Checking back in everyone! DH knew it was too good to be true that I would stay away from the DIS completely THE WEEK BEFORE our vacation


Thank you guys for all the kind words, thoughts and prayers! It's so nice to have that support. And I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one thinking that people are just freaking crazy these days. How can some people not think about how their actions will affect others?? I will never understand!


Things are rolling right along with getting everything taken care of. I just have a few last minute things to mail out tomorrow and then that's basically it until they find the van or we pass the 30 day mark and get our insurance money. I'm still in shock everytime I look in my driveway and my van is not there. I think it's rather silly to feel that way, but I still do all the same. Now just to sit back and wait for my license and new credit cards to arrive. Hopefully my license makes it here by Saturday so I don't have drag my birth cert and marriage cert all the way with me to Disney!
It's pretty safe to say that things will be taken care of enough that we won't have to worry about it while on vacation. And we are definitely getting excited about going. Just last night while laying in bed, DH admitted how excited he was for Disney. And all week I've been thinking, next week we'll be doing this (when I'm not busy with van stuff or work!).




Incidentally, I had an update to share, but of course it got put on the back burner. Now that things have slowed down I thought I'd share a little Disney magic that happened to me on Friday. I got home from work--it had been a rough day. I check the mail, unsuspecting that anything good in is there, and guess what I find???



More MICKEY MAIL!! It would appear that after I called and changed our dining plan Disney felt the need to resend me my resort package w/ coupons. So now I have double coupons of everything for my trip as well as double the luggage tags! Not anything super exciting, but I was stoked to get Mickey Mail when I wasn't expecting it!




And so to continue my happy news, I'll leave you with this...


Only 2 more days of work til Disney...

...Wednesday of next week it's supposed to be 82* and mostly sunny in Orlando ...

...and this exact time next Wednesday we will have just finished up with the MSEP and Wishes in MK and will perhaps hit a few rides before the park closes (if the kids aren't too tired)!

So, in an attempt to get ready for Disney, DD and I had our hair cut today. DD's turned out cute. She got it cut pretty short. Mine on the otherhand, not so much My hair is thick, so I generally have long layers cut in it to thin it out a bit. Well, the shortest layer is just too short, so it makes the top of my hair look poofy . I am so disappointed. You know how when you are expecting to get a fabulous new haircut and it's just not what you wanted and you wish you could start all over again? Well that's how I feel right now--it's putting a real damper on my Disney excitement. I guess I'm mostly worried b/c I don't want my hair to look ridiculous in all of our pics. And it's too short to pull up into a ponytail so that option is out of the question!

I finally started packing today. Got all the kids outfits organized and packed. They all fit in one carry on! One less bag we need to check and more spending $$ saved for the trip!

Hi all. Just a quick update as I am super busy. Why am I super busy you might ask?



You probably think it's because I'm busy getting lesson plans together for next week. Or perhaps it's that ghastly to-do list I have created for myself? Or maybe I'm busy shuttling the kids around to their various sports practices/meetings?? Or maybe I just can't get my butt off the DIS since I am so excited about our trip???



Nope, none of the above. In fact, I wish one of those reason were the reason I was so busy!



The real reason I'm so busy, is that we woke up Sunday morning and our van was gone. That's right. Stolen. Right out of our driveway during the night. Happy Easter to us, right? Seriously. I am not kidding about this. Someone stole my minivan complete with 2 carseats in the back. Oh and my purse. And my work laptop was in the trunk.



So on top of my Disney to-do list, now I have a rearrange my stuff because my van was stole to-do list. And I'm not going to lie to you--it ain't short! I can't believe how much trouble a stolen vehicle can cause. I wouldn't believe it if I wasn't experiencing it for myself! Credit cards to cancel, police reports, insurance claims, bank accounts to close and reopen (which requires multiple trips!), direct deposits to change, automatic withdrawls for bills to stop and switch, letters to write about my accounts changing/closing, credit brueaus to notify, and a visit to the social security admin as well as DMV.



So there you have it people. I don't think it could get much worse than that. Van stolen on Easter, 7 days before vacation with all of my credit cards and license. And this whole situation is really putting a damper on my last week before vacation giddiness!! I haven't even had time to enjoy the fact that one week from this moment I will be enjoying Fantasmic!!


So sadly, all of my catching up on other people's PTRs will have to wait. As will updating my own PTR. I'm sure I'll make it back on here to update later this week. Until then, I hope all of you who are leaving in a few days like me have a magical vacation! See you when we get back and all start our trip reports!!

Oh My Goodness! My great big o so excited for you smile was just shot down, much like you'd like to shoot down whoever stole your van!

I just had a terrible Disney dream (won't bore you with the details or specifics- there were no giraffe races or anything as exciting as that ) that left me a bit nervous. I'm feeling like I need to hurry up and get everything organized for Sunday!

Want to know one of the bright sides of having my van stolen?? I forgot all about how much I hated my haircut!!

I did actually already call Disney because I was worried that I'd have to have a photo ID to check in and wasn't sure I'd have my license in time. (I can't for the life of me remember if I've had to show my ID in the past to check in!) The CM told me I'd be fine and not to worry about it--just to come on down to Orlando and have some fun! Gotta love Disney and how they can seem the worst situation seem better!

Thanks for the pixie dust! I'm so thankful that it happened a week out and not the day before we left since it has given me time to sort things out so I can still enjoy our trip.

Our package arrived from the Disney Store today!! DH and I got our t-shirts for the trip in time. Just ordered them last Friday, so I wasn't sure if they'd get here before we left. Super excited that they did.

Actually, the real reason I'm super excited it arrived on time is that it means I'm getting DH in a Mickey shirt this year--actually 2 of them!! Now that is an accomplishment!!

Now only if my license would get here just as quick...

The night before our trip...I never thought it would get here, but it did. The kids are bathed and put to bed and they were out in 15 minutes. I didn't expect them to go to bed so quickly, but I'm glad they did. DH still has to pack--nothing like waiting until the last minute! But the kids and I are all taken care of.

My license has arrived--it was in the mail on Friday. Almost better than Mickey mail...almost! I am so thankful that I got everything taken care of with the van so we can RELAX and have a MAGICAL time! I'm not going to think about it for the whole entire week


Weeks and weeks of planning, borderline obsessive planning, too-many-to-count tweaks in my ADRs, and crazy giraffe race dreams set aside, I have had so much fun sharing my adventure with you all!


Thank you to everyone who has been following along, offering up support or advice and just chatting it up with everyone on here. Although I can wait to get back, once I do get back, I can't wait to start my TR!!


I really can't believe that we get to wake up and go to Disney tomorrow!!
