My family thinks I'm crazy..but I know you all won't! Back and my TR is started!

So it would appear that the majority of my readers are go with the flow type of people and they do a lot of winging it when it comes to F! Love the laid back, joe cool attitude.

At this point you all have inspired me to drop my F! package and try a more relaxed approach. I'm not going to cancel the package just yet (you know in case my type A planning personality takes over and I change my mind ) but I do believe I see a cancelation in my near future...

I'm working on another update. If DS cooperates and naps here in a few (now that would be magical! ;)), I may get it up this afternoon.

OK, so last time I left off with plans, I was discussing our day 3 morning plans which was to head back to DHS and do some more touring. Lunch was at Sci-Fi and then after lunch leads me to my next set of plans...

Day 3 (afternoon/evening) Wednesday 5/5

12:30 Sci Fi Lunch
1:30 Back to resorts for nap/swim
3:30-4 Head to the Hoop De Doo Revue for the 5pm show
5:00 HDDR (this is a change from my original ADRs. We've done HDDR before and loved it but I wanted to try the Spirit of Aloha show. Although, after reading reviews, I didn't want to chance not liking the show/service/food/seats, so I thought we'd go back to HDDR. I know, I know, I'm a creature of habit!)
7:00 Head back to MK to do the parade and fireworks. If we get to MK in time we may ride some rides, or just park it somewhere and people watch.

I picked to do the fireworks/parade this night because the next day, even though we'd like to be at MK for rope drop, we don't need to be because we have a later breakfast ADR.

Day 4: MK day (again) Thursday 5/5

8:00 RD--will we make it?? It's an early EMH day, so we'll see!
8-10:00 Tour MK and hit anything we haven't already done
10:20 breakfast at CRT (nice break from touring and DD requested this)
12:00 Head over to Epcot to tour around WS. (OGM slushies are on my must do list for this trip!!!)
When we get tired, head back to the resort.
Late/afternoon and early evening we are going to relax at the resort by swimming/naping/apps & wine in the CL lounge!
7:30 dinner at Jiko--I'm thinking of making this just DH and I by reserving a couple of spots in Simbas clubhouse for the kids. We've never done this before, so we'll see!
We plan on making this an early night. If the kids go to Simbas clubhouse, we'll pick them up right after dinner and head back to the room for bed.

I hate that one of our MK days falls on an EMH morning, but I made the ADR at CRT before park hours and the EMH schedule for May was released and then I didn't want to go back and change around all my plans and ADRs just to change CRT. We've been on an EMH morning before and it wasn't too bad. Besides, I think the plan to hop to Epcot once crowds start to increase will work well for us! :thumbsup2

Next update: Have we forgotten about AK altogether? And what movie will DD pick for movie night--the suspense is killing even me!

I like your plan to hop to Epcot after your CRT meal. Hopefully you will get lots done in the EMH and first couple hours before the meal.

Thanks so much for your reply! You are such a big help! I had been looking for PIN help ever since I heard about them but it seemed like everyone was already in the know.

I'm having so much fun keeping up with your PTR that I think I might start one myself. Obviously, it'll be my first report. I definitely do not have as many interesting things happening with my trip planning so hopefully it won't be boring.

Yay, Hoop De Do Revue! We saw that in September and I just loved it!

I don't like when EMH days fall inconveniently, but at least you know ahead of time! I've made the mistake of heading for 'rope drop' at 9 when the park opened at 8 (at DHS, totally messing up any plans we had for TSM...)

Breakfast will be a nice break, good idea to do it a little later, I think!

Our son will also be in the kids club at AKL on the Thursday and again on the Friday for a couple of hours so that hubby and I can have some alone time and a quiet dinner at Jiko without him (just do not think he would appreciate the food there, he is adventurous, but we need one dinner by ourselves). We are not doing the F! dinner package either, actually we probably will not even line up to see it, we are a very early morning kind of family and end up being dead tired by 7-8pm at the parks so we will head to the resort after dinner and put in some pool time and story time by the fire pit.

We have all but decided to downgrade to the pool view room from CL, I just have to phone and actually change the reservation. Will also be giving up the Sunrise Safari but we have breakfast with Donald planned in the park and will then hit safari ride.

The Donald Safari breakfast at Tusker House is great! It is one of our favorites and a must do every year! You will love it :)

I see your PTR link in your signature and am headed over there in a few to check it out...

We haven't seen HDDR in 2 years, so I am really excited about going back to see it again. We loved it too!

Showing up for RD at 9 when the park opened at 8--OUCH . Does throw a kinker in the plans, but hey, it happens to the best of us, ya know? I mean, there is a lot of planning that goes into a Disney vacation, and you're bound to let something slip your mind every now and then...:rolleyes1

.....that DS is 39 1/2 inches!!!!

