My first cruise - April 10-17, 2011 on the Wonder! A pre-trip report.

Yeah, like DF said, I don't care where the boat stops, I'm just happy to be on vacation and not at work!

Not cruise related but I came home from a very long day at work to a letter from my university confirming I earned my degree! YEEEEEAHH! I knew I was done but it's a relief to get something from the school confirming it.

I get the actual degree in 4-6 weeks. YEAH I'm so happy tonight!!!

I'm enjoying your pre-trip report. I know it's hard waiting for the cruise. My hubby, 9 yr old grandson and I are going on the same cruise on March 20th.

We are doing the dolphin swim, well I'm doing the observation thingy, I don't do water. We're doing the one in PV and it includes a Mexican buffet too. It's kind of spendy for the swim but Andre is so excited.

I've been to Cabo once before, just walked around town and had lunch and a margarita.

Oh really? What can you tell me about it? Is it usually crowded? Is it easy to find two chairs on the beach?

I read you can do a separate Sea Lion swim; have you done this?

We are still trying to decide if we really want to pay so much for this excursion.

I have been severely neglecting my Pre-Trip Report lately and focusing on my Wedding Planning Journal but now that we are SO CLOSE to the sail date I am putting all my wedding magazines aside and focusing on everything I want to get done before the cruise!

I made some FE gifts, but I'm not going to post them until after the cruise.

Tonight I started working on my FE!

I only ironed the interfacing and sewed the little pocket on top for the dowel. I have a feeling this was the easy part.

Next weekend I will be tie-dying our shirts and FE pockets, and hopefully attaching the pockets the following weekend. Slowly but surely it will all come together.

Yesterday I got my cruise documents in the mail! So excited to see the luggage tags with our names on it.

Your FE looks like it will be really cute! I need to get busy - I haven't done any DIS-ish things to get ready yet.
I need to make magnets, get some things ordered for FE, get fabric to make an FE, start a list for packing, get some dining ressies connected.... Thanks for the reminder to get busy!

I have been very busy with making my FE gifts!!! I also tried tie dying some Mickey shirts but they didn't turn out so well.

Then I accidentally got pink dye on DF's shirt so he refuses to wear it now. Oh well, I will still wear mine.

I also tie-dyed some fabric to use as the pockets of the FE and they didn't turn out well, either. So now I have to go pick out some new fabric for the pockets.


ALSO, I think we have decided to cancel Las Caletas and just spend a casual day in PV instead.

I just have to share this funny story .... I am apparently having some cruise anxiety. I had a dream last night that I got so seasick that I passed out whenever the ship was moving. I dreamt I boarded the ship, and then next thing I knew we were in PV ... I asked DF what happened and he said that as soon as the ship started moving I started puking and blacked out. LOL When I woke up I told DF about the dream and all he could do was laugh at me and asked me if I've bought any seasickness meds yet.

I got some new tie dye to make a new shirt for DF, and I glued pockets on the FE and of course they are crooked (very noticibly) I am a DIY disaster!! But I'm persistent.

I'll be continuing to work on my FE after work and will post a pic later.

Here's my second attempt at DF's shirt. It came out much better this time! So much better that now I'm jealous of it! Now I want a new and better shirt!

And here is my progress on our FE. I added the pockets (please ignore the crookedness ) and trimming. Still deciding on images for the top and pockets!

I love the shirts! I think the FE looks fine. Once it's hanging with gifts in it, the FE Fairies won't even notice! You have been really busy. I don't even know if I'll have time to read your TR until I get back from mine. We leave on the 23rd, and are out of town the weekend before that, with lots of work in between!

After much blood, sweat, and tears (all of those things literally), my FE is finally complete!!!!

In hindsight I should have bought one off ebay. I'm not thrilled with how it looks (the quality). A lot of my ideas didn't end up working and it doesn't look anything like the "vision" I had for it. Ah well! What's done is done and it will do the trick!

I wanted to finish my FE gifts this weekend too, but drama with the FE took up all my spare time this weekend.

I love your FE!!! I like that it is unique and shows personality! I don't see anything wrong with the quality - we are always our own worst critic.

Funny, I was thinking that I wish I had taken the time to make mine - I ordered one from EBay - and you were thinking you should have ordered. You only have 2 weeks left!

Nope, I won't be posting my gifts ahead of the cruise, on any thread! I want to make sure everyone is surprised (not that my gifts are SO great or exciting ....)

All of my creativity is stolen from ideas on the DIS boards ... the FE template, the shirts, and even my FE gifts are all other people's ideas ... haha! There are some really creative and talented people on here!

And yes, we will be wearing our shirts at port ... we should be easy to spot.
