Chapter: DAY 4 (friday 2 May).
It was 7.00 in the morning and the telephone was ringing and woke me up. Before I went to bed I had set the telephone alarm at 7.00 o clock and it worked perfect for me. And what I had read befor was true. When I pick it up I was listening to Mickey Mouse himself. Can't remember the exact words he was saying, but I think it is just the same as others have noticed before.
It was time to shower and prepare for my first use of early entry.
And today of cours it was held at Animal Kingdom. The only of the four Disney parks which I hadn't visit the previous days.
Many people had adviced that the animals are more active during the early morning hours, so thats why I decided to go early to this park.
Was at the bus stop at 7.40am and I was before 8am at the park entrance. All people were waiting, because they start letting people in at 8.00am exactly. Only people with PS arrangements were let in before 8.00am.
Bagcheck was allready in operation, so when they start letting people in it proceeded very quick and I was through the turnstyles at 8.05am.
First I went straight ahead to Africa to do the Safari ride. Of course more people were doing this, but it wasn't a long line at all. Had expected to see much more animals during the safari trip then I saw the last time two years ago when I did the Safari.
Was a little bit disappointing about that. I remember from my last visit when we did the safari ride in the afternoon that lots of animals came very close to our vihicle. This time I thought there weren't as much animals then the previous time and also the animals were not came not so close. Of course I saw animals and the ride was enjoyable. Its allways a gamble what you will see, since the animals go of course their own way.
After the Safari my plan was to do the Kali River rapids. Went to Asia but it wasn't in the early entry programm. Because Asia was closed I went to Dinoland. And the first big new thing what I saw was of course Dinorama. This was a whole new area to me, since it wasn't there two years ago. The spinning mouse cousters, they have two of them, had no waiting line, so I could walk on. Did two nice rides on these cousters. However I had much fun by riding the coasters, I didn't like the Dinorama area at all. have the same mixed feelings about this area that I have with the Paradice Peear section of Disney's California Adventure themepark in Anaheim.
If I look at the Dinorama. It its just a fair. And they have also another version of the Flying Elephant. Now they have four attractions of this kind. Dumbo the flying Elephant. The rockets in Tomorrowland, the Aladdin Flying carpets and now this one. Can't they really find not another type of ride? I know it are kiddie rides, but also kids want more variantions I think.
Also the spinng mouse coasters, which are nice rides, have a theme that it are time machines. Hey, they have allready time rovers at the Dinosaur ride and much better ones. Why they need more then one attractions with a time machine concept in Dinoland?
After the coaster rides I went to Dinasaur. One of the best rides of WDW and I think the best one at Animal Kingdom. Also here not much of a waiting line, so I did the ride one or two times.
After this I tried to go to Asia for the river rapids. The area was no longer blocked, but the ride wasn't in operation.
After a walk through the Asia trek trail, I choose to exit the Animal Kingdom park. Think it was about 9.30am. It was so good weather in comparison to the previous days that I was really in the mood for a waterpark. Of course I wanted to go to Blizzard Beach, because I hadn't visit that park on my two pervious trips.
Went back to my resort, I was the only one I think. Went to Pepper market for a breakfast. This time just something from the bakery instead of the hot stuff. This is also a little bit cheaper and also enough for me.
After breakfast I pick up my swimwear and towel and hopped on a bus to Blizzard Beach. Its just a short ride from the Coronado Springs.
At Blizzard Beach, the first thing I did was rent a locker. Thought it was $7 and you get $2 back when returning the key. Its expensive. If I go swimming in my country the lockers are for free or its 50 cents or so. I needed one of course, so I had no choice.
After that I changed clothes and after that I put all my items in the locker.
In which order I did everything at Blizzard Beach I can't remember. Started whit the melt away bay, where I returned a few times between other attractions. After the Melt away bay I went on the chair lift. They had a single riders line, so the wait wasn't that long. Now there was Summet Plummet. Man it was long to wait. 30 minutes or more I think, but I wanted to do this one, because it should be the best slide of the park. Finally I did the Summet Plummet. Of course it was heavy, but not the heavyest slide I'v done. The hevyest slide I'v done is still in my own country at the Tikibad in Duinrell (www.duinrell.nl)
They have a slide that goes almost for 90 degrees down and for a few seconds you lost the contact with the slide and experience a free fal down. Of course it can be scary for some people, but its very spectaculair.
Of course I tried all sorts of slides at Blizzard Beach. Can't remember all the names, but there was Snow stormers, Double down dipper, I did them all. I also spent time in the lazy river and get around whole the loop.
Between all the activities I had a drink and about 3pm I went back to the Coronado Springs.
Back at my resort I used my mug for a free coke and relaxed for some time. Was a little bit tired. A waterpark can make you really tired.
At 6pm I had a PS for Boma at the Animal Kingdom lodge, so about 4.45 I went to the bus stop. Took a bus to MGM studios, thought this was the shortest ride to get to a transfer point and at MGM I went on a Animal Kingdom lodge bus. At 5.30pm or so I was at the AK lodge. For a while I explored the hotel and looked for the location of Boma.
At the podium I got a sort of a buzzer and waited for some time. Within 10 minutes the buzzer was set off.
About Bomas. It was really good. It was nice to try some types of food that I didn't know of. Also I had some normal food though.
Liked not everything of the foreign food. some were very tastefull, others were to sweet or I just didn't like it.
I'v eat very much at this buffet and there was only little room for the desserts. Of course I couldn't go away without trying the zebra domes. And I liked them so much. Maybe I was crazy, but I went back for another two.
After that I had really enough. They asked for coffee or so, but I wanted just the check. I was really finished and could look back at a wonderfull, little but unusual, meail.
I had dined for more then an hour long. After dinner I went outside at the back of the resort to look at the animals. The animals are brought really close to the rooms. If you are really an animal lover it should be great to stay at this hotel. On the other hand there isn't much outdoor space to wander around. Because of the animal trails there is littler space for wandering around. Personally I don't think I should stay here, but that does not mean that its not a beautifull resort.
After a 20/30 min. look at the animals I browsed through the resort shop for a while and finally wnet to the bus stop.
Of course I need a transfer point and I hopped on a downtown Disney bus.
Went to Disneyquest for a while and after that I entered Pleasure Island. This time I didn't have a backpack with me, so I feel much better about going into some of the clubs. Unfortunately the beach club wasn't operating.
Took a look in all of the clubs. The jazz company should be a jazz company, but these days because of a latin theme or so there was something else in this club. Didn't care for it that much. Took al look in Mannequiens. This should be the largest and best dancing in the southeast of the USA? It was nice done, but I know I'v been to bigger places in my counntry. Don't think that Mannequens can handle over 2000 people inside.
However its the club with the best lightshow.
Didn't care for Motion and BET soundstage.
Spent a very good time at 8Trax. Remember I'm solo and don't go to dance, but it the atmosphere and the music at 8Trax was neally amusing. I know almost every song they played. Had a few beers and after that I went back to the resort. Didn't make it to see the fireworks at night. Tomorrow I wanted also be up early.
Was back at the resort about 11pm and went to bed.
Comming soon DAY 5.
