My family thinks I'm crazy..but I know you all won't! Back and my TR is started!

I love Living With the Land, too! I don't garden, but I wish I did! We took the Behind the Seeds tour last trip and it was great!

I'll see you in France around 3pm, slushy in hand!

I know what you mean about departure day lunch- we had a Coral Reef ADR last year that we had to cancel, ME just comes so dang early!

I'm sure you'll have a great time at whichever park you visit on Mother's Day!

The one thing I hate about ME is how early they pick you up to leave :headache:

Can't wait for our DIS meet...don't know if I'm more excited about that or the OGM slushies though :rolleyes1...but put the 2 of them together and this is me now...:hyper: hehe

Enjoyed your PTR and kind of felt like I already "knew" you after recognizing your movie nights pictures (from that thread).

Thanks for coming over and checking out my PTR--I "recognize" you too! Always glad to have a new face around :goodvibes I love it when I see people on my thread that I "know" from other threads!

So we FINALLY got around to doing our next Disney movie night and it was a GOOD one!! It was DD's pick for the evening and I think she surprised us all when she chose...

Here are some more pics of the decor. I was so glad to finally have an 'easy' night to decorate for! I had so much fun with this one! :goodvibes

On the menu for the evening was:

Carsnight015.jpg

Pulled Pork BBQ race cars and 'Mack' wheels and cheese.

Carsnight020.jpg

We also had Radiator Wings.

Carsnight013.jpg

For dessert we had a tire tower and oil dipsticks. I came up with the oil dipsticks last minute b/c DS is allergic to eggs so he can't have doughnuts. Poor baby. :sad2: But in the end, the oil dipsticks ended up being the resounding favorite part of the meal! :thumbsup2

DD and DS enjoying dinner....

....and here they are of course enjoying the oil dipsticks!

We had such a good time watching Cars. We actually haven't seen it in awhile, so it was extra fun!!

It's DH's turn to pick a movie for next time, so we'll see what he comes up with! Until then, it's back to more planning for me...:rolleyes1

love it :)

Love your PTR! I'm a little late to the game, but I just discovered these boards a couple weeks ago! I'm planning our families first trp for May 31-June 4... so excited!

Thanks! :thumbsup2 It's funny that you mention our Disney family nights...we haven't done one for 2 weeks and I wanted to do another one this weekend. But DH picked Atlantis and for the life of me, I cannot come up with any food ideas to go with the movie. :headache: Guess I need to think about it this week and we'll wait and do it next weekend.

Love your PTR! I'm a little late to the game, but I just discovered these boards a couple weeks ago! I'm planning our families first trp for May 31-June 4... so excited!

Welcome to the DIS! So glad to hear you are enjoying my PTR :goodvibes I'm having a great time writing it! It's giving me something to do, so I don't drive my family crazy talking about Disney every waking moment...

As nice as it is knowing what to expect when we go to Disney now, sometimes I wish I could go back to the time before our first trip. The anticipation of our first family vacation (to Disney no less!), was so flipping fantastic! Enjoy every minute of it :cloud9: And it's great that you found the boards before your first trip--all the info will really help with your planning. Don't be afraid to ask questions or people's opinons. Everyone is happy to help and the more you plan, the better your trip will be! Sadly, I didn't find the boards until after our first trip, but I've been addicted ever since :rolleyes1

It's official...full fledged, non-stop, borderline obsessive Disney planning mode. WARNING: this type of planning can be hazardous to your performance at work or can drive your DH crazy

Symptoms include (but are not limited to)...

*Creating spreadsheets of park and EMH hours, your daily schedule or your ADR information when you should be doing actual work at work. :rolleyes1

*Talking your DH's ear off late at night about ADR's, crowd levels, park days and touring plans...all of this while laying in bed, while he is trying to go to sleep because he has to be up at 5 am the next morning for work.

*Having your DH actually fall asleep while you are talking Disney because it is an un-Godly hour at night and you have to be up early for work the next morning.

*Not being able to sleep at night because you are too excited...nevermind that your trip is still 2 months away!

*Coming up with crazy new Disney projects for your trip, even though realistically, you won't have time to get them all done. Projects may include: creating a Disney binder/journal, homemade autograph books for your kids and an elaborate countdown calendar for your upcoming trip OR finally finishing up that scrapbook from your last Disney trip.

*Even though you've had your schedule mapped out since your 180 day mark (or maybe before!), making changes your ADR's and park days (again!) in a futile attempt to make your vacation perfect.

*Having Disney dreams that are borderline nightmarish! :scared: (is nightmarish a word?? if not, then it definitely should be) Hypothetically, maybe your most recent Disney dream goes something like this: you check in at AKL only to find out that you've been upgraded to a 1 Bedroom villa. Nice. The CM leads you to your room which happens to be in the basement of AKL. WHAT?!? But you figure, who cares where the room is because you got such a great upgrade, right?? You get to your room and the door is little--you and DH have to crouch down to get through it (think little bitty door from Alice in Wonderland). Once you get in the room, it's normal sized, but not normal shaped. Instead of being open and wide, the room is long and narrow. Then, here's the real kicker...you step out on the balcony to check out your view of the savanna...which is crazy anyway, I mean you were IN A FREAKING BASEMENT. How could there be a balcony, let alone a view??...but that isn't the craziest part. It's what you saw when you looked out from your balcony. The CM's on break were hosting and betting on zebra and giraffe races right on your portion of the savanna! :scared1: WTH?!?!? That's when you wake up. Thank goodness. That dream was just so wrong on so many levels. It probably makes it to the top list of weirdest Disney dream. EVER.

Not that any of these things have actually happened to me :rolleyes1 , I'm just saying they COULD my friends, they could.

However, if these things were happening to me (or to you!), then at least there is a cure! The one and only cure for this Disney craziness is...you guessed it...a trip to Disney! Good thing we are only 50 days away :cool2:, I mean, just in case I happen to go into full fledged, non-stop, borderline obsessive Disney planning mode...

lol... I love the description of the dream. I kind of want to see the zebra and giraffe races!

:rotfl: I can totally relate to almost all of that!!! Not the dreams, not yet... but who knows, it could happen to me too! :upsidedow

Oh my goodness!!! This sounds just like me! I love the warning about annoying your DH - I do that all the time. I believe over the course of the last 4 months, I've asked DH about 25 times where he would like to eat on his birthday and what else he would to do. So far, we still have no plans. Usually because he keeps requesting we go to Hollywood Studios (which will be super crowded on that day, so thats a no no) and eat at Staring Rolls Cafe for dinner (and eat their sandwiches which are only ever available until 3 PM at the latest). Then we talk about all the different places we could eat. After these 25 conversations, we've concluded only one thing. He wants to eat a hotel. :confused3 Whatever, its his birthday, right?

Of course you know by now that I know what arrived cause I already posted on your PTR. Lucky dog you! I think I may just leave Mother's day open and decide what we want to do based on what we feel like doing.

Oh, and by the way, if you have a 2pm flight, ME will pick you up at 11am. They always pick up 3 hours before your flight. It's a pain...and the one thing I dislike about ME :headache:

:headache:boo on the three hours early. we will have to really get up early then if we want to swim before we go. poo!!

Did you download your video from DS's birthday yet? I took a fair amount of video on Saturday at DD's Girl Scout Birthday Bash so I am going to see how it all turns out when I put it together & burn it to DVD. (see DH thinks I have nothing else to do at night but complicated tech & video things. he does not fully comprehend the mom chores + DIS addiction!)

I am in BIG trouble :dance3:I have all the symptoms minus the Alice in Wonderland story line....definitely some weird resort scenario dreams, just not this one in particular!:rotfl:

My DH doesn't mind me rambling on about WDW stuff, though really if I am talking in the middle of the night, I am sleep-talking and have no idea what I am saying. :lmao::lmao:

Wow, that is an awful dream. I am always afraid I will arrive and have no hotel reservation. We are renting DVC this trip for the first time and I am terrified I will go to check in and have no reservation.:scared1: When I planned this months ago, I thought "Oh whatever, we'll find a room offsite". Now that the trip is getting closer I am getting a little more nervous. I hope it all works out though.

I love that your DH will let you talk about Disney. My DH won't even listen. I have started bugging him lately to help me pick my adr choices since I couldn't stop changing them. I guess since the trip is only 2 months away he'll tolerate it more.

:banana::banana:Two months:banana:

I love this update- so much! You are completely describing what I am going through. Minus the zebra and giraffe races (though if you're going to have a WDW nightmare, that is the most original one I've heard!)
My dreams focus more on never being able to either get in the parks, or get where we are trying to go. Yours are way more interesting!

The only thing I would add for me is:
*coming up with ways to extend the trip. Not just because you want to stay longer, but because it gives you something else to plan while you wait for the trip to get here. Sick, I tell you- I am sick.

lol... I love the description of the dream. I kind of want to see the zebra and giraffe races!

It was crazy I tell you. CRAZY

:rotfl: I can totally relate to almost all of that!!! Not the dreams, not yet... but who knows, it could happen to me too! :upsidedow

Watch out--those Disney dreams can be a doozy. Maybe you'll get lucky and yours will be nicer ;)

That's the way my DH is too--go with the flow and decide what you want to do when you feel like doing it . Unfortunately, that doesn't always work well for a Disney vacation. Lots of planning = great vacation. Not so much planning = scary vacation. I will go with overplanning every time, thank you very much. And DH will thank me later too (he ALWAYS does) when our vacation turns out to be fabulous!

UGH. I still have not played around with my video! I completely understand how the mom chores and DIS time don't always mix. After I put the kids to bed, If I make it on the DIS then I have the best intentions of getting off and doing other things, but next thing I know, it's bed time. Opps. I really need to get on that vieo though. Posting a clip of that on here would be another good trip report update!

You will be totally fine--of course you will get there a have a room! Don't worry about that. Worry about other more important things, like when will you get your first OGM slushie or what snacks will you buy at the caramel shop in Germany. Or more importantly, how MANY snacks will you buy there??? :rolleyes1

I LOVE LOVE LOVE that we are getting so close! We hit 50 days over the weekend. Love it! :lovestruc

It's funny (but definitely interesting) that I would dream about something so ridiculous. At least I know that I won't ever get bored with my own dreams . And I wish I could add the 'coming up with ways to extend your trip' obsession. You are getting really good at that, aren't you? ;)

I know how you feel!

We went last June and I simply had to come back. We will be going on May 14th. We are staying @ PO-Riverside which we are SO excited about! The only thing I'm not looking forward to is the flight. We were spoiled with non-stop last year and have to deal with the layover crunch this year. I'm dreading that because one slight delay could totally ruin things. I'm trying to stay positive and particularly excited about going to Animal Kingdom!!!

Some people out there legitimately don't like Disney but most only knock if because they haven't tried it :0) There is something for EVERYONE! :happytv:

:wave2: Hi there! Welcome to my PTR. I'm so glad that other people on here understand where I'm coming from. I feel like some people really need to just visit Disney to GET what I mean.

POR sounds like a good resort to stay at--isn't fun to be so excited about your trip. I just love that part! :lovestruc And Animal Kingdom is such a good park to get excited about--there's a lot to do there and it's so different from the other parks too.

Hopefully you won't run into any delays on the trip down. Our flight down in non stop but our flight back has a layover. Boo. It will be our very first layover ever with the kids --we'll see how it goes.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

that dream is hysterical!! i have the majrit of those symptoms except substitute DD and DBF lol

and my dreams consist of my daughter going to see her father and coming back at least 3 inches taller (hence she meets the 40" mark) and i am ecstatic... so i wake up and unfortunately she did not grow over night... wahhhhhh

I don't know about anyone else but ADR's have taken over my life, I have become obsessed with getting the perfect ressie, and being only just over a month out makes it really hard.....

I can completely relate to the husband and Disney planning, mine works away from home and when he is here it's all I talk about.....:scared1: My friends couldn't understand why anyone would be making dinner ressies over a 100 days inadvance...But looking through these posts I am reassured that I am not the only one out there doing it :dance3:

I am right now trying to rework my schedule so that I can join everyone in France on the 7th for a wonderful cocktail and put faces to screen names. I haven't decided if we'll meet as a family or I'll be there alone.....

Hahaha! You are not alone. We made our dinner reservations FAR in advance last year and did it again next year. Although I'm sure it's not 100% necessary to make reservations in advance at all, it eases my mind. I can't imagine waiting in long restaurant lines when there's so much to see!!! Where's everyone eating this year? I picked Yak & Yeti, Boatwright's & Tutto Italia. I hope I made good choices. I very much enjoyed Marrakesh last year!!! Yum!
