My family thinks I'm crazy..but I know you all won't! Back and my TR is started!

Yes, things to keep me busy up until we leave for Disney is good :)

And I do plan on writing a TR when we get back. Gotta do something to keep the magic alive!

Glad to hear that your planning journal is coming along. Are you on the DP? What about a list of DP snacks? I'm going to post that list here in a few minutes since a couple of other people were asking about it already.

Since you aren't planning specific parks for specific days, maybe you want to make a list of must-do's for each park? Then you could check them off as you do them!

Those are good ideas.. I love the idea of the snack lists, because last time I forgot the things I wanted to try and where they were. With a list it will not be an issue!! :woohoo:

Must dos is a good idea too, then we can hop to a park that we didn't get all of the must dos done for at the end of the week, instead of trying to think of the things we want to do.

Thanks for the ideas! :goodvibes

After I posted pics of my planning journal a few people were asking about my Snack List...this post is for them! :thumbsup2

Here is the thread that I used to get my dining plan snack list from...

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2640292&highlight=dining+plan+snack+list

All I did was copy and paste the list (see the first post) into a word document. Then I was able to cut out what we didn't need. Viola--a custom made list for our family. You could make it as short or as comprehensive as you'd like.

Hope this tip helps somebody else!

:thumbsup2

Having been reading for over and hour and finally I am all caught up:surfweb:

I am just loving your plans!! So many great ADR's that I can't wait to hear about so I can chose which ones I want to do when I take my DD in 2013!:thumbsup2

I just love your Calendar, going to have to steal it for our next trip (this years is already done) and I might just have to steal some of the ideas from your journal as well. I already have a binder for big planning, but I bought a small Mickey notebook that I think I can squeeze the day to day stuff in.:woohoo:

I also had a huge problem with my flights. But unlike you it was my fault. I thought I had made flights for 8-11:30 AM but it was actually for PM.:scared: Unfortunalty because it was my fault I would have to pay over $200 to get new flights earlier in the day. I just don't have it right now and when I do get it it was going toward Disney expenses. So right now I am looking at going on stand-bye for an earlier flight. :headache:

We have F! dinning reservations at Mama Melrose at the end of May. Doing this mainly because I don't think my son will be able to be in that large of a crowd for to long. I will happily relay our experiance (good or bad) in case you want to try for it another time.:thumbsup2

So excited that you are less than three weeks away.:dance3::cool1:

Thanks for posting the snack list info. I had seen it before but could not remember where. I love your journal too! I cannot believe we are getting so close. 2 and a half weeks here!

Sorry to hear about your flight problems. I am always so paranoid that I'm going to do something like that . In that situation though, I think I would do exactly as you're doing. No sense putting that extra $$ towards the plane tickets when it could be put to better use on the actual trip.

Also, just so you know, airline employees can make changes to your tickets at the airport and it doesn't cost you a dime. I know this because last year I booked our flight and then a couple months later they released another flight for the same day that was better (it left an hour later in the morning and was non-stop so we'd get to Disney earlier!). I called to try and change it but it was going to be $75 pp to change it  I didn't sweat it though because I had booked the original flight. Fast forward to the morning of our trip, and we arrive at the airport at 5:15 am for our 6:15 am flight...we were checking in at the desk and getting baggage checked and the airline lady was like hang on one second. She plays around for a few minutes in the computer and she says, 'how would you like to fly non-stop this morning--We have seats still left on the 7 am flight and I'm happy to move you to that one. I know layovers are a pain with kids!' I was so so so so happy about this. :lovestruc Of course we said yes! I told her I had tried calling to get my tickets changed to that flight but there was a fee per person, and that's when she told me that they can change flights around at the airport on the day of the trip for no cost, just to ask and they will do it if they can! This is good to know, so it can't hurt for you to arrive early and ask! :thumbsup2 Good luck!!

Thank you for the compliments on my calendar and planning journal. I'm glad that I could share with everyone!

Can I just tell you how EXCITED I am?? Wow...wait a minute...I don't think that I can. Words cannot describe it! ;)

Just had to get on here and post that we are OFFICIALLY in the TEENS!! :hyper: It's so much fun to say 2 more Mondays until we leave for Disney!

This trip cannot get here soon enough. Who knew that DH working more would mean that I would have to work more...at home that is. Between all the housework, all the yardwork and the kids, I'm beginning to feel like a single parent! :scared: He got a promotion back in November of last year, and while I'm grateful for that, I think it's all just starting to catch up to me now. I feel like I've been going nonstop (at work and at home) since then.

OK, rant done.

Back to happy thoughts...Disney. 19 days. Aaahhhhh. :woohoo:

19 days!!! OMG!! How exciting!:cool1::cheer2:

We have exactly 8 weeks left!! Seems so far away yet so close, I still have so much to do!!! :yay:

Thank you very much for the list! I'm going to copy it in the journal when we get a little closer!

YAY happy for you that you get to go soon:goodvibes! I know how it feels though with DH working and your stuck doing everything at home- my husband works a full time job and is trying to get his own company off the ground (he's an electrician) so during the day he's gone and some nights he is too- then the nights he's home I have school board and soccer so it's always come and go! With me stuck doing housework and yard work and kid work and a personal secretary, but it's great to know that it's all for a better tomorrow!

**squeals with excitement** I need a smiley for that ...

:cheer2::banana::banana::banana: GRATS ON THE TEENS!!!!! :cheer2::banana::banana::banana:

Grats on your DH's promotion, too! :goodvibes

Oh I am a few days behind and have all sorts of excitement to comment on!!

