My Favorite Villain is my Mom and Dad (New 3/8 - Finding Litter in the Magic Kingdom)

Great report so far, we take 4 boys so it's bringing back memories of December. =)
Thanks. I love experiencing Disney with my kids.

Nice trip report so far!! It seems like yesterday my DS's wore their Disney hats to the airport!:) Enjoy this time- they grow so fast. But I'm still lucky that two college age kids are spending their spring break with Mom & Dad at Disney!!:thumbsup2 Can't wait to get there in 2 weeks!!
Have a good time. I always wonder when I hear people tell me their kids are too old for Disney.

"I'm certain I need to begin every day with the Magic Kingdom Welcome Show!"

Totally agree! Last trip (second week of Dec 15) was the first time the 2 and 4 year olds saw the rope drop show and I don't think I've ever seen the two so excited... well until the 4 year old met Donald later that is. =)
It always puts a smile on my face too.

Loving the report so far! Going in June and hoping to make our first ride Peter Pan, too. Would love to see the Welcome Show but we only have 1 day in Magic Kingdom planned. What's it like? I haven't been to MK since I was 8 years old
Thanks for commenting. Keep reading trip reports here to get ideas and enjoy your trip!

Happy faces for such an early hour, wait they're going to Disney World! Great start.
They did well all week but we were tired by the end.

We headed for our favorite mid-morning snack.

I could eat one of those right now
Aaaaahhhh :cloud9: When I know my day is going to include one of these, I wake up like a kid on Christmas morning lol!

Yes it was Starwarsmom. Makes me want to go back right now.

Joining in. Congrats on your first trip report!

I could eat one of those right now. We ordered 4 cinnamon rolls a chocolate croissant and a cup of Lefou's Brew which none of us had tried before. We all liked it although I think the older kids drank most of it.
Those cinnamon rolls are awesome, especially if you ask for extra icing! I was reluctant to try LeFou's Brew because I heard so many mixed reviews. I might have to get one next trip just to satisfy my curiosity.

Extra icing? I need to try that. I'm glad we only ordered one Lefou's Brew for the six of us as I couldn't drink that and eat a cinnamon roll. We bring water bottles to the park and that helped cut the sugar.

Joining in. What a great start to the day. I have a quick question. We were planning on bringing a double stroller and a single for our crew. Do you feel like your six year old was able to keep up ok or do you wish you had brought a double stroller for her just in case?

Crystal Palace

On our way to the Crystal Palace for our lunch ADR Lexi and Am stopped for the street party.

No one else participated. I think we were hungry and ready to sit down.

We checked in to Crystal Palace and I was pleasantly surprised to see some benches available on the porch outside. I don't remember how long we waited but it wasn't too bad.

I like Disney buffet's because it is one of the few chances in the year for me to eat seafood. No one else in my family likes it so we never make it at home. Alyssa's teacher gave her a worksheet as "homework" to describe her trip to Disney. One page asked for her favorite food on the trip. Her answer was the carved ham and mini corn dogs from Crystal Palace.

Our first meet was Tigger. I can't find a better picture at the moment.

My DW always tells the kids to give a character a hug before leaving and this was no exception. Except as soon as she said those words Tigger ran over and gave me a huge bear hug and licked my head.:tigger:

Up next we had Eeyore, and Lexi was fascinated with his tail.

Of course Piglet too!

We finished our meal and settled the check and Pooh was no where in sight. We asked around and we were able to catch him before going on break.CPpooh.jpg

Feeling much better we left in search of "the perfect parade spot."

Up next: The wrapper in the bush

Alyssa (DD6) did great keeping up with us. We went to Disney the same week last year and I had to pick her up a few times. She turns seven in just a few weeks, so I think being a little older helped quite a bit.
I loved being able to walk on a bus with just an umbrella stroller that folds up without taking much space. There were a few times she wished I could carry Lexi so she could sit.

The wrapper in the bush

We left lunch at Crystal Palace in search of "the perfect parade spot." Am has a friend who works at the same company (independent direct sales) in a different state who was at Magic Kingdom two days earlier. We missed seeing their family because they flew home the same day we arrived. Am's friend texted her instructions and pictures of where to find a great spot for the Festival of Fantasy Parade. Her friend even left a cough drop wrapper in a bush for us to find. :rotfl2:
Armed with instructions and a few pictures we found the spot! Am looks around for a minute and finds it....

Still there. :rotfl:

Am texted the pictures to her friend and put the wrapper in her purse. They were both at a meeting two weeks later so she returned the litter.:rolleyes1

So, where was this amazing spot? (Thanks for asking)
It was just up from Sleepy Hollow along the path to the castle. We were at the first set of benches that are inset from the path. Here is a better picture of our spot.

It's set back from the parade route but there are no people in front of us. I will explain later what we thought of spot. We still had about 20 minutes before the parade started. I think Am took Alyssa to the bathroom and Lexi started getting antsy. A few time I ran after her because she was tired of waiting for a parade. Luke kept asking to ride a ride and we were all a little hot because the sun was beating down on us.
Thankfully the wait wasn't too long and the parade finally started. By the time the floats came by all the kids forgot about the heat and enjoyed the parade.

I don't have great pictures because the floats were too far away. Once the parade crossed the bridge in front of us we had characters waving (even shouting) at us. We loved the spot and the interaction with almost every character. Captain Hook saluted me at one point and I saluted back, which prompted a thumbs up. :thumbsup2

We enjoyed the parade and left in search of a mountain.

Ok, I've been trying to multi quote, but it just ain't happening and I don't know why.

Anyway, I love the "it's 5 o'clock somewhere" comment on the plane.

I saw the picture you had with the MK parking booths and noticed the tanker. My first thought was what in the hell is a tanker doing at the Magic Kingdom, but then I remembered the gas station there.

I approve of your morning snack at Gastons Tavern. Those cinnamon rolls are awesome and I'd love to have one right now.

The cough drop wrapper story is funny! I actually can't believe it was still there. I thought Disney CM's were a little more thorough than that.

The view of the parade from that spot looks good. Maybe not the closest, but an unobstructed view is always great. It would actually be nice to be back farther so that you can take in the floats easier anyway. Those things are huge and you're constantly craning your neck to see it all when you're right there along the parade route. Getting a spot with nobody in front of you from that far back would actually be pretty awesome!

I am enjoying your report so far. Your kids all look so happy and excited to be at WDW and I love the matching t-shirts!

We laughed about it all week. If you look at the picture with my DW, you can see the fence behind her. The wrapper was on top of a bush at ground level because of the embankment that goes down to the stream. I think location and only two days time (with no rain) allowed it to stay.

You have such a sweet family!!
Thank you!

The kids definitely love WDW. Lexi often tells us that she "rode the monorail" when we ask her about pre-school. :rotfl2:

I can't wait to read more. We have 2 girls about the same age as your girls and their first trip is next February. I love to read other trip reports with kiddos the same ages. Keep it coming!
