My family thinks I'm crazy..but I know you all won't! Back and my TR is started!

I am so jealous of your movie nights! Every one of them have been so creative.
Loved the pickle wheels on the sandwiches- very nice touch!

I absolutely agree about not wanting to finish posting my plans on my PTR. I stalled putting the last day up for a while... now my trip seems so far away, because everything is planned and all I can do is wait. Impatiently.

Thanks for the compliments on our movie nights--we've really had a good time doing them!

Also, I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one out there who feels sad about posting the last of their plans. And I'm with you on the waiting impatiently part. What ends up happening is that I usually try and rework the plans I've made instead of leaving well enough alone!

So it would seem that I have officially started shopping for our trip--we MUST be getting close now!! (64 days to go...:woohoo:) I've just gotten a couple of goodies so far, but wanted to share them with you.

First a new shirt for DS (he already has 2 that were in his new bookbag for the big surprise)...

003.jpg

And 2 new shirts for DD...

I have been having the hardest time finding shirts for her--so I was excited to find these! When we saw the Chip and Dale shirt I thought it would be a hoot to try and find them on the day that she was wearing it. I feel like they would really get a kick out of seeing her in it!! We came across them in MK one day just outside of Exposition Hall, but I'm not sure if they appear there on a regular basis or not. So, where's the best place (besides the Garden Grill) to meet Chip and Dale?

I don't generally dress the kids in Disney shirts every day, so I probably won't buy them any more. Although, it I were to come across anymore really cute ones, I probably wouldn't be able to resist! :rolleyes2

And the bigger of my purchases these past 2 days is...

Here's a front and back view...

And here's a side view in case anyone is wondering how slim it is...

I'm really excited about this camera. We already have a Flip camera, but it's 5 years old and isn't HD. It also only has room to store 30 minutes of video and I wanted more. So I started talking to DH a few weeks ago--that we should look into upgrading to a better mini camera so we didn't have to take both the big video camera and the Flip camera (which is what we've done the past 3 trips!).

I have been eyeing the Kodak vs the Flip for 2 main reasons:

1) it uses SD cards not internal memory, so we could have multiple SD cards for our trip so we could video as much as we want!

and 2) it's waterproof!

and there's a 3rd reason now that I've read the instruction booklet...it takes pictures too! (Woot! didn't know that when I bought it!)

I was in Target yesterday and they had it for $20 off, so I went ahead and bought it. Although, now I see that if I had bought it at Walmart I would have gotten a bonus SD card for no extra cost :headache:...stupid impulse buy!!

just a quick thanks for movie inspiration- we had lion king night and how much fun it was.

Love the camera! In addition to being useful and waterproof, it is also very cute!

Phillarmagic

Haunted Mansion
Big Thunder Mtn and Splash Mtn (standby for the shortest wait, FP for the other)

Head back to the hotel to rest/swim.

Head to DHS...continued in the next post...

I have enjoyed reading the updates :thumbsup2

I also just bought that video camera for our upcoming trip in May...I'm also going away next week (skiing in North Conway, NH) so I thought it'd be the perfect time to try it out. Have you been able to test it out much yet? (I just got mine last night)

 Just found your PTR!! I can't wait to hear more......hoping for FD in late October to book. I am living vicariously through you and your family! :upsidedow

Joining in, I've enjoyed reading all of your PTR so far, looking forward to more!!! :thumbsup2 I'm a total newbie and I'm learning so much just by reading others PTR's! :woohoo:

OOH This is awesome! DH and I have been talking about a new video recorder for our trip. Our Canon is big and we bought it when Katie was a baby, so its 7 years old now. and sometimes we have to hit it to make it work:rotfl::rotfl:

I will have to check out the Walmart deal now that you mentioned it. thanks!!:woohoo:

hahaha I got so excited about the camera that I forgot the shirts. talk about short term memory loss!! I have been working on iron on decals for us. Nearly finished with the designs -- I downloaded some of MilliePie's blanks (DISigners forum here onthe Dis) and bout the tee's, though DH pointed out that I need to use white for one so I will be going back to the store for returns/exchanges on tee's.

I love the tees' and chip & dale are so cute. I love them!

That is so cool! Make sure to look for me--I'll have my LGMH on me somewhere...and maybe on my DH if he'll let me ;)

I have used it a little around the house, but nothing exciting. DS's birthday is this weekend, so I plan on really using it then. I haven't tried downloading any video's onto our computer yet, so I think that will be the real test. Be sure to let me know what you think once you do use it!!

I LOVE living vicariously through other people's PTR/TR whenever our trip is really far away. So glad you are joining in! I'll keep my fingers crossed that FD comes your way! :thumbsup2

Newbie, shnewbie...spend enough time here on the DIS and you'll be an expert in no time!! ;) In the mean time, feel free to ask any questions! I hope that you'll enjoy following along :yay:

I haven't used the new camcorder much yet, just a little bit around the house to play with it. DS's birthday is this weekend, so after using it for that I'll have a better idea of how I like it. I do love how small it is though. Like you, our other camcorder was bought about 6 years ago and compared to the newer models available today, it is ginormous!!

