My Favorite Week Of The Year: October 17-24! Updated 11/3

Your plans sound great!
Happy belated birthday to DD! I'm super jealous you guys are in long sleeves and jeans! It still feels like summer here.
Great job on the dresses. They turned out super cute and I just know the girls are going to look adorable in them at Disney.:goodvibes

Thanks for the birthday wishes! If you asked Ava she wouldn't think that it was belated because she has been celebrating all week!

The weather here has been fanstastic since Saturday. Low 70's during the day and upper 40's at night. I love fall.

Thanks for the compliment on the dresses. I really had fun making them. They wore the Mickey print dresses to a street fair that had about 300 different crafters and vendors. It was fun to be able to tell people that asked about their dresses that I made them!

The plan for today will be very different for our little family. Stu and Erin will be heading to Islands of Adventure while Ava and I have a special day at Magic Kingdom! Stu really wants to see the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. I started looking into it and found that Ava is just too short for the majority of things at IOA. Instead of spending all that extra money for her ticket and not being able to ride very much, I decided we should split up and I would take her to MK. I am jealous that Stu and Erin will get to see WWoHP, but I know that Ava and I will have a great time.

Since this day is all about Ava, I sat down with her to decide what she really wants to see and do. She was a little bummed that it's a small world will still be closed. Another favorite that will closed is the Teacups. (I don't really mind that the Teacups will be closed:sick:).

Of course her first priority at rope drop is Dumbo

She is also looking forward to seeing the Fairies

and Mickey.

There are a few things on her list that I have never seen or done before. I am looking forward to riding the Barnstormer, going to Tom Sawyer Island, and going to the Monsters Inc Laugh Floor all for the first time with Ava. Some of her other must-sees are Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, Buzz Lightyear, the Jungle Cruise, and the Magic Carpets.

Her last priority is the afternoon parade.

I think we are going to have a great day!

I'm here for your PTR. I loved your previous TR, so looking forward to this one too.

I am having a great day today! I went on some errands this morning and I was able to find some elusive items that I have been looking for. First of all I wanted to get some bracelets for the girls to give to others while we are waiting in lines or waiting for parades and such. I was able to find packs of the princesses as well as Mickey and friends.

I have also been on the look-out for Squinkies. I usually start Christmas shopping early so it doesn't all hit at once come December. They have been really difficult to find, but today I had some luck!

I was a little concerned yesterday because my husband's work place is ending their corporate contract with Hertz as of today. We are able to use his corporate rate for personal use for our rental, but with the contract ending we weren't sure if we would still get the rate. They are starting a new contract with Avis today. He contacted his HR department to see if there is a personal code to get the corporate rate and there is! I checked out the Avis rate and it will end up being about $50 less than the total was with Hertz!:cool1:

The final reason I am having a great day is that it is October, so we are now in the same month as our trip!:woohoo:

I like the idea of splitting up! I'm sure both girls are going to have a blast on their special day.
Sounds like you are having a great day. My girls love those silly bands.
Happy October. It must be fun to say "I'm going to Disney World this month!

I found your link from Ashley's trip report. We are there the same time as you, and have a few of the same park days planned as you. I can't believe we are all around 2 weeks until we leave!

I think I will be really glad that we decided to split up. Stu and Erin have been reading the Harry Potter books again in anticipation of their day.

I don't quite understand the draw of the silly bands, but the kids sure do love them!

It is fun to say we are going on the 17th and not have to specify which month anymore!

Thanks for stopping in! I will have to check out your PTR over the weekend. I have a feeling the next 2 weeks will fly by with regular life and all the last minute trip preparation!

Great day 2 & 3 plans. Actually, after changing my park days again we will be in the same park both days. Yay, we need to have a dismeet!

I know exactly how you feel about Ava, I don't know if Noah will make it on some of the rides again. We got to the dr. The day before we leave for his yearly and I am praying that he will measure 40" without shoes (seems he hasn't grown much since April)!

What a great day you had yesterday! Yay for the Avis rental being cheaper! I bought those same silly bands for the kids.

We will sure have to try and meet up!

I feel like Ava is never going to grow! I would be so happy if she could do Soarin', Test Track, Splash Mt, and Big Thunder. I don't want to get my hopes up in case it doesn't happen.

I was so excited to get a better rate for the rental! I was stressing out big time because if we were unable to use the corporate rate our total was going to go up about $250.

