My Feet Are Gonna Pizza Flop-Off - 6 Days in 4 Parks! February 2024 TR **NEW** x2 1/2

I know not everyone loves them, but character meals are just the best. I love being able to have those moments with each character without having to wait in lines! Love your big kids still giving all the hugs, too. ❤️

Wowza!! I guess I had never thought about it or realized that this would be your view from Universal!! Incredible!

Super Nintendo World looked pretty amazing, and how incredible to get three rides in right away. Definitely worth the early entry fee from the sound of it.

We've been to Universal Orlando several times now, but have zero knowledge of their other parks. I'm excited to read about the Studio tour and the rest of your day in the park!
That's the Warner Brothers lot in the center background (beige painted soundstages), and the tall building in the far background is the ABC building at 2300 Riverside Drive, Burbank, which is right across the street from the Walt Disney Studios. Not sure if @khertz knew that as well...

It's the easiest way to get DS to still get a hug from a character. If we are just waiting in line, he is much more likely to opt out. :rotfl: They are so expensive, but I really enjoy the experience as a whole.

I didn't!! Thanks for chiming in, I had no clue!

Day 6 Continued: Thursday February 15th

We were pretty stuffed as we left the restaurant and headed through security to get to the parks. Once we had entered Disney California Adventure a little after 9 am, we were able to book our first LL for Web Slingers at 9:20 am. There wasn’t anything we wanted to hurry to do before we could redeem our LL, so I suggested we go look around Off the Page since we all really like looking at the Disney art and wishing we could buy it all.

IMG_5457 by disneymom1024, on Flickr

If you have ever been in this store, you have probably seen the artists in there drawing different Disney characters. There was one there working as we went in, and DS was fascinated by this.

IMG_5459 by disneymom1024, on Flickr

He is a huge fan of Figment, so he decided to look through the different characters available to purchase drawings of to see if there were any Figment options. There were a few, so he decided that would be his souvenir to bring home! It was a much better choice than yet another stuffed animal to get buried on his bed.

IMG_5461 by disneymom1024, on Flickr

IMG_5462 by disneymom1024, on Flickr

After talking with the animator about the different options for poses and colors, DS had picked out and ordered his Figment sketch. We paid and got the information for when to come back and pick it up, then we walked over to Avengers Campus.

IMG_7776 by disneymom1024, on Flickr

Before getting into line, we saw the Dora Milaje coming out, so we stopped to watch them for a little while.

IMG_7779 by disneymom1024, on Flickr

IMG_7782 by disneymom1024, on Flickr

We were ready to sling some webs at that point, so we got into the Web Slingers LL.

The next LL we booked was for Guardians of the Galaxy, but we had some time before we could redeem that so we walked over to Cars Land. I really wanted photos in front of the sign, so amid the moans and groans of the kids, we went over there to get in the short line for the Photopass photographer.

Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree had a short wait, so we did that next.

It was about time for us to use our Guardians LL, so we headed back over to Avengers Campus.

IMG_7807 by disneymom1024, on Flickr

We stopped for a bathroom break, and missed a magical moment with Spider-Man, so DH made sure to get photos to show us how much we miss while taking bathroom breaks! We did see him as we were coming out, though.

How fun that your DS chose a Figment sketch--what a great souvenir! I'm excited to see how it turned out :)

Day 6 Continued: Thursday February 15th

Then we decided to go see if we could be successful in breaking out the Guardians of the Galaxy.

This time, we got the song Free Ride.

DH is a big fan of Dr. Strange, so he enjoyed this little area of Avengers Campus a lot.

IMG_7832 by disneymom1024, on Flickr

IMG_7837 by disneymom1024, on Flickr

The next LL we were able to book was for the Incredicoaster, so that’s the direction we headed in once we finished on Guardians. There was a photographer out on the San Fransokyo bridge, so we stopped there for some pictures.

I really loved how they redid these areas of the park, and gave Baymax and Big Hero 6 more representation in the parks. What a gem of a movie! We also really enjoyed the change from Paradise Pier to Pixar Pier. Pixar has so many incredible movies and characters, and this is a great way to showcase some of them.

IMG_7839 by disneymom1024, on Flickr

IMG_7840 by disneymom1024, on Flickr

IMG_7841 by disneymom1024, on Flickr

Then we went over to use our Incredicoaster LL. The kids started out before this trip super nervous about this ride because it goes upside down, but they absolutely loved it and it was one of their favorites!

