We are doing the Family Fun Run 5K in October! We have our room, race registration, car rental and airfare set. We're only spending 2 nights at WDW (so sad). Anyway, our ADR window is opening soon and the only request my family made for dining was "something Italian".

Where would you eat? TIA!

The only one I would recommend SKIPPING is Tony's in the Magic Kingdom. There is Il Mulio at The Swan, along with Via Napoli and Tutto Italia in the Italy section of the World Showcase. I would love to try them but unfortunately, DH dislikes Italian food. :(

I was going to suggest Il Mulino at the Swan as well if you want "fine" Italian. It is a little pricey but worth it. The decor, service and food quality go hand in hand, I highly recommend it.

Thanks! I never heard of this place. I was planning on staying in the parks but that sounds like a must try!

It's a somewhat new restaurant. It has been opened a few years, but there was another Italian restaurant in the same location prior to Il Mulino that was called Palio (which was also very good).

We had a very nice dinner there several months ago (Il Mulino). We know one of the servers who worked at Palio prior and he brought us some different things to try. It was a great experience.

The only bad issue we had is that they put us in one of the side rooms which has about 6 tables. There was another table of 6 or so adults in that room and no one else but us but they were obnoxiously loud and drunk. It was so annoying we asked to be moved after we dealt with this for an hr. and I'm sorry we waited so long to ask as they were more than happy to move us.

So, if you do go there, don't let them seat you in a side room with another table full of adults who can't act considerate when they have to much wine.:) Otherwise you will enjoy. :thumbsup2

If you do want to stay in the parks Tutto Italia was by far the best meal I have had at WDW yet. (I will admit I haven't tried any of the swan and dolphin resteraunts yet though)

I love Wolfgang Pucks Express at DTD for spaghetti! Mmmm it is so good. And reasonable, not to expensive.

I think the best Italian on property is Portobello at DTD. I grew up with a great grandma that was born in Sicily and am pretty picky about my Italian and of the places I've tried they are the best. I have heard good things about Il Mulino but after looking at the menu online we decided to go to Portobello for our pre-marathon meal in January and I was very happy with the food and service even though they were absolutely packed.

On a side note, enjoy the 5K. I did the Wine & Dine last year and it was a fun race. Make sure you hit Epcot one of those days for the festival.

My DD did the Princess Half in February and we all ate at Via Napoli the night before and loved it! We've also eaten at Mama Melrose and enjoyed that, too.

Il Mulino at the Swan and Via Napoli are the only two places I would reccomend going to eat Italian food.

Since you are going to be there for only 2 days I personally would spend as much time in the parks as possible. Therefore, I would with either Tutto Italia or Via Napoli at Epcot or Mama Melrose at HS.

Another vote for Il Mulino! The complimentary Limoncello makes it a "must do".;)

If you choose Il Mulino, there are restaurant.com certificates available. Wait until they offer an 80% off code to buy the certificate. Never pay full price for a restaurant.com certificate. They always have coupon codes.
