My fellow addicts, How do you get your Disney fix at home?

I bought the a scent machine with the green clover and aloe cartridge. Now my home smells like the Beach club.

That is awesome! Where do you purchase something like this? I love walking into the Beach Club! That first breath...I know I'm home!

Since we don't have a trip planned for this year - Boo, Hiss- I've busted out our old refillable mugs. Also keep talking to DH about "if you could stay at one resort..." " eat at one restaurant...", "go on one ride...." Luckily he plays right along because he's got the sickness too!:P

I do the same with DH! :rotfl2: Only difference is DH thinks I'm crazy

Mostly I come here.
I also go on YouTube marathons. I've watched tons of dining reviews (love Eating My Ears), and my latest is watching the Holiday Wishes from every imaginable location (Cali Grill, TOTW, TTC, Pirates and Pals...).
And I have my souvenirs from the last trip. I specifically chose stuff I'd see every day: key chain on my truck keys and another on my work keys/lanyard, Micky pen in my pen cup on my desk at work, Mickey window decal that I still have to put on my truck (waiting to wash it first), Mickey Christmas ornament that is currently hanging on my banana holder on the kitchen counter (LOL), a Mickey magnet on my file cabinet at work, and another magnet with all the characters on my fridge here at home. Tomorrow is a teacher workday at school, so I'm wearing my WDW Mickey t-shirt and drinking out of my refillable mug all day while I'm grading papers and writing lesson plans! I also listen to my Best of Disney CD in the truck quite often.
And now I am planning the next trip, which is...uh...way too far away, but that doesn't stop me from planning like it's happening next week, LOL!

Yes! The Scents take me right back! I found this amazing lotion at BBW called Bourbon Strawberry Vanilla that smells exactly like Goofy's Candy Shop on Main Street. It also reminds me of Goofy's Candy parade float that smells delicious as it rolls by.

Never underestimate the sense of smell...it is an extremely powerful one! I get all nostalgic when I smell the boxed Kraft pizzas my kids make. I remember my mom having it ready for me when I used to arrive home for lunch from elementary school. (My kids eat it because I introduced them to this random grocery item...out of nostalgia, of course.)

So true. Disney as so good at awakening the senses. Certain smells can totally transport me to my happy place!

Lucky you! I have to play the what would you do if you could stay... eat... game on my own. :charac2:There is nobody around here that is has the Disney bug like I do.

When I get wind of someone planning a Disney vacation here at school, ( I am a teacher), I ask them questions about their upcoming trip. However, they all just give me the very basics, even when I ask follow-up questions. Most are just not overly excited about it. :worried:UGG!! pirate: What is wrong with these people????

Oh, yes! :ssst: I wear Disney bracelet and earrings, wear my Disney shirts on the weekends and evenings at home, drink out the refillable mugs everyday! I recently bought subtle Mickey tootbrush holder and soap dispenser for my bathroom and have even bought the big bottles of the H2O Disney shampoo and conditioner from the Disney Store online so I can use it in the shower every day. The shampoo and conditioners have the Disney logos on them. :)

I still have the little bottles that I took from the room. I don't use them, I just have them sitting by my tub! So silly, but I don't care! Hee hee!

I listen to the DIS Podcasts during my work commute (And sometimes even while I'm getting ready for work)
I'm on the DISboards several times a day
Luckily we have APs so I'm always in the process of planning a WDW trip!
And thanks to my kids, Disney Channel is on at our house A LOT

What's the best dis parks cd? I love hearing the music when I'm on hold lol

My students know of my Disney obsession. Yesterday I told my 4th graders that we were going to watch a Disney movie in class. They didn't get quite what they expected. We watched one of the Disney Imagineering Science videos on energy and the science behind the theme park rides. I love incorporating my obsession into my lessons. It is just fun!

I agree! I need to think of other ways to incorporate it into my curriculum or at least my decorations around the classroom. One decoration I have that I love is a metal sign I bought on my last trip. It has Mickey on it in front of the monorail and says "Stand Clear of the Door". I have it posted right beside my classroom door and use it to teach and remind my students that they need to stay in their seats and not group up at the door for dismissal. That is such a hard habit to break of eighth graders!

Where do you get all of the playlists?

I have looked for years to find any record of music played in lobbies of the resorts. So when I think about CR it is music by Spyro Gyra, WL is music from specific movies centered on westerns. You can find lists on Park Music Tunes and stuff like that. My Holy Grail came when I found the music they play on the bus when you enter AK park, and you can here it over the radio on KS. It is the Lord's Prayer in Swahili ( sp?) I think. I got it off YouTube using an MP3 converter.
