Last spring DH and I decided to bite the bullet and do a full kitchen remodel. Tear out everything including the pantry and gut it. The old kitchen was nonfunctional in many, many ways and we've always hated it. We really want to sell this house within the next few years and no one would look at it with the old kitchen. Got the money together, ordered the cabinets/flooring/lighting and waited and waited and waited. Apparently they take 8+ weeks to build and ship cabinets, that was not explained to us but ok, we'll manage. Really wanted to complete this over the summer because DH could be easily available but hey it's only August, they'll finish soon right?
Well, now it's October, I haven't haven't working plumbing in my kitchen for almost a month thanks to Irma and the remodel. Our little town also turned off the sewer pumps during and after Irma so that was a not enjoyable week. I have partial bottom cabinets but some of them are not what we ordered so that's stalled while they figure out what went wrong. The tile guy may be here sometime this week if I'm lucky. The coordinator is a flake and getting her to respond to phone calls and texts is impossible. The new lights are fantastic but the electricians didn't recess the plug behind the stove like we asked and the stove can't fit flush against the wall unless it's changed. Most of me feels guilty complaining because there's people here who lost everything in the storm, but on the other hand we started this what feels like forever ago and I'm tired of not being able to wash even a spoon unless we use the tub.
Everyone tells me it'll be worth it in the end, but dangit, I just want to scramble an egg and use my dishwasher lol