Today the whole family will be heading to Magic Kingdom. Last year we missed on Spectro and Wishes because the girls were just too tired. This year my biggest must-do is see the Electric Light Parade and Wishes. I can't wait!

We are also looking forward to Space Mountain. Last year it was down for refurb, so it is definitely high on our list. We also plan on doing Splash Mt and Big Thunder today with the Rider Swap if Ava doesn't make the mark.

Erin was disappointed to hear that the Teacups will be down this year. It was one of her favorites last time.

I have a surprise in store for her to make up for missing out on the Teacups. She is really looking forward to the new Disney movie Tangled. I found out that in the area that used to have Storytime with Belle there will be a Rapunzel meet and greet. I have not told her about it and can't wait to see her face when she sees Rapunzel!

Since we will have a late night at MK seeing Wishes, our plan is to try and sleep in a little today. Once we are ready our plan is to hit the road and head to Cocoa Beach! I never realized how close the ocean really is to WDW and for a girl from North Dakota it is worth the drive.

I am still trying to decide which beach we want to go to. The three areas that I am looking at are Jetty Park, the Cocoa Beach Pier, and Lori Wilson Park. Right now I am leaning towards Lori Wilson Park. In the info I have read it looks like a fairly quiet beach and there is a nature trail that looks neat. Anybody out there have an opinion on the beaches?

We plan to have lunch and supper in the Cocoa Beach area. If anyone has any good suggestions for restaurants I would appreciate it!

So sad that the Tangled meet and greet is pushed back to the 25th, was hoping that Chloe could meet Rapunzel. Plus, with tea cups and it's a small world shut down I know the kids will be a little let down. I am really looking forward to Main Street Electric Parade though.

Have never been to Cocoa Beach, so sorry can't help out there.

I bet you have been busy! I am so excited for the trip, but I also have a ton of things to do (well, it feels like it anyway). Won't be long and we will be in Disney!:woohoo:

I was sure glad that I hadn't told Erin about the Tangled meet and greet. I have to admit that I was disappointed when I found out it had been postponed.

This week is crazy busy! Between school field trips, work, and preparing for the trip my head is spinning! Just a couple more days until we are in Disney!:cheer2:

Today we will be heading to Hollywood Studios! Last year this was one of our favorite days, so I am really looking forward to it. This is supposed to be a non-Fantasmic day, so I hope the crowd level won't be too bad.

We will be doing the Rope Drop dash to Toy Story Mania

disney09196-1.jpg

Another must do for us today is to see Indiana Jones. We have never been to Indiana Jones or Lights! Motors! Action!, so we really want to make a point to catch at least one.

Erin is very excited to be tall enough for Rock n' Roller Coaster this year. I didn't get a chance to ride it last year either, so I can't wait!

The kids absolutely loved the Block Party Bash and have insisted that we must see it again.

My day will be complete as long as I can get a Peanut Butter Chocolate cupcake at Starring Rolls!

Plans are sounding great!!
I'm going away for a long weekend so I hope you all have a safe and magical trip if I don't get back here before you leave.:goodvibes:goodvibes

Today will be our last day in the parks.:sad1: We will try to make the best of it at Animal Kingdom!

disney09425.jpg

We plan on beginning our morning with a Safari ride. I can't think of a better way to start the day.

disney09440.jpg

Ava is so excited for the next item on the list. She is tall enough for Kali River Rapids! She is really looking forward to getting wet like Erin and Stu did last year.

disney09462.jpg

disney09471.jpg

If Erin and Stu are anything like last year, today will include many ride on Expedition Everest.

disney08067.jpg

The girls loved the Lion King show last year, so it is another must see.

disney09506.jpg

disney09517.jpg

The girls also want to spend more time at the Boneyard this time around. I might have to try Dinosaur for the first time while they play!

To end our fabulous trip we will be having dinner at 'Ohana! We absolutely loved this meal and the atmosphere at the Poly. My tummy is grumbling just talking about it!

This should be a fantastic way to end our vacation!

Your day 6 and 7 plans look great!

I know what you mean about this week, I am just hoping to get us all packed in the next two days.:scared1: It always seems to get done, sometimes I just don't know how!

I have to admit that I have had the girls and I packed since last Thursday!:rotfl: I just have the last minute things that you use in the morning before you leave to put in our bags.

Are you counting the minutes yet?
