My family thinks I'm crazy..but I know you all won't! Back and my TR is started!

:cheer2: You've inspired me to get to work on my planning journal!! I went to the hobby store and picked up some Disney stickers from the scrapbooking section, and this morning I found the perfect Mickey journal to use!! I've already gotten a few pages done :goodvibes I will post pics in my PTR as soon as it's done!!! Yay!!! :thumbsup2

I'm too scared to try MS because if it does make me sick, then I'll feel sick the rest of the day, so it just isn't worth it to me. Rode star tours when I was younger and haven't been on it since! DH won't ride the green side because he says its for wimps, so he sticks strictly to orange. He has a stomach of steel!

I think our DH's would get along well. :lmao: Mine isn't too crazy that I'm forcing him to go Green this year (since DS is tall enough to ride).

I love your journal and calendar too (Can't remember if I commented on that)! You are so crafty! You've inspired me to do my own calendar. I spent the better part of my afternoon putting it together...:lmao:

Your plans seem to be coming along so well. I think you might have them memorized by the time you land in Orlando! :cool1:

Can't wait to see pics on your PTR!! Don't you just love all the Disney stickers in the scrapbooking section?? I totally get into trouble when I go there, so I try not to go too often!

DD will be tall enough to ride Orange this year. I think she has a pretty strong stomach, but I think I may still make DH take her on green first to see if she wants to try orange. He probably won't be too happy about that! ;)

Oh, and by the way, thanks for the kinds words about being supportive of teachers. I know there are parents out there who are, and those are the ones who keep me going when I'm feeling down :goodvibes

Thanks! You better be planning on posting pics of your calendar on your PTR. I love looking at other people's stuff! And I think you may be right about the memorizing my plans stuff. DH wanted to know why I was even making a planning journal because I do usually know most of our plans by heart when we go. :rolleyes1 But I figured, I should have it all in one place just in case and it makes a nice keepsake for later, so I can always remember exactly what we did! And I really do want to journal in it this year to make it more unique--DD will be able to help me with that too.

I hadn't considered letting my DD go Orange with DH ... Don't tell him that we could split up. :lmao:

You're more than welcome. I know teachers don't always receive the appreciation they deserve. I try to make it a point to let the teachers in my kids' school know how much I appreciate their efforts. I also volunteer in the school on a daily basis (sometimes for an hour, sometimes all day) in both kids' classrooms and anywhere the Principal (or Vice Principal) needs a mom. They are overworked and underpaid, and I can see it first hand. So hold your head up high and do what's best for your family. Even if it means using your personal days as intended. :thumbsup2

I had to come over to check out your PTR. I love your creativity. We've had movie nights, but I haven't themed them. My kids don't know that we are going, so we are just calling them family movie nights and they have to pick Disney movies they have never seen. We did Pinocchio and I almost needed tooth picks to hold my eyes open...lol But it had that affect on me when I was a kid too. I love the binder idea, I may steal it, so that I can have something to keep me busy until we go.

What time do you arrive at MCO? I know we will be arriving on the same day. We are staying at AS Music. AKL and WL are my dream resorts, I just love the theme of them both. I also love the Fort, because it is so peaceful and you don't feel like you are in the middle of major theme parks.

Sorry that I rambled a little. My thoughts are somewhat scattered this morning and I want to get them all out.

I look forward to meeting you at the Epcot meet on the 7th.

I'm the same way. I'm scared of MS, but I might try it at the end of the night one night... of course it would be the green side. :lmao: That way if I'm not feeling good after, I will be going back to the room to relax.

Pictures are up!

I memorize my plans too, thats why I had to give you a hard time! And it also works when DH asks me a question about something and I'm busy, I just say, "check the binder!" which will either satisfy his answer, or just create more questions. "Oh, whats this place...I like this menu...when are we going...ooh, that looks fun..." and before you know it, he's created his own touring plan for the day. :lmao:

I should journal this year, too. I used to when I was a kid because my mom would encourage us to write journals on our bigger vacation trips each year. I mostly did it for the joy of picking out a pretty journal and new pen...:rolleyes1 But I've looked back on a few when I was packing things away before I moved away for college, and they are wonderful keepsakes! I know you and your daughter will cherish those memories as they are that much more special when they are fresh in your mind. :cutie:

Just a quick update, as I am on my way outside to enjoy the beautiful weather and get some yard work done! :cool2:

And the official count is now at....

