This is a bit long, but I just had to share it with people who understand.

For those of you who don't know, my name is Jennifer, I'm single, 27yo and live with my parents in Southern Maine. (For those of you who are curious - yes, I still live at home. It's a choice that works out for all of us and one I'm proud of!)

Anyway, in January, I will be taking my parents on their first cruise (DCL of course) and their first trip to WDW. I, myself, have only been to WDW twice and both times were this year :) This is a gift to them and a celebration of their 40th Wedding Anniversary. My brother, his wife and their 4 kids have decided to join us on the first part of our vacation - the 4-night cruise on the Disney Wonder.

I've been working on this trip for a little over a year now and I wouldn't have gotten through the year without Pam's patient help and support. I'm sure many of you know how hard it is to plan a trip and have no one in your family excited about it. Also, when more than one family is involved, it can be nerve racking as I am the only one who wants to do ANY planning and everyone else thinks they can just show up like they're going to the beach or something.

Well, I've kept my excitement hidden for a while, but it's almost
time for our 90 day window to start for PS's and NO ONE is talking
about vacation at all!!! I just couldn't take it anymore.

Now for why they think I'm nuts . . .

Before our church replaced their windows, in the winter, they'd cover them with plexiglass. When they decided to get rid of all the plexiglass, we got one of the huge pieces - about 6 feet long and 4.5 feet tall. So, I pulled it out and cleaned it up. Then, I printed each day of our 15 day trip in a large, plain font, big enough to see from across the room. I taped each day to the plexiglass and put it in the living room. So there is a 6'x4.5' piece of plexiglass with 15 pieces of paper taped to it, full of DCL/WDW information leaning against the window seat for all to see. Now they can't help but see it and it actually worked!! We're talking about vacation and they're making some decisions!! Yiipppeee!!!! Of course, they all think I've cracked, that I'm a neurotic planner, and that I have a Disney problem. It's official. . .

Hi, my name is Jennifer and I'm a Disneyaholic. It has been 42 days since my last trip to WDW and 92 days until my next trip.

Thanks for listening and for your support! Any comments can be sent privately to me at maine_jennifer @ yahoo.com (no spaces)

it is okey.......we still luv you.......ROFL........you are good and I think you will have an awesome time with the whole crew.......if you need to yell scream or vent....just give me a buzz......

I know how you feel. It's so hard to plan a trip and not get excited. Our last trip was this past September. It was our 8th trip, and Stephen just couldn't understand why I was so excited. The planning, the research, the lack of sleep, he just couldn't understand. However, once we arrived, he was happy I'd spent so much time planning.

My daughter is getting married this summer (no official date yet), and she has asked me to plan her WDW honeymoon. I think I am as excited to plan this trip, and I'm not even going. I am paying for it, not going, and giddy with excitement about the fun they'll have.

Yes, I'm a disneyaholic, and proud of it!!!

<--------------now wondering where I can get some plexiglass.

That is too funny! Join the club. I am a fellow Disney and vacation ADDICT!!

Welcome to the Club:wave2: !!!!!

My DM thinks the same of me - she is even "bragging" to all her friends at work about me. I told her that she will appreciate my obsession next week when she isn't standing around looking like she doesn't know where she's going!!!!!:teeth: :teeth:

I have made up itinary's and printed all the info out that I could find and made her a book. I also saved her a bunch of money!!!!

I think they are finally getting excited, cause she keeps calling me, wanting to have ANOTHER WDW Meeting to go over stuff!!!!!:hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

How about getting a DCL planning video?

The planning video got our "first time to Disney" relatives extremely excited for the trip!! (either that or they were faking it for me, I loved it regardless!)

 Hi Jen,
That is great that you are able to do that for your parents 40th wedding aniversary! I'm sure all will have a wonderful time. I've been to WDW 4x, Disneyland 4x also. Next summer we are planning a family get together and hope to stay at OKW. My older sister is the "planner" and I am more spontaneous. That is why we went together this summer with the FTP, I could not wait another year. With 8 of us it is going to be a challenge, but I am sure it will all work out. Anyway I can understand your excitement.:) My sister , two of our nieces and I are about the only excited ones in the party so far.
Being from Montana you can imagine the reaction we got from our family when they heard my sister and I were considering investing in DVC membership. ( We can at least dream about it for now anyway;)
If we are able to book a 2bdrm villa with OKW next summer I bet they will be seeing things a lot differently! Anyway I can hardly wait until I get back to WDW!:hyper:
January will be here before you know it. Enjoy the planning and the cruise!
