My first cruise - April 10-17, 2011 on the Wonder! A pre-trip report.

Thank you for checking in, I will be looking forward to reading all about your PC cruise and your Mexico excursions. I think in Puerto Vallarta we are either doing Las Caletas or the Krystal resort (I am leaning towards Krystal at the moment, since it is cheaper).

Not much new to report. I've been busy with my wedding planning journal, haha


I did go to Joann's fabric to get the supplies for my fish extender a couple days ago, but it was SUCH a madhouse!!!!! I guess they were having some kind of crazy sale. The line just to get fabric cut was SOOOO long, not to mention the register line. So I'll go back after the holidays. I did find some very cute nautical fabric for my FE and I'm excited to try making it. I'm not very crafty but I bet I can whip something up with the help of some of the tutorials on here.

Hi MindyJoy! I just saw your PTR and wanted to say congratulations on your graduation and engagement! It will be a Happy New Year for you for sure!

We are booked on the repo LA-VAN April 27th! We have family in Anaheim Hills, so we visit DL quite often, too!

I wanted to tell you that we took a vacation in Puerto Vallarta a couple of years ago. You can't go wrong with Vallarta Adventures. They meet the cruise ships at the dock and take very good care of you. I thought they were very reasonable compared to the cruise ship prices, and we were on the excursion with cruisers. We took the Catamaran to Yelapa http://www.vallarta-adventures.com/tours/yelapa Had a great day! I think it was $70 each for that one and included breakfast and lunch and drinks. (looks like it's only $55 right now)


Tip: Take Acidophilus starting about 2 wks before you go and eat lots of yogurt if you are planning to eat or drink off the ship - Montezuma's Revenge is a vacation wrecker!!!

Hi Magicfor2, thanks for the vacation referral, I will look into that package. We still haven't decided what we're doing in PV and Cabo.

I went to Cancun about 10 years ago so I am familiar with the food issues ... lol ..... thanks for the tips on that, too.

I got my bill in the mail yesterday! I also transferred my reservation to DU so I could get some additional OBC.

I still have a few things to do before April:

- Choose excursions!!!!!
- Lose 15 pounds.
- Make my Fish Extender
- Start thinking about FE gifts

I hope you can do the cruise you are dreaming of! I researched for a very long time before deciding on the location and date that was right for me. What location are you thinking about?

Well, no new cruise info to report but I am happy to announce that BF and I are now ENGAGED!

He proposed during the snow at Disneyland last night.

So now we will not only be celebrating my graduation on this cruise, but also our engagement!

We have been on the MR cruise with Disney before, and the PC cruise. We are so looking forward to hanging out on the ship. What a wonderful place to take a break from school and plan for a wedding!

I can't book until Jan 25 I guess we better start discussing excursions!

Yay for 3 months!!! Wait til you drive up to the port and see the ship for the first time - it will make you cry!

As of yesterday we are PAID IN FULL (with my Disney Visa, woohooo $50 obc!)!!!!

DF and I were reviewing the excursions and nothing really caught our fancy. We are also being very frugal with the upcoming wedding and all, so I think we are just going to "wing it." All we want is a beach or pool to lounge around and relax and it seems like that shouldn't be too difficult to find at each port.

TOMORROW is the day I can book PALO, spa, and excursions!!!!! I wonder if I can log in at midnight tonight, or how it works ....


DF and I are very bummed about Mazatlan as that is the one port we had an excursion planned. I'm sure Disney was getting a lot of calls and complaints about stopping there, but I blame the media for blowing the violence out of proportion. Now the poor residents of Mazatlan are going to take a severe economic blow and I'm not going to be able to ride my horse on the beach. It's very disappointing.

So now we are trying to figure out what to do with the two days in Cabo. Pretty much all of the excursions are too expensive.

This weekend I started working on gifts for the FE exchange, but I'm not going to post any details because I don't want to ruin the surprise! I did also buy the fabric for the FE and the dye to make our tie dye Mickey shirts. I am also going to use the dye for the FE pockets. Next weekend I will get started on trying to assemble the FE.

I was able to go online last night and book my activities!! I was able to get PALO for night 4, and PALO brunch for the last sea day. I also booked Exotic Rasul as a surprise for DF , that is on Day 3 (second sea day).

I booked Las Caletas for PV although I'm not sure we'll keep it due to the high price tag. Everything for Cabo seemed expensive so hopefully we'll find something to do once we reach port.

I'm getting really excited!!

too bad about the port change...but I heard cabo was real nice......amazingly I personally don't care about the different ports we stop at lol..I just would rather stay at castaway cay for 2 days and stay at sea for 2 days..lol

I mean if I was on carnival then yea please get me off the ship as much as possible!!!
