So frustrating!

I have been using SkyAuction for about 4 years now. So far we have been very happy and only had one condo place we didn't like, but that wasn't SkyAuction's fault.

But NOW......

I purchased 3 blow out weeks. I went to book them and found that they had been USED by people I have never heard of. I figured this was an error, but I had no idea how frustrating it is to try to contact SkyAuction! NOONE answers the phone. They ask you to leave a message. ARGH!

So, I decided to email instead. I included all 3 reservation numbers, etc....

They did email me back but only gave me TWO replacement numbers. So, I emailed again and said I had paid for THREE weeks. I still haven't heard back.

I also can't tell if I still need to book by November 30th of 2010 or not. The new numbers say, "will expire in 387 days."

I just wish I could CALL and straiten this out. Relying on email is driving me NUTS!

I think historically Skyauction has not been one of those sites that is easily accessed by phone. I have actually spoken with one of their customer service reps, but that was a few years ago.

I can imagine how upset I would be to find out that the weeks I had paid for were already booked under another name!! Maybe they just sent the wrong certificate #'s in error. Keep calling. Maybe someone will eventually answer.

Finally got through to the operator on call 18......only to be transferred to a MESSAGE MACHINE!

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My son had the same thing happen. He had purchased 3 skyauction certs. and we had used one of them. They were due to expire the end of this month. He eventually got hold of skyauction and they replaced the two certs that were used by someone else with an expiration date almost a year later.

Hmmm.....I wonder if mine can be booked later? That is all I am concerned about (booking date).

Now it is the holiday so I am sure I won't hear anything until Mon at the earliest and this is supposed to be booked by the 30th of November, but since I gave them 2 full weeks to fix this I hope they will honor it and it won't be a problem.

good post I like it

Well, I was issued 3 new certificates, FINALLY.

But they say, "Expire in 387 days" and do not have a "book by" date or a "use by" date.

I emailed them and they said they need to be booked by Sept. of 2011 (that is nowhere on the certificate!) and they still did not give me a "use by" date.

If they expire in Dec. of 2011 and need to be booked by Sept of 2011, does that mean I only have until Dec. to use them?

This is all very confusing. And after about 7 emails and 14 phone calls (only 2 messages left though), I still don't have answers!

Man, I'm sorry that you are going through so much trouble! Would you have been able to use the original ones past December of 2011? Is there availability? Whenever I look at the availability on SkyAuction it's pretty sparse more than a few months in advance.

The original ones could be used through Nov. of 2011 but had to be booked by Nov. of 2010.

Others are telling me I can book up to Sept. of 2012 but I haven't been told that yet.....I need to find out.

I like to book a couple of months out and not further either, but I knew these would have to be booked a year in advance and I was worried I would get all 1 bedrooms (not the end of the world, just not as roomy for a family of 5).

I will get the answers by January and get this all straitened out.

Just my two cents, but the 387 days expiration must relate to something. Clearly it's not the book by date as Sept. 2011 is prior to the completion of 387 days. I'd speculate, then, that the end of the 387 day period would relate to the "use by" date for your certificates.
If I were you I'd operate under that assumption unless you get a response from the company that is contrary to that. If they give you a "use by" date that's less that the full 387 days I think you should ask them what the 387 day period is supposed to mean.

I would call or e-mail until they clarify. The expiration dates have always been the "book by" date, not the "travel by" date, as far as I know. The 387 days is confusing, and I would want to know exactly what they mean. I think the replacements must have all been "book by" Sept. 2011, but "travel by" Sept. 2012. That seems right to me, but I still could be incorrect.
