Jan, that's beautiful. You *are* going to have it enlarged, matted, framed, and hung in your house, right?

You don't have to answer this if you don't want, but how much of this was skill and how much was just a happy accident? I noticed you shot in Av with +1/3 EC and partial metering with a manual white balance. Sure seems to me like you knew what you were doing.

Thanks but well, you know me , accidentally on purpose:rotfl2: i was trying to apply some stuff i had been reading about for better landscapes and trying out my neutral density filter( although i can't remember if i used it here or not:confused3 ) sort of my own little mini photo camp vacation;)...i really think the light is so much better ie more interesting, in Fl, no idea why. maybe cause there is actual sunlight?
i usually use partial since that is the closest i have to spot and manual wb. but i wish i had been braver and gotten this guys release since i could have entered into the contest there for a couple nights stay( and gone tentless if i did due to our unfortunate accident:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: )

I have one similar to that :).. Not nearly as good as yours, but I do like the way those types of shots look..

i know nothing about fishing but i loved watching/photographing the fishermen
the only thing i hate is realizing they are actually catching "something" in the water i was just swimming/wading in and what else might be hunting for some "dinner" there :lmao: i know bull sharks are in Indian river lagoon and the cove pond that guy was in is connected to it:rolleyes1

I'm certainly no expert so if I'm wrong someone please correct me, but I was under the impression that if the subject wasn't identifiable you are able to use the image without a release.
Seems like your silhouette shot would fit that category.

Well in mine, my nephew was bait casting. Catching small fish that were going to be used soon as bait for bigger fish :). I have a feeling that's what they are doing in the OP's picture also.

AMAZING

Like jaw dropping amazing.

Excellant job.

WOW can I ask what your setting were?? That is an amazing shot.
