Well, while I love to read the PTR's and finished TR's I didn't think that I would start writing my own. I'm feeling a little giddy to get started. :goodvibes

I'll start you off with some basics. This is not our first trip to the World and I know it will not be our last. This will be a bit of an extended stay for us as we usually only stay a week and this time will be staying for 10 glorious days! It is a little bit of a special trip as well. Our trip will be from September 11 through September 20. Yep, we are flying on 9/11 and we are returning on our anniversary. DH was a little nervous about that, but I think we should be fine.

Our home away from home for that duration will be Animal Kingdom Lodge complete with Savanna View! After all, if you're going to stay there you just have to have savanna view. I know I was sold on it the first time we stayed there. Then when we took our son for his first birthday, nothing could beat taking him to rock in the big rocking chairs at one of the overlooks. Just the two of us on those quiet evenings watching zebra and Ankole cattle while rocking my little one to sleep. It really felt like we were surrounded by the magic.

Now about that specialness of this trip. When DH & I travel...wait I really should be honest. When I travel I like all-inclusive. I've done my time roughing it. It is not my cup of tea. Staying on Disney property and using the dining plan? Yep, that is right up my alley. So, when my mother had seen my pictures and heard our stories from a trip back in '05 she was really interested in coming along to experience Disney the way we had along with her sister. Now it has become a bit of a thing. Except for last year. We had last year's trip booked, planned, paid and ready to go. Then we got the news that Mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and with impending surgery and recovery she would not be able to make the trip. She was very fortunate that the diagnosis was early and that prognosis is very good. Now that surgery, recovery and chemo are finished she is rip raring to go spend 10 days on vacation with her grandson and where better to spend it than at Disney World.

Now for some quick introductions.

Here is me, my mom and my aunt. Coincidentally, Aunt Betty is a breast cancer survivor.

Here is my DH, Jeremy. He perpetually channels Grumpy. He's a good guy though and while on every trip he has said, let's make this our last and yet when we see that bounce back offer in our room we book before we leave. Thanks Dear!

Here is DS, Alex who will be 3 for this trip (and it is his 4th trip to Disney World. What a lucky little guy!).
