My family's 1st trip to WDW. Update 11/28 So Sad It Is Our Last Day Pg 10 Final Post

Great start, I'm listening!

I have a question about POR: which building where you in? I can see from the room pic that you were in the AB section, but which number was it? We're headed there next January for three nights.

Just found your TR, great start! LOve all the pictures :) We too just had our first family trip @ POR in JUNE, best trip ever!!!

Can't wait for more!

Just found you here! Count me in, too! :cool1: So far, wonderful TR, Nancy! Our family will be staying POFQ in January but we plan to spend a lot of time over at POR so I am very happy to read along to find out what you thought if POR! Keep up the good work! :)

What a darling family you have!

What did your DH say when you didn't have to pay for the CS meal at Cosmic Rays? Did he understand the DDP?

Love your photos! And now I really, really want to make it to see the MK opening show. :)

I'm looking forward to hearing more about your trip.:yay:

Great start, I'm listening!

I have a question about POR: which building where you in? I can see from the room pic that you were in the AB section, but which number was it? We're headed there next January for three nights.

We were in building 25. It was about a 5-10 min walk to the food court and ol' man island. I kept making the mistake of going right when leaving our room because it felt like the main service area was that way. If I went right out of our room it took me down all of these curvy paths. If you go left and go behind the building past the quiet pool it led me straight to the path to the lobby/food. It took me a couple of days to figure that out. Mickey pointed out to me that the the sidewalk to the lobby had a different style to it so watch for that.

It was about a minute away from West Bus Depot. I really liked the West Depot as it was either the first or second stop. :) We were also just around the corner from the quiet pool.

Ok, I know everyone is curious about what I meant by saying there were two Goofys’ working at LTT but I need to back up for a moment. I left out an important detail. Ok not an important detail but I should also add for those of you keeping track of the attactions we were able to do on a busy hot Saturday in Aug. that we also went on Snow White’s Scary Adventure and Haunted Mansion before we left MK for our break. SW was maybe a ten min wait and HM was about 30. This is the peak time of around 2 pm.

We get back to MK sometime between 6:00 and 6:30. We take this picture:

Then we get a FP for Big Thunder Mountain. We decide to check in for ADR a little early. This was one of our longer waits for a table but not the longest.

I know everyone is curious about how there are two Goofys’ working at LTT on the night we are there so here is Goofy #1

Here is Goofy #2 having to set the table.

IM000797.jpg

That’s right it is my own Goofy.

Here is my Goofy and our waiter Raymond. Raymond is a a hoot and made our dinner one of our funniest. :lmao: Raymond picks on my Goofy the entire meal. He makes him set the table, put out food, puts him in the broom closet along with a few other things. It is all in good fun and I admired Raymond for getting my Goofy to do the things I can’t like set the table. Here are a couple of more pictures of how Raymond picked on Goofy:

Here is a shot of the food although Mickey thinks I am taking a picture of him getting the food:

Mickey still thinks it odd that I took a picture of him getting food.

The food was just ok. My kids love Stouffer’s Mac and Cheese and they didn’t care for it here. They are picky. :snooty: I liked the flank steak and thought Mulan would too since she likes steak but she didn’t. :snooty: :snooty: It was a fun meal though and we are at Disney to have fun, right!

My favorite part of the meal was dessert. The apple cobbler and ice cream was scrumptious. Goofy said that he really liked it too. He said “The warmness of the apples mixed with the coldness of the ice cream is delicious”. Goofy watched a little bit of the Food Network over the summer. Here is a picture of Goofy with the entire bowl of apple cobbler and ice cream because of course Raymond sat it in front of him expecting him to serve everyone:

One more picture of the kids and Minnie just because I am her namesake:

After dinner we head over to The Hall of Presidents hoping it will make it up to Mulan that we aren’t in Washington DC. She likes it so I think she has forgiven us. Then it is off to use the Space Mountain FP obtained before leaving the park. Boy I love this ride. Mulan does too. :cool1: We then walk back to use our FP for Thunder Mountain. This is also fun but it was dark by this point so we can’t see all the details. The parade is about ready to start. The line is short at Big Thunder so we do it again. Here is a tip: Lines during parade times are a very good thing! ;) After Big Thunder the parade has started. It is crowded and we try to get through. We find a spot behind a bunch of people and watch a little. It is hard to see it with the crowd since we weren’t actually planning to watch the parade. I do know is that Ariel has met one of her objectives of the trip and buys this at the gift shop by Big Thunder Mountain:

We then get close to the entrance and watch a little of Wishes which starts at 10 pm. We think it is almost over so we head to the bus stop only to realize that they are no where close to being over but that is ok we can see them from bus stop. The fireworks are very cool! We want to get to bed because tomorrow we are doing early EMH at EPCOT! Very daring for the family that doesn’t do morning very well. Will we make it to EPCOT by 8 am?

Next: Confessions and loss of body parts at EPCOT.

Cant wait to read more. We got 10 more days before our first trip. We will be staying at POR as well. Glad after reading this that we changed our Chef Mickey to breakfast. Like how you named your family. All I have is my goofy (DH).

Thank you for the answer, I will certainly keep in mind the tip about the sidewalk style, didn't know about that. I have requested building 14 or 18, but on the other hand, as I think we will not be using the food court that much (if at all), we would probably be perfectly happy in another building nearer the other bus stops, so I will certainly not be too disappointed if we don't get what we requested (I know they are the most requested buildings).

We also requested building 14 and 18 but were told when we checked in that they were at capacity and not everyone can have those buildings. Understandable in my opinion.

Yep, breakfast is generally a safe meal. I think I would be willing to go back for characters and breakfast.