I've got another you know your a DISer if...

...Just the other day when I was grocery shopping, I realized how obsessed I am with Disney planning (or maybe it's just that our trip is so close...) because when I glanced at the expiration date on the orange juice carton I was putting in my cart, I noted that the expiration date was May 15th. And all I could think was '*sigh* that's not a day I'm looking forwad too...we'll be back from Disney by then.' :sad1: Is it bad that even things in the grocery store remind you of your trip??

So there, you have it folks. You know your a DISer if your orange juice carton can remind you of your upcoming Disney trip! ;)

Good for you for volunteering in your children's schools! The schools and teachers need all the help we can get! :goodvibes

We arrive in the early evening, fingers crossed that we don't have any more changes with our flight! You are a brave girl. I don't even think I'm willing to try MS, even if it is right before we head back to the hotel at night. A bus ride after MS does not sound like fun to me!

Saw the pics on your PTR--you did such a nice job! I'm impressed that your DH would even look at your planning journal...I don't think mine would be caught dead doing that! ;)

:cool1:Yay for the mail! I can't wait to hear how everything went when you get back! Then I can steal--- I mean "borrow" a few ideas for my family :rotfl2:

Yippee for Mickey Mail!! Those luggage tags are cool, I like them better than the castle ones! I am jealous again because I'm guessing I won't get them since our trip is on DVC points ;). Oh well!

It is almost here!!!!

 I do the same too when thinking about dates that come after the trip.

I am so glad to hear that I'm not the only one who does that. I wouldn't EVER dream of admitting that to my family, but I knew that you guys would understand! :rotfl:

Boo for no luggage tags. :sad2: .....

......But double yay for being a mere 3 weeks away!! :woohoo:

:banana::banana: yay for Mickey mail! I can't wait for that! your trip is so soon!

I know, it is really really soon. I can't believe how fast April seems to be going. February and March seemed to drag on and on, but April is flying by!!

It's nice to have some fun things here and there between now and Disney. We have Easter coming up in less than 2 weeks, and then next month there's Mother's Day to look forward to and then a couple weeks later Disney! :cool1:

Are you gonna do a trip report when you get back? If so, maybe you'll be started before I leave. That might keep me entertained too :surfweb:

I do that with Milk... Last year I bought it and thought, I will need to pour that out before we leave because it will expire while we are gone. Or the other day I was looking at the sour cream that we bought and it expires the day after we get back. :( So sad. :lmao:

I didn't think of the bus ride back... hmmm I'll have to really think about it, because the simulator at a local science center gets to me. They had to stop the ride in the middle of it to let me off. :sad2: I wouldn't have made it the whole ride. As it was I was sick the rest of the day.

On another note, I talked my SO into giving me some money to buy a note book so that I could make a journal. He relented and I made a really cute one... I have to wait until I get paid to add the stickers though. I used some of your ideas, so thank you so much for posting them. I'm trying to figure out if I have anything else I need to add. I have the crowd calendar (broken down by park), ADRs (I typed a header for Notes and receipts and then added the ADRs under the day we will be doing them.). I couldn't think of anything else. Especially since we are not planning out what park for what day..

Yes, things to keep me busy up until we leave for Disney is good :)

And I do plan on writing a TR when we get back. Gotta do something to keep the magic alive!

Glad to hear that your planning journal is coming along. Are you on the DP? What about a list of DP snacks? I'm going to post that list here in a few minutes since a couple of other people were asking about it already.

Since you aren't planning specific parks for specific days, maybe you want to make a list of must-do's for each park? Then you could check them off as you do them!

After I posted pics of my planning journal a few people were asking about my Snack List...this post is for them! :thumbsup2

Here is the thread that I used to get my dining plan snack list from...

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2640292&highlight=dining+plan+snack+list

All I did was copy and paste the list (see the first post) into a word document. Then I was able to cut out what we didn't need. Viola--a custom made list for our family. You could make it as short or as comprehensive as you'd like.

Hope this tip helps somebody else!