The next LL we booked was for Goofy’s Sky School. To kill a little time before we could use that one, DD wanted to use some of her souvenir money for a popcorn snack and hung out in Pixar Pier. DD wanted to pose with everyone at the Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind.

IMG_1090 by disneymom1024, on Flickr

So jerky, but so fun! The kids had a blast on this one. I don’t love the appearance of maybe going right over the edge of the roller coaster track, but it’s still a good time. We booked our next LL for Roger Rabbit, then got in the short standby line for Under the Sea.

We headed back to the front of the park, and popped into Off the Page to pick up his Figment drawing, then decided he wanted to spend a little more to get it framed. While they were in the store, I decided to sit outside on the curb and watch the Lunar New Year parade all of the way through since up until this point, we had only caught bits and pieces. I can’t overstate just how absolutely gorgeous this entire parade was! The colors and the costumes were stunning. Unfortunately, since it was just me watching you’ll only get to see these less-than-stellar iPhone photos of it.

The rest of the family joined me towards the end of the parade once DS's drawing was framed. It came out great!

Untitled by disneymom1024, on Flickr

After the parade, we crossed over to Award Wieners to get the kids some lunch, because unlike DH and me, they don’t stuff themselves silly when we eat at a buffet. DS got a hot dog, and DD got one of those Kids Power Packs that are just a bunch of snacks but it made her happy.

IMG_7882 by disneymom1024, on Flickr

I guess though we weren’t hungry enough for lunch, but I have in my notes that we made a mobile order for an ice cream sundae at Gibson Girls Ice Cream Parlor before leaving DCA and heading over to Disneyland. So apparently we still had room for dessert!

This was a great little afternoon snack to enjoy! We weren’t in a hurry yet, because our next LL wasn’t usable yet and we had already done so much. We headed further into the park, and stopped for some photos around the Partners statue, and then over in front of the Matterhorn also.

As much as DS protests when it’s picture taking time, he requested a solo photo here since the Matterhorn ended up being his favorite attraction.

We made our way through Fantasyland so we could get back to Toon Town to use our Roger Rabbit LL. Both kids had been on this before, but it was the first time they went on it after seeing Who Framed Roger Rabbit? and I think that definitely made it more enjoyable for them to actually understand what is going on in this crazy ride!!

We were able to book our next LL for Big Thunder Mountain, but we had some time before we could use that one. Since we were right there and it had been a long time since we’d done so, we decided to hop on the Railroad and take the loop around the park! Like many little boys, when DS was young he absolutely LOVED trains. The Disneyland Railroad was a huge hit with him on our trips when he was little, especially the prehistoric dioramas that set it apart from the WDW Railroad.

I didn’t put it in my notes, but I seem to remember that we had to stop at the New Orleans Square station to take on more water for the train, but the actual stop was closed so no one could get on or off there.

I have pictures of DD with this cotton candy but no idea when or where she bought it! Lol She was all about the snacks this trip, so she had a bottomless pit of a stomach for them all week long.

After Pirates, we were ready to head out for the day. We had to head back to DCA to pick up DS’s framed Figment and to get to GCH to get our luggage, so we got some photos of the park at night. So pretty!

While DH picked up our stuff from bell services and got us an Uber, DD and I decided to rest our feet in the lobby and she wanted to dig into her cotton candy.

IMG_5638 by disneymom1024, on Flickr

We were so sad to say goodbye to GCH, but what an amazing experience to get to stay there! Hopefully it won’t be our last stay there. In addition to it being a gorgeous resort, it is so nice to be have the quick access to the parks.

IMG_5640 by disneymom1024, on Flickr

We got back to Wyndham around 7:30 and unpacked our bags from our resort-stay-within-a-resort-stay, then got to bed early. We were pretty tired, and had another early morning and a full day in the parks to finish off our trip before we made our way home!

This is such a thorough and fun trip report! I’m following along and really appreciating all the info.

We have two kids just a bit older than yours, and have a very similar trip coming up on almost the same dates as your trip! Feb 2025 we’ll be at Knott’s Feb 13, USH Feb 14, DLR Feb 15-16.

I’d love to hear if you have any other advice about USH in particular, beyond the amazing info you’ve already shared.

I’m really torn about whether to do early entry and whether to get express tickets. I have same fears you had about making it in time since we’re also staying in Anaheim. Our USH day is Feb 14th which is Friday before long weekend (Presidents day) so I’m guessing will be super busy…

Would you still recommend getting both express and early entry at USH? If you had to pick just one, which would you do? Anything you wish you had done differently?