I am just finished reading 4/4 so you MUST have your complete Mickey Mail by now. :cool1: Can’t wait to get to the next page! (today is our 30 day!!!!!!) we are dancing here all day too!!! I couldn’t even sleep last night. Sad, eh?

I love your planner! I had not even thought about putting in a page to mark daily crowd predictions – GOOD ONE! I have my mini- planner done but this is something I”ll put in my binder. I like to look over the binder in the morning with a cup of coffee to get the big picture & have in my head alternatives just in case.

The visuals are great – all those charts make your days easy to follow. I love that!

I notice that you don’t have your “not to be missed rides” – is it in your binder? I am hoping to check off the ones we did each day so that way by the end of our trip hopefully there will be no missed rides!!!

Reading on (sorry not quoting everything so it may seem random but I am writing my comments in word as I read. :rotfl:)

:sick:Motion sickness: I learned after our first Disney trip that Zyrtec is fantastic for diminishing motion sickness! Now mind you I don’t have seasonal allergies, so I don’t take Zyrtec all the time, and can’t say if it would work if you do take it for allergies. However, I research motion sickness to see what caused it because traditional motion sickness items (like Dramamine)leave me so sleepy and fuzzy that it ruins the day. Then I don’t take them and get sick, and THAT ruins the day. Anyway, motion sickness is caused by histimines, like allergies – and because Zyrtec is a 24 hr med, it doesn’t leave me all sleepy and loopy like the other ones do. For the past 3-4 years, I take it about 2 hours before I go to an amusement park. At Disney, I just take it in the morning like a vitamin. It is awesome and I think I even rode the teacups last time and di not hurl. ;-) can’t wait to see how it works on Space Mountain & Mission:Space. LOL!

OOHHH :banana:I just saw your Mickey Mail photos. Look how pretty the new luggage tags are! How exciting, they are different than the ones I have…they’ll look lovely on my new luggage :laughing:

You are in the teens….WOWOWOWOWOWOW that is so exciting. My heart did a little skip for you. :dance3:

. They said that if we would have told them sooner, then they could have went with us. But, they don't like disney, my father in law would need a scooter, and they complain that EVERYTHING is too expensive.

Terri
--- so shocking that you didn't wan to reschedule everything to include your in laws. :rotfl:
:rolleyes1

wooooohooooo for 19 days!

I sat and figured out how many of each day I have left to work. It's kinda like playing darts... I'm just about to close out the Thursdays, and I only have 1 Sunday left :rotfl:

It is exciting, and your 8 weeks will turn in to my 19 days before you know it! Once we hit the 2 month mark, time just flew by!! I guess it helps that I've had so much to keep me busy!

You are so right about doing so much for such a good reason! :goodvibes I constantly have to remind myself of that, especially when the going gets tough!

Is it sad that I moved my countdown app to my main front screen on my phone now? :rolleyes1 I had hidden it before because the number was so high it was depressing and I didn't want to look at it every time I looked at my phone! But now I love to look at it at least 30 times a day! ;)

In fact, I believe that could be another 'You know your a DISer if...' :rotfl2:

I am so headed to the store to buy some Zyrtec. If it might help, I'm up for trying it. I don't have allergies so I don't normally take it. On our past trips I've never taken Dramamine (because of how it sometimes makes me feel) I just avoid rides that will make me sick (really just MS and the teacups with lots of spinning). I'll ride the teacups once as long as they promise to to spin the cup! I'd love to be able to ride them once and spin like crazy--always wanted to do that!

Oh, and I don't have a list of not to miss rides in my journal, because I know it my head. ;)

Thanks for the congrats on both counts! We are definitely squealing with excitement around our house! :yay:

I have to remind myself as well! Especially when you need that break- like time to breath between everything! Or an adult conversation.... *sigh* At least we know they love us or they wouldn't try so hard!

OoO I just got my first smartphone a few weeks ago! What countdown app do you use?

You'll have to include in your write up how well it worked for you (please?). :flower3: I don't have allergies either but I would welcome the lack of motion sickness too! (Great find, Mary Ellen!)

I use Bonine for motion sickness. Dramamine knocks me out, but Bonine lasts all day and I can't tell I've taken anything - except I don't get queasy. It's great to not be "drugged" or drowsy. Plus, when the pharmacist saw I was comparing the two last year, he told me to put the Dramamine back, the Bonine was stronger and didn't have drowsy effects. Worked for me! :thumbsup2

(I do take Dramamine in the car, so I can sleep - but Bonine every AM when visiting the parks.)

Would love to hear if Zyrtec works. My DD is on it, so it would be one less bottle to carry.

I've heard taking ginger root helps too. I still have most of a bottle from when we went on a cruise last summer. I'm not sure if it was a placebo effect or if I never really got motion sick but every time I felt the slightest bit nauseous, I took a capsule with food and the trip was great.

You can get a bottle of 100 capsules at Walmart for around $4-5.

I didn't know there was a countdown app! I'm gonna go see if I can find one for my droid :)

I just downloaded the app! :woohoo: but *shhhh* don't tell anyone... people already think I'm crazy with the amount of research I've done for this trip. For someone who hasn't been to Disney in 15 years, I know A LOT about Disney! :lmao:

Oh, I forgot about ginger root!

Back in high school, on a bus trip, I got car sick. One of the teachers gave me some ginger root (thing) to chew on - it was kind of like a licorice stick and kept me at the front of the bus. OMG I felt better in no time. So, yes ginger root does help. I completely forgot about it. But I'm not sure to what extent. And in my case, it was an after effect that helped ... :confused3
