lmao:

That's reason 102 why I need to go back. I haven't gotten to go for tea.

Another great entry!

That is SO neat that you are going to Tokyo Disneyland! I doubt I'll ever make it there! What is Tokyo Disney Sea? I have never heard of that! I'd love to read your Trippie and see pictures from Tokyo! You definitely need to write a Trippie and I don't see any problem posting it under the regual Trip Report Board if there isn't a special place for Tokyo Disneyland. I can't wait to see the pictures! I'lm still just trying to make it to Disneyland in CA! :goodvibes I'm so sorry you'll miss our MNSSHP DIS Meet! I think will need to make it an annual event, so maybe the next year or I'll try to plan another event later down the road! I am having a blast getting this event together! You will have a magical time no matter what! Oh, I can't wait to write the Trippie after the DIS Party! What a TR that is going to be!

Thanks a bunch! :goodvibes I do hope I find that memory card! I did just buy a new one today to take to the Pirate & Princess Party, so this time I am prepared! :rotfl: I am heading back to Florida this Friday, so that means I will be busy packing everything all day tomorrow after my check-up visit at the oral surgeon. I can't wait to get back to the sunshine state! My Mom and I are so excited about the P&P Party! :woohoo:

No, my Squirt does not talk. I wish he did! What did he use to say!? DUDE!? :rotfl2: I bet he's pretty cute! Did you have to send off Squirt to get a new one from Disney or are they just sending you one? I hope Squirt's voice box comes back for your DS! :goodvibes

Awwww...thanks! Stitch's ears remind me of my bunny's ears I had when I was little, his name was Floppy for a reason. ;) hehe!

I'm so sorry you missed the tea! How dare they leave the Bride! :rotfl2: I know, my family went to eat at Kona Cafe without me one morning and all had Tonga Toast before I ever did! I was jealous! :goodvibes

I'm so glad your brother got the Mad Hatter! It is so yummy and sweet! I do love gummy bears too! Maybe that's why I loved that tea so much! :rotfl: What a great description! The tea is that good! Yummy!

I'd love to plan a DIS Meet for Afternoon Tea one day! That would be such a wonderful time! princess:

Lindsey, I'm glad you're feeling better :cutie: You've had such a hectic start to 2007!

I'm going to book the GF tea for my mom and I when we go down for my wedding. We'll have a couple days to ourselves before everyone gets there and the madness starts! I remember your review of Garden View Lounge from one of your previous TRs, and I knew you loved it then! You've convinced me! Thanks for all your great advice! I love the new stowaways ;)

Earl of Sandwich

This was the day my Dad flew into Orlando to help me move into my new house! The furniture would be arriving in the next couple of days and my Dad was coming to help us out with some yard work. My Mom and I spent the morning driving to the Airport and hanging out in the largest Airport I have ever seen! I saw two Disney Stores in the first 15 minutes we were there. It was my dream Airport! I was busy shopping around and we got a call from my Dad that he had landed, so we went to meet him at the baggage claim

My Dad had a safe flight and was so excited to get to Florida to see us! He couldn't wait to see the new house! He even brought down a whole bag of sleeping bags and blankets for my Mom and I, who were still sleeping on the floor. :rotfl2: My Dad is a Disney fanatic too, so we decided he needed a small taste of Disney for his arrival day!

We were hungry and in the mood for something light and I brought up the idea of going to Earl of Sandwich at Downtown Disney, which is a counter service restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. It was the Saturday before Martin Luther King Day, so it was really packed at Downtown Disney and the line was out the door at Earl of Sandwich! It was so worth it! My family and I agree that these are the best sandwiches we have ever had! We've already decided to go back next week! :rotfl:

I had The Caprese, which was filled with sliced fresh Mozzarella, fresh basil and drizzled virgin olive oil and I had a side of cole slaw. It was the best cole slaw I've ever had and I also tried the bread pudding, which was fantastic! My Dad had the The Original 1762 (Hot Sandwich) filled with roasted beef, creamy horseradish sauce, and cheddar cheese on Artisan bread. My Mom had a wrap made to order with her favorite salad inside! It was such a yummy lunch!

This is a must for a quick and inexpensive stop on any WDW vacation!

I will FINALLY have pictures for my next Posts! :woohoo:
