My family thinks I'm crazy..but I know you all won't! Back and my TR is started!

As for the snack list...I copied it into a word document and then shrunk down the font a bit. Then I cut out the snack places we weren't too interested in...like at the resorts we weren't going to be visiting at all. And I also cut out most of the drinks that were listed at most places (like soda and water and such) b/c those are pretty much offered at every place. I basically just printed up snacks lists for MK, EP, AK, DHS, DTD and AKL. When I was gluing it into my journal I cut and pasted to make it fit better on the pages...and I still ended up with 9 pages!

Good luck making yours smaller. Hope my suggestions help!

I still need to do this! I need to concentrate on the filling food snacks to suppliment James as he won't have any food credits. Also, I want to make sure I don't miss the good ones!

My dh is finally starting to get interested in the Disney talk. For the last 6 months I've been discussing it and getting the unhuh, whatever you say dear. Now he's going, it's almost time to go, tell me again what we are doing.

This gives me so much hope for DH! Maybe he too shall see the lights on the castle before we get there! Glad he's getting involved now though!

just want to say that for when you're going you should be aok on touringplans...very low crowd levels. Would almost do better with the 'cheat sheets'.

Love the binder. Is it 8.5 x 11?

Thanks! We've been in May before so we know what to expect crowd level wise. In fact, if you can believe it, our very first trip we didn't use a single touring plan because I didn't know about them then (now I'm much more Disney savvy, thanks to touring plans and the DIS ;))!

My planning journal is about half the size of 8.5 x 11, about 8.5 x 5.5. Easy to carry and use in the parks :thumbsup2

I think you will really be fine even though he won't have his own credits to use. We did 3 previous trips to Disney on the dining plan w/ our DS under 3. My DS is a big eater too and we never had a shortage of food. The portions are just bigger at Disney. And half the time, the kids were a little too excited/wound up/exhausted to eat as much as I thought they would!

And it's such good news that your DH is getting into the spirit! Mine is getting more and more excited as the days are counting down. It's so much fun to talk about what we'll be doing 2 weeks from right now (just finishing up a morning at MK and heading over to EP to mosey around world showcase--in case you wanted to know!)

There's always hope...hope, trust and pixie dust; isn't that the saying?? Besides, those castle lights are pretty bright at Christmas time--he's bound to see them before you get there! :goodvibes

So, in an attempt to get ready for Disney, DD and I had our hair cut today. DD's turned out cute. She got it cut pretty short. Mine on the otherhand, not so much :sad2: My hair is thick, so I generally have long layers cut in it to thin it out a bit. Well, the shortest layer is just too short, so it makes the top of my hair look poofy . I am so disappointed. You know how when you are expecting to get a fabulous new haircut and it's just not what you wanted and you wish you could start all over again? Well that's how I feel right now--it's putting a real damper on my Disney excitement. I guess I'm mostly worried b/c I don't want my hair to look ridiculous in all of our pics. And it's too short to pull up into a ponytail so that option is out of the question!

On a happier note, I started putting outfits together and packing today. Too bad it isn't doing much to improve my mood. :guilty:

Sorry you don't like your haircut! I'm sure it looks fine :goodvibes

I'm planning on getting my haircut about a week before our trip, I've got it really short right now, and I've been due for a cut for a week or 2, but I want it to look cute for Disney ;) Well, yesterday I found out my hairdresser (and sort of friend... we don't hang out, but she cuts my hair and we go to the same church... facebook friends  ) decided to go and have her baby 7 weeks early! Obviously there are more important things then my hair at stake, but I'm nervous about getting it cut now... the last time someone I wasn't familiar with cut my hair it was a disaster that took 2 years to grow out completely.:scared1:

That sucks :guilty: But, they say the difference between a good hair cut and a bad one is 2 weeks...or so I was told when I was in that situation

I am sorry you are not happy with your haircut. That is why I hate going to get mine cut. I did get it cut at the end of March, I figured if it sucked it would have a chance to grow out. But I went in with long straight hair and came out with shoulder length (with layers) of wavy/curly hair! :scared1:

I am trying to learn to deal with this new hair type (not a perm, it just did it on its own) and the waves are making the haircut be uneven.

Terri

PS: I did my online check-in today!!! :cool1::cool1:

I am sorry about your hair! It stinks to be excited about a new look, and then not get what you were looking for. I usually leave the salon liking my hair cuts, but then am never able to get it to look good once I'm home doing it. And that's why I end up going years between salon visits!