Your trip report has been so hugely helpful, thanks so much for all the wonderful detail. Your family is lovely ❤️

We were really happy we had gone with both Early Entry & Express because it kept us from feeling like we were missing out on anything! With your USH day probably being a bit busier than ours, I think personally I'd do the Express because then hopefully your longest wait will be for Mario Kart. If you can swing both, I'd suggest doing both, especially if you want to do more in SNW than just the ride. We didn't do any of the games but as I understand, early entry is a big part of being able to do those before it gets too crowded. Just leave yourself PLENTY of travel time, that worked out very well for us!

The only thing I regret missing is the Waterworld show because I have read that it's really good, but overall for it being the only thing we didn't do in the park with the exception of Jurassic World (too cold!) I think we had a pretty successful day overall. The escalators also really take awhile so make sure you're grouping stuff you want to do together on the different lots. It's more difficult and time consuming to try to go back for something you missed if you have already moved on to another lot.

I'm glad the TR has been helpful!! Happy to answer any other questions you have if needed :)

I am not sure if it's just me, but do y'all see a lot of red X's when I post photos? It seems like only about half of them show up for me.

Day 7: Friday February 16th

Our last park day felt like it was suddenly upon us! We were up early because we wanted to take advantage of as much time as we could, and we had a very princessy reservation for DD. We got up at 6:30 am to get an Uber at 7 am over to Disneyland park.

IMG_5643 by disneymom1024, on Flickr

IMG_5644 by disneymom1024, on Flickr

IMG_5645 by disneymom1024, on Flickr

Once we were let into the park, we went in two different directions. DD and I went over to the Hub so that we could head for the Castle when the rope dropped. DH and DS were going to go over to Tomorrowland while DD had her makeover done.

IMG_5647 by disneymom1024, on Flickr

Another family waiting for rope drop to head to Peter Pan saw me taking our selfie and offered to take a picture of us together.

IMG_5648 by disneymom1024, on Flickr

IMG_5652 by disneymom1024, on Flickr

There was a security guard holding us at the rope, and he was telling everyone if we had any questions about the Disneyland app, Disneyland map, Lightning Lane, Genie + or the meaning of life, he could answer questions about 4 of the 5…he was still trying to figure out Lightning Lane. lol

When the park opened, we had a little bit of time before our reservation, so we decided to stop for some “Before” photos in front of the Castle. I’m glad we did, because we met an awesome photographer named Ray who took a ton of photos of DD and told her to make sure she came back after her makeover for some “After” photos because he wanted to see her Elsa look.

After a quick photo session, we headed around the Castle to check in at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.

IMG_5658 by disneymom1024, on Flickr

IMG_5663 by disneymom1024, on Flickr

We checked in for her appointment, and we got the Carriage Package again which is just hair, nails, and makeup since we already had her Frozen II Elsa dress. This time instead of one with a hairpiece, DD wanted the classic bun. I wasn’t sure how that would go because DD has SO much hair, but our Fairy Godmother Apprentice made it happen!

IMG_5666 by disneymom1024, on Flickr

While one did her hair, another came over to paint her nails and apply her makeup. I don’t think at WDW there were 2 people doing her makeover, but I could be misremembering. The biggest bummer was that there were no Photopass photographers and there is no included studio photos like WDW, but we still had a good time!

IMG_5685 by disneymom1024, on Flickr

IMG_5695 by disneymom1024, on Flickr

When it was time for the reveal, instead of just spinning her around to face the mirror, there was actually a little magic involved to open the curtain in front of the mirror, and DD got to wave her Magic Fingers to help open it!

IMG_5741 by disneymom1024, on Flickr

All finished and sparkly!

IMG_5745 by disneymom1024, on Flickr

IMG_5749 by disneymom1024, on Flickr

We went back to the front of the Castle and there were a few photographers taking families to either side for photos, and our buddy Ray was still there. He was so happy we had come back!

Ray was SO awesome! I made sure to send in a Cast Compliment for him.

Day 7 Continued: Friday February 16th

Unfortunately, we got all of the way there and found out the ride was down so our LL converted to a multi-experience. We were able to book another one so we grabbed Matterhorn again since both kids liked it so much. The park still wasn’t crazy busy so we went over to Fantasyland to ride Snow White’s Enchanted Wish. We did stop at the restrooms over by where Mickey and the Magical Map theater was and DD liked that the restroom was labeled for her.

IMG_5765 by disneymom1024, on Flickr

As we walked through Fantasyland, we also spotted Pincchio and Gepetto again! We saw them several times this trip, which I can’t even remember the last time I saw either of them at WDW.