You'll have to post pics of your tees on your PTR--I'd really like to see them! I wish that I was motivated enough make my own. But I like the convenience of picking one up off the shelf that is already done and ready to go! :rotfl:

So I'm ready to take the plunge and post my plans for our last 2 days...as sad as it might make me, it's driving me more crazy that my plans are unfinished! :crazy2:

Day 6 Epcot (all day) Saturday 5/7

*No breakfast ADR this day*--get something quick at the CL lounge.
As early as possible, head to Epcot *this depends on how late we stay out the night before!*
Head straight for Soarin' (get FP's if line is too long!)
Living with the Land--I LOVE this attraction because I love to garden, so it's a must do for me!
Get a snack at Sunshine Seasons--if we don't already have FP's for Soarin, send DH to get FP's for Test Track
Meet DH at Nemo and Friends
Ride Nemo
See Turtle Talk w/ Crush
Take a peek at all the fish, dolphins and manatees
Head to towards TT
Ride Mission to Mars--DH only!
Ride TT
Head into World Showcase.
12:30 Lunch at Chefs de France--excited to see Remy. I haven't told the kids about him, I'm going to let it be a little surprise!
Tour World Showcase and hit anything that we didn't get to on Day 4.
Visit Caramel shop in Germany! Use up snack credits--get treats to take home! :woohoo:
DIS meet in France at 3 pm. OGM slushies all the way!! Double :woohoo:!!
Head back to resort whenever we feel like it.
6:45 Dinner at Sanaa
After dinner, relax at resort. Maybe swimming? I'd like to do the fire pit if we haven't done it before this night!
Pack up after the kids go to bed--packed bags on Saturday night mean more park time on Sunday before we depart! :thumbsup2

Day 7 (AM Park time/PM departure) Sunday May 8

8 am Breakfast at Boma--Happy Mother's Day to mmmmeeeee!!
After breakfast check bags, get boarding passes, give our room one last goodbye :sad1:
Head out to a park, but WHICH park do I want to go to? Afterall, it is my day...hehehe ;)
Right now I have an 11:30 lunch ADR at Via Napoli, but I'm not sure that we could do lunch there and be back to AKL by 1:30 for ME...might be cutting it close.:scared: Although, if we got stuck in Disney because we missed ME, I wouldn't be too upset :rolleyes1 (just kidding...mostly)This is the one restaurant that I am super bummed we might not get to do. I have been over it and over it in my head, but I just can't seem to fit it in anywhere!! If only they opened at 11 am.

So, what would YOU do on Mother's day morning?? Head to a park--which one? Ride a certain attraction--what's your favorite?? Grab a bite to eat at a certain CS place or head off in search of a certain snack item?? I'd love to hear your ideas since I can't seem to decide for myself!!!

I tested my camera out last night at a Melissa Etheridge concert, and it worked way better than I was anticipating. It would do a fantastic job at Festival of the Lion King or any shows in WDW. Even though it's only got digital zoom, on the highest zoom setting you can still see things relatively clearly. The speaker is also surprisingly good. I don't think I would use it to record a night time parade or fireworks show because the lighting would be too low, and I think the only reason it did as well as it did was because of all the stage lighting. I'm very happy with the camera though! Hopefully yours proves to be just as useful! :)

I love Living With the Land, too! I don't garden, but I wish I did! We took the Behind the Seeds tour last trip and it was great!

I'll see you in France around 3pm, slushy in hand!

I know what you mean about departure day lunch- we had a Coral Reef ADR last year that we had to cancel, ME just comes so dang early!

I'm sure you'll have a great time at whichever park you visit on Mother's Day!

Any chance of doing Via Napoli another day and cutting something else out or exchanging? Maybe Via Napoli for the dinner the day before and Sanaa for lunch your departure day so you'll be in the area for ME? I didn't go back and see what other breakfast ADR's you have but maybe change Boma with a day you have an ADR in a park on the last day. This way you're already in a park after breakfast, see a little bit and then come back to the resort and be ready to go so there's no time crunch. Does that make sense?

sigh...reading every else's ADRs makes me wish we were eating at more restaurants but our budgets and our butts (well, ok mine:lmao:) just can't take it! May have to check out France....Katie would love seeing Remy.

What time is your Sunday flight? we have no park plans on our last day. I plan to finish packing and then play a bit in the pool and on the beach but not rush. We have a 2pm flight so I am sure that ME will pick us up at noon, too early to do much of anything else but swim & maybe shop & the arcade.

If I had the time (which I don't) I guess I would have lunch at Ohana at Poly or at the Cape May Cafe--- mind you I haven't ever been to either:laughing: but I feel like I know them just from posts here!:surfweb:

As for what park, I have to fess up: I love them all and on the last day I am indulgent and let Katie set the pace. She gets to pick her favs and really I just Love  watching her enjoy WDW so much that it really is my favorite way to spend any day but especially Mother's day :lovestruc

Mother's day is a difficult day for me so I just really delve deeply into enjoy my family and living in the moment.

and.....by the way....:dance3:guess what arrived at my house today?

i'll post tonight on my PTR :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Hi! I know I'm late But I just wanted to say on our last trip my nephew was on the cusp of 40". He wore nice thick soled tennis shoes and was only measured once- at Kali River. Hopefully your ds will grow to at least close enough!

Good to hear. I used mine this weekend to video DS opening presents for his bday. But I haven't had a chance to go back and watch the video to see how it turned out :headache:...so that's on my to do list tonight! Hope to get to it :)

Yes, that does make sense. My problem is that I don't want to give anything else up that I've booked on all my other days! And I did think about doing Sanaa for lunch on the last day instead of dinner Saturday night, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE the scallop appetizer and it's only on the dinner menu, so that made my decision for me on that one! Is that terrible to plan meals around a favorite dish? :rolleyes1 Looks like we'll just be saving Via Napoli for our next trip.

Of course you know by now that I know what arrived cause I already posted on your PTR. Lucky dog you! I think I may just leave Mother's day open and decide what we want to do based on what we feel like doing.

Oh, and by the way, if you have a 2pm flight, ME will pick you up at 11am. They always pick up 3 hours before your flight. It's a pain...and the one thing I dislike about ME :headache:

:welcome: Thanks for joining in...as they say, better late than never! ;) I am so keeping my fingers crossed that he will be good to go. He is so excited about riding all the big boy rides!! :yay:
