Hey all! Today I told DH that what I want for Christmas is to go to WDW, and he said OK (I didn't think he would). Now, I will be honest and say that I love DH very much but we have been going through some rough stuff lately and so I am very excited to be getting away to my favorite place and (hopefully) decompress a little.
Here's a little background on me. I'm a Florida girl! We moved to Florida when I was in first grade and I lived there until I was 23. I'm from a small, sheltered, Pleasantville-type, resort beach town that's sort of isolated and sounded by wetlands on two sides. Naples, FL. Looking back, I really loved growing up there. However, everything shuts down very early there and now that I am a "young adult" I am glad to be more in a "big city". Now I live with my husband of almost three years about 20 minutes South of Salt Lake City. We live in Draper, where a lot of Olympians and their coaches live. We're very close to the ski resorts
.
Now a little about this trip. My Disney obsession is rooted in my upbringing. We lived about 3 1/2 hours South of WDW, and so we had Seasonal Annual Passes and my parents indoctrinated my brother and I with Disney 2-3 times every year. This will be my first Disney trip with all the Christmas goodness in over 15 years! I pretty excited!

not too bad for 4 nights on-property, at the last minute. I am cashing in our rewards to get my flight "free" and I will be buying a 4-day pass and a
If I'm not feelin it at first, then I'll just listen to one of Lou's Audio Guides and grab dinner on my own before I bite the bullet and jump into an attempt at being outgoing.
, snow on Main Street
, and some amazing fireworks.
. Epcot has evening EMH until 12:20 that night! Good thing I won't be checking out of my second hotel the next morning! I'm very excited about Holiday Illuminations (even if only the end is different, I'm positively giddy about hearing Cronchite bring me to tears at the end. Remember, it's been about 15 years since I've done the Holidays in Disney... I think if they had the Lights of Wonder still that I would lose it...
I'm excited to explore a little at the Dolphin; there was an article in Celebrations magazine recently (and I just read it today).
