My fast pass idea...

Ok, maybe this would make it TOO easy, and therefore nullify the usefulness of the fast pass but...
Wouldn't it be nice if there were fast pass kiosks at the times board, for example the big board in the center of Epcot where they post the wait times for rides? Just one per ride would help immensely.
We were thinking that you see the board, and there's a 120 min. wait for, say soarin', so you run over there to get a FP, only to find that the fast passes are gone or a too late return time. If the kiosk for the fast pass was right there at the center of the park, then you could get your fast pass for soarin, and for Test track too, at one central location.
Am I dreaming? I know that the wait board location at MGM is too crowded for this. I am not even sure where the MK and AK boards are. But wouldn't be nice not to have to run all over the park?
:lovestruc

I just posted that idea on another thread. I totally agree and I dont understand why they haven't done this yet. It would make so much more sense and save a lot of time for guests.

That sounds like a good idea BUT I think it would cause a huge jamming of people into one area rather than dispersing everyone throughout the park. It wouldn't be very safe, as people would probably be pushing each other to get to the machines. Good idea in theory but not in reality! :earsboy:

Good theory, but I agree with kanga, I think the areas would get too crazy crowded. Also, would you still have fastpasses at the actual rides? Because if so, then you would have two areas where they were available, most likely causing them to run out faster, even for the less popular attractions. :confused3

Yes, and yes, I wondered about that too. But I think if you could control the crowds somehow, that it would be worth the convenience. But I know its a fantasy!

I think that it would be a good idea if they could say the FP return times at the wait time kiosks - that would work out well, but I wouldn't want to always run to the center of teh parks to get my FP... What if you were at Coaster and you wanted to go to Tower...or if you were at Muppets 3D and wanted to go to Star Tours... You'd have to go ALLLLL the way back to the center of the park. It's a great idea, but I don't think it's entirely pheasable.

Right, I didn't mean eliminate the fast pass machines at the rides, I just meant put additional ones, say one per ride, at a central location. I hate running all over the park, especially with little ones in a strolller, especially when its hot and crowded! :sunny:

I think crowd control would big the biggest driver to this theory. Maybe they could put 5 FP rides in one section (say Innovations East) and another 5 at (Innovations West) to break up the crowds.

i think they could just add a number at each entrance to the land that ride is in ( like maybe 2-4 for each ride at the major entrances and 1 per at the little entrances..it only take a few seconds to get the pass so the lines would move fast then at epcot add some at each entrance and in the middle. mgm you really only need 2 anyway imo :) and they are both close ( tot and rnr ). it would be a pain to have to fight crowds just to get a fp but the more machines, the less crowds at each machine. when youget to the land, you get the fp and then do other none fp stuff till time to ride. if each machine only gives out a certain amount then that wouldn't really change anything. never saw an empty fp machine since we go off season but i presume something shows the machine is done for the day
