Thanks so much for joining in! I'm headed over to check out your PTR. I love reading about the plans of other people who will be there around the same time as us!! :goodvibes

I have some time so going back to what I do best, cost out yet another option of this vacation while my husband roles his eyes at me, good thing he works away from home and doesn't see the endless scapes of paper on the floor and the guide books scattered everywhere..........Not to mention the time spent on these boards everyday, my son now thinks I work on the internet.....:surfweb:

:lmao::rotfl2::lmao: i am just catching up but could not resist laughing at this.

:surfweb:Wow finally I read all the way through. Yesterday I found yours, read the first few and then had to get back to work so caught up.

Glad you finally found someone helpful at Delta to get your flights straightened out after they totally jammed you up. Don't you wish EVERY ONE did customer service like Disney. sighhg:lovestruc:lovestruc that would be wonderful.

I am a little envious of your CL rooms. I was reading CL descriptions at WL where we are as at home as you are at AK. Looks so nice, and would mean no grocery delivery....but somehow I don't think the price will work for us. I may ask my TA to be sure though. I have been telling the voices in my head that maybe just maybe we would get a free surprise upgrade on check in. That would be the best birthday present ever for hubby!!:dance3: hey, a girl can wish, right?

Read through your whole F! .... the first time we did F! we got in last minute, stood up with DD on DH's shoulders and loved it. The second time we did a pkg and were not thrilled about having to arrive so early and just sit there. I was like, we could be doing more rides instead of just waiting for the show! SO this year, no package, will just mill in with the crowds and hope for the best.

Your day plans look great! Thanks for sharing! I love reading your plans & comments, give me some good ideas to add into my own plans!

I have decided to do the same thing for F! this year. Besides, I really wanted to eat at Ohana but had no open nights to fit it in! Then the other night, I was able to snag a 5 pm ADR to Ohana on our F! night. So I am going to drop the F! package and we'll do dinner at Ohana instead. Since we've eaten at Mama Melrose's before, I don't mind missing it on this trip to try something new! After dinner we'll just head over and get in line for F! I know this means we won't have any park time to do rides or attractions like I orgiginally planned, but we'll be at DHS the next day and should be able to fit in everything we want to do then anyway. Besides, from our past experiences, I know that the lines on F! days at DHS are outrageous. And the only reason we are bothering to go on a F! day is to see F! itself. ;) Keeping my fingers crossed that this strategy works for us!

I'm joining as well. We're going at the end of May, SO excited! We are surprising my dd10, as her birthday is 5/30, we're calling the surprise on her for that. We're actually going with some friends that we "met" on the Dis back in 07 and have spent the past 4 years chatting with, some meeting in person, etc, until we are super close and talk almost daily, so that will be extra fun. I let dd12 in on the surprise, and she is enjoying knowing something that sis doesn't. LOL. We are staying for MOST of our trip at WL, and had PLANNED to book CL with the discount, but then the weekend that we were ready to book, the CL is no longer available with the discount! So we are going with a woodsview bunk room, which they will still love... and maybe we'll get some pixie dust and be able to upgrade when we get there.

We did Jiko just us and had our girls are the Simba's cubhouse in December when we went, and even though my girls are older, they LOVED this. Its too bad that my oldest will be 13 on the trip, I would probably try to take them again!

:lmao::rotfl2::lmao: i am just catching up but could not resist laughing at this.

Thanks, my son asks who I talk to all the time on these boards and I reply "these nice people are helping mommy with our trip to WDW this year", his last reply was "this trip must be difficult if you need sooo much help"

So I am glad that the trip planning is going well, we have now officially downgraded to poolview with bunkbed, no more CL, but i am sure that the safari ride in the park will be good enough for us. I wish I would have gotten my act together and started a pre-trip report but I don't think my writing would be as good as this thread....

Counter says 72 days to WDW Wahoooooooo :woohoo: :yay: :cheer2:

Welcome! So glad you're here :wave2: I love "meeting" new people through my thread!

Your DD is going to be so excited...I feel like 10 years old is a good age to surprise them because they would have a fabulously, ridiculous reaction!! I hate it when you call to book something and the date has passed to book with a discount or all the rooms you want are gone! Hopefully you get a surprise upgrade. That would be SWEET! I'm always jealous of the upgrades I hear other DISers write about (We've never gotten one before, can you tell??)

I'm also glad to hear that your kids like Simba's clubhouse. I called last week and booked it for my kids, so they won't be going to Jiko with us this year (yay for a Disney date with my hubby! :lovestruc). After I booked it we were sitting at dinner one night and I brought it up. I told them I made a special reservation just for them and they would get to have dinner and play games and watch movies and do crafts while we went to have our own dinner. They are VERY excited about it! The only concern DD had was that she wanted to make sure that DS would be there too...so sweet. She didn't want him to miss out on the fun and she was worried he wasn't old enough. Guess she loves her little brother after all!

Know what? I always LOVE LOVE LOVE it when you post on my wall. Want to know why????? Because one of your tickers is a day count down, instead of a month/week count down. So everytime I see you post I feel like it's a little closer to my trip because the number of days seems less than the months and weeks :rotfl: !!!! Not sure how that logic works, but it works, so I'm not arguing!