I wanna start packing! But I keep getting distracted before I can start. Just 10 days left to get my act together!

Oh no! I hope the person you get to cut it does a good job! A bad haircut for Disney = :sad1:

HHHMMMMM :scratchin...I wonder if this is true? If so, it might not look so bad by the time our trip gets here.

:thumbsup2 for online check in! Tomorrow is our 10 day mark so I think I'm going to do it then. Maybe it will lift my spirits....

I should have gone with a beginning of April haircut because then it definitely would have had time to grow out. Do you think "bad haircut" is listed as a reason to postpone our trip under our travel insurance?? :rotfl:

The funny thing is, is that I haven't had my haircut since last September (in fear of this very situation). Of course my hair is longer so I can go longer periods between visits. Why oh why did I think it was a good idea to get my hair cut right before our trip???

I finally started packing today. Got all the kids outfits organized and packed. They all fit in one carry on! One less bag we need to check and more spending $$ saved for the trip! :thumbsup2

I am sorry about your haircut not turning out right! I hate that! Could you use the butterfly clips to clip it to the sides maybe? That way it might take away from the "poofey" look? Feel better you'll be sweating in Disney soon and hopefully having so much FUN that you will forget all about it!

Sorry your not happy with your new haircut! I'm always nervous about changing my hair! Hopefully you can figure out a way to fix it so that you like it.

I'm thinking that I am going to play around with it and use some sort of clips to be able to clip it back. If not, then I figured that since it looks ok when it's wet, maybe I could just walk around with a spray bottle of water and constantly keep it wet??

And I have a feeling that by the time we get to Disney that I will be having so much fun it won't really matter!!

On another note, DH really likes it so I guess it can't really be all that bad, can it??

Thanks for the encouragement! I really think the only way to fix fix it would be to have it cut more, which I definitely don't want! So I'm going to try a temporary fix with clips until it can grow out a bit. I think once it grows out an inch or so, it won't be bad!

Today is a good day. Why you ask? That's because our countdown calendar looks like this....

:woohoo: Woohoo for single digits!! :woohoo:

Seemed like it would never get here, but it did get here all the same. Can't wait to get on that plane in just 9 days and head to warmer weather! :beach: It's also fun that we can now start to see the extended forcast for our trip. Love that! :yay:

Time to take a look back at my to-do list to see what I have left to do (and what I may have added to it since the last time I posted!)...coming right up!

I haven't posted a update on my to-do list since page 15! Yowsers! But boy do I have alot to cross off.

So here it is...
  • pre-order photopass--done!
  • make and laminate LGMHs--done!
  • finish last year's scrapbook--almost done--guess how I've been spending my Spring Break??
  • exchange a t-shirt I ordered from the Disney store--done but ended up w/ just a return. They were all sold out of that shirt now. :(
  • play around with the video of DS's bday taken on our new Playsport
  • ask neighbor to feed the cat while we are gone--done!
  • order gift cards 'from Mickey' for the kid's Easter baskets--done!
  • make our planning journal--done!
  • pack--started but not done yet.

But alas, as much as I am crossing off, I have a few more things to add. So I figured it was time to have a new list. ;)
  • finish last year's scrapbook
  • play around with the video of DS's bday taken on our new Playsport
  • pack for DH and I--kids are done
  • pack carry-on bags
  • return a hat to Old Navy (found a better one at Toys R Us)
  • exchange a tee shirt at Target for DS
  • print off an updated crowd level spreadsheet and put in planning journal over the old one
  • put alternate F! shows into planning journal
  • check on show times at DHS for Indiana Jones, Beauty and the Beast and Disney Junior
  • spa appointment

And finally, a day-before-we-leave-to-do list
  • finish packing whatever isn't already done
  • vaccum
  • clean bathrooms
  • take out trash
  • water house plants
  • have DD work on some of her make-up work
  • load luggage in van
  • add all chargers to carry-on luggage (cell phones, playsport and kindle)
  • give catfood to neighbor to feed cat
  • set up final arrangements with friend who's taking the dog
  • get dog food, bowl and cage together in garage
  • check in one last time on the DIS...okay, maybe a couple of times! ;)

And, I think that sounds like enough! Unless there's something that I forgot...