I even measured him barefoot and we still have 2 1/2 months to go, so I'm certain that he can pull out another 1/2 inch before May 2nd! I'm thrilled that this means he will probably be able to ride some of the big boy rides, like BTMM, TT (and maybe even ToT??? Wonder if that's too scary for him. hhhmmmm...) I guess I just assumed he'd still have to sit out for a lot of those rides like he has on our past 3 trips and it just occured to me to measure him today. So glad that I did :goodvibes

It's funny...on our first family trip DD was not even 4 but she was 44 inches so she rode all the big rides that she could...all 3 Mountains, TT, Soarin, etc. I never thought twice about her not riding. But now that DS may be tall enough, I'm like, he looks so tiny, is he REALLY tall enough to ride TT or ToT??

Guess he'll always be my baby but he's growing up so fast!! :worried:

That is so exciting! I am sure that he will enjoy going on all of those rides he couldn't before :goodvibes

Day 5: AK day Friday 5/6

8:05--Tusker House breakfast (RD is @ 9 this day)
9:30--straight to the Safari, and after that on to:
EE--DD rode this last time, but wasn't a fan of the big hill . She may not do it again :sad2:, but we're hoping she will! We had to buy the photo pass photo of her riding it for the first time. It WAS HILARIOUS and totally worth the $30 or whatever outragious amount they charged me. I need to scan the pic onto the computer so you guys can see it...best picture. EVER.
FoTLK--have never seen this and I will see this come h*** or high water.
Dinosaur--if DD will ride again, she rode last time, but admitted it was scary
Primeval Whirl--DD will finally be tall enough for this! Doing a rider swap b/c both DH and I want to try this one out.
Tricera tops spin--for DS while DD and DH ride PW.
Locate Devine!
1:30 lunch @ Yak and Yeti
Both P and M forest trails
Back to resort to rest/freshen up.
7:10 dinner @ Narcossee's--contemplating another night for the kids at Simba's Cubhouse.
After dinner, Epcot has EMH hours this night. If we aren't feeling too tired, I'd like to head over to see if we can catch some shorter ride lines while people are seeing Illuminations: Nemo (if we have the kids), TT, Soarin' and MS for DH. Will check use our Lines app to check wait times after dinner to see if a trip to Epcot is worth it)

And now that I'm writing and getting closer to the end of our trip, I am actually starting to get sad. :sad1: Only 2 days left to plan.

Up next: Another family movie night!

I stole your idea and tonight is family movie night here in celebration of our 100 days until disney. I found Amazon On Demand has 101 Dalmations so going with that (1986 vs.) We are doing pizza planet pizza, DH and I are having a beef recipe on baguette and maybe Ill make ratatouille as well just keeping with the theme. Still deciding on dessert, maybe just ice cream sandwiches since ods keeps asking. I would like something more Disney/Mickey so Ill keep looking at WM. Thanks for inspiration.
I am sure you will havwe more to report about in planning, things always come up. I am trying to take it slow for that reason though:)

What about Mickey sundaes? Do a scoop of vanilla ice cream and 2 oreo cookies for ears. Then add m & m's for eyes and a nose and whatever other toppings you want. Or to keep with the dalmations theme, you could have puppy chow...yum. melt peanut butter and chocolate. Put chex cereal in a large ziplock back or tupperware container with a lid...pour melted choc/pb mixture over cereal and toss. Then while the chex mix is still wet, add powdered sugar and toss again. It is oh so good.

Hope you guys have a good night!

ooo your puppy chow recipe sounds delicious!

Devine?! I was told that Devine wasn't there anymore when we went in 2009. My boyfriend keeps talking about when he went and was disappointed last time that they got rid of (her?). We even asked a CM and they said that management made that decision despite being a great "attraction". :confused3:

Ill have to try that one day. I was already out when you posted it but I am sure they would like it.
I found Toy Story Gummy Army men so I have those, Cars plates, and dalmation movie. I didnt have time to get black and white plates like I wanted and WM didnt have it.

How exciting that your DS will be 40 inches! Hope he has lots and lots of fun on all those new rides!

I'm excited for your first time seeing FotLK! It's such an awesome show, and the first time is magical!

We are thinking of checking out Epcot EMH Friday night, too. At least it's an option, but we'll probably be too tired in real life :rotfl:

Toy story gummy army men??? Cool! I'm going to have to keep those in mind for when we do toy story--did you find them at WM?

I know what you mean about being too tired in real life. Sometimes, even the best laid plans don't pan out. But somehow it seems ok when things don't go quite like you expect when you are there, because after all, you are still at Disney! ;)

Gee, that was easy...I searched on the DIS and found posts from Nov/Dec 2010 confirming that people had seen Devine on their recent trip. And she's still listed on the steve soares site and I think he keeps that pretty up to date...here's the link:

This is good news for us, as we'll be able to see her in May. Never took the time to look for her before and I definitely am this trip! :thumbsup2 I plan on crossing a lot of stuff off my Disney bucket list this trip :woohoo:
