You can do either, but I found it was easiest to do it when I check in at the DME welcome center at MCO. I had the same thing happen and I simply told them my new information at that time. Worked perfect.

When I called last week, they told me to call only if my flight number changed, which would be your case, so I would call right away. But that is just me.