You are going to love AKL no matter what room you stay in. And I am jealous of your bunk beds. I sure would like to have some to have a little more space. I did put a room request in because some of the CL rooms have bunk beds, so we'll have to see if we get them or not. Evidently they give priority to familys with opposite sex children who are older--which I totally understand. Mine are younger so of course they don't mind sharing a bed. Heck, I don't think that they'd mind sharing a bed at any age if it meant they got to be in Disney!! So I'm not expecting the bunk bed, but it would be a nice surprise to find them in our room when we check in! :goodvibes

AAKK! It's been a while since I posted an update! Shame on me :guilty:...

I have actually been putting off posting about my last couple of days because it makes me sad to plan for those days and post it. :sad1: It is ridiculous to feel this way, but I do. Does anyone else feel this way? Maybe I should come up with a new saying...

You know you're a DISer if....you hate to plan the last days of your vacation because it makes you sad. ;)

Our next Disney Family night was supposed to happen this past weekend, but we had some family come in from out of town unexpectedly so that threw a wrench in my plans. Disney family night is now this coming Saturday. If I stick to my every 2 week plan then we will only fit in 6 more before May. Sssoooo, we might have to do back to back weeks a couple of times so we can fit in all the movies we want to do before our trip. The kids will be happy to hear this.

And you have to admit, it does make May seem closer when you say that we only have 6 more Disney movie nights to go....:woohoo: There's that vague Disney math again...

So, I do promise, another update pronto!!

That does sound very close! I printed a disney calander and we ahve been marking the days since we hit 100 but its still 4 seperate pages so it looks long. But when I couldnt weeks and factor in busy weekends it should go fast. We are trying to get a bunch of movies in. This weekend is lion king I think. Happy planning

May does sound close when you look at it like that. I have a envelope pinned on my wall that I throw money into each paycheck. I have the dates listed that I get paid and cross it of as I put in some money. Only 6 more paychecks to go and then we'll be in Disney (get paid every other week)!

I can't wait!

Glad to see that you all are enjoying the movie nights! I do love them because it gives me some alternate way to channel all my Disney obsessiveness! :rotfl2:

I like this idea of having a specific place to keep money each pay check and then crossing off when you add to it. What a great way to visualize how much your saving and to motivate you put more $$ in (instead of spending it)!

And woohoo for May not seeming so far off! And it's almost March now, so that means only 2 more months to go until we leave...it can't get here fast enough :yay:

So we FINALLY got around to doing our next Disney movie night and it was a GOOD one!! It was DD's pick for the evening and I think she surprised us all when she chose...

On the menu for the evening was:

Carsnight015.jpg

Pulled Pork BBQ race cars and 'Mack' wheels and cheese.

We also had Radiator Wings.

For dessert we had a tire tower and oil dipsticks. I came up with the oil dipsticks last minute b/c DS is allergic to eggs so he can't have doughnuts. Poor baby. :sad2: But in the end, the oil dipsticks ended up being the resounding favorite part of the meal! :thumbsup2

DD and DS enjoying dinner....

We had such a good time watching Cars. We actually haven't seen it in awhile, so it was extra fun!!

It's DH's turn to pick a movie for next time, so we'll see what he comes up with! Until then, it's back to more planning for me...:rolleyes1

hahaha i had to laugh when your daughter picked Cars, bc that is so something my daughter would do. You would think Princesses, Tinkerbell... but no she would pick Cars!

ps~~ thats exciting your son is so close to the 40" mark!! I'm sure even if he doesnt hit it, with shoes he will be good to go on those 40" rides!! I'm praying my daughter hits at least the 39 1/2" mark! shes now at 38 1/2"... and she actuallyu grew a 1/4" since her birthday in the beginning of january! so i'm hoping that 4 yr old growth spurt hits again before May 30!! lol...

:worship::worship::worship:please please please let your son and my daughter grow to hit that elusive 40" height requirement!! :worship::worship::worship:

I hear ya' on the growth spurt! Come on pixie dust :wizard:

I really can't believe that DD picked Cars. She really does love the princesses and Tinkerbell, although I think she is kind of starting to get out of them. I've noticed that recently. I swear some days she's getting to big for her own britches.

LOVE your cars movie night, super fun.I am stealing the food ideas. We see Cars on a biweekly basis here, lol but I think Ill do a Cars Party night for the release of Cars 2 in June.

I love the Cars movie night! The dipstick idea was so creative and I, like others, just might have to steal that food idea.

So cute! I love it. Your family looked like they had a great night!

Thanks for the compliment--we did have a blast!

Feel free to use any of my ideas...I wouldn't be posting them if I didn't want others to benefit :goodvibes I did get started by looking at other people's ideas and then creating my own from there. Some of mine came from the disney family theme nights thread.

I cannot wait for Cars 2 to come out in June! It's a fabulous idea to do a cars night for that--I might have to break it back out this summer ;)

I am so jealous of your movie nights! Every one of them have been so creative.
Loved the pickle wheels on the sandwiches- very nice touch!

I absolutely agree about not wanting to finish posting my plans on my PTR. I stalled putting the last day up for a while... now my trip seems so far away, because everything is planned and all I can do is wait. Impatiently.
