My empty Main Street/early entry CP morning is gone...

We had a 9:10 ADR for CP on a 9:00 opening. They told me that anyone with a 9:00 or earlier ADR could get in before opening. So I would think you could get in early if you have an 8

It might vary with CM"s. At HS we had a 9:10 for H & V with a 9:00 park opening and we were let in at 8:45. I panicked with the crowds waiting and worrying that we would be late by the time we went through the entrance, went and asked at the ADR line and they told me no problem, checked us off and let us in.

I can see that this would be a problem at HS, where they frequently have a "soft opening" and let all guests in 15 mins early, but I don't think I've read of any "soft openings" going on at MK...

Yes, they change times right up to the same day. Much if it depends on expected crowds.

I feel your pain - the same exact thing happened to me. Except my ADR is on the 16th - THREE DAYS AWAY!!! I leave tomorrow, so I'm frantically searching tonight to try to come up with a new plan. So sorry - hope you still have an awesome trip

My experience was a year ago in October 2013, but there were am EMH on DS's 3rd birthday, and we had an 8:05 am ADR at CP. We were let in at 7:45 am through the reservations line. So we didn't have a ton of time on Main Street before the crowds came in, but enough for a few pictures before we went over for breakfast. Good luck, OP!

Thanksgiving week morning hours changed...I know it's not the end of the world, and there are many more worse things that could happen, but here in the "World" this was the very tip top of my most important things list: pre-opening breakfast in the MK! When my ADR time opened up, I had secured my coveted 8:00a for the 25th (our last day in Disney). I have been checking (and hoping) that the hours would not change, and thought I was in the clear when they went through their big changes last month. But, this morning I see that my date now opens at 8:00a, so my much anticipated and must-do empty Main Street is no longer going to happen. (I've tried to secure other morning CP reservations to no avail.)

I'm so disappointed...can't even begin to convey just how disappointed I am. (If there was a deflated balloon emoticon, I would place it here).

I have 8am reservations for CP on both the 25th and the 28th of this month when MK was going to open at 9am. I'll probably end up cancelling them now.

Come to think of it, they did the exact same thing last year.

If CP isn't a prepaid meal, you'll only be charged $10 per person for the "No Show" fee. So, $30 for the possible chance to be the first to Space Mountain.

I still am in awe that people would pay $30 to be first on a ride!

Just as a note of encouragement...this happened to me last August. They changed the hours which took away my "early entry" ADR! I kept trying trying and trying for my other MK day for an 8 am ADR and had no luck UNTIL...it showed up! LOL! I mean, I kept the page on my computer and refreshed every time I walked by and finally about 3 days before my trip...I got it!!! Not saying this will definitely happen but there is a chance, especially if you're a bit OCD like me and don't stop trying! Good luck!

something to remember the Opening Show will be going on at 745 I think with the 8am opening. it can be difficult to get around the opening show

I'm sorry I know that's frustrating I was panicked about this happening before my trip as well. With it being right at opening, I would think they would still let you in a few minutes early. BUT, even if they don't, you should still be able to get in before a lot of the crowds, and you can do the best you can with pictures then. We were running late thanks to the buses (well right on time, which meant we didn't have extra time for pictures) for CRT, but we stopped and took them anyway because it was our only pre-open breakfast for the trip, and we got right in when we checked in I know it's still a pain that you won't get a jump on rope drop crowds, but you'll still beat a lot of the people that sleep in!

I would drop the ADR personally. Sounds like the real goal was to get into the park before most, which Disney messed up your plan. Use that early morning time to get stuff done as opposed to sitting TS for breakfast. Enjoy your trip.

I know it's still a pain that you won't get a jump on rope drop crowds, but you'll still beat a lot of the people that sleep in!

It's not just RD crowds when you book a character meal. You're sitting there eating for an hour or a bit more, and while in the restaurant people are waking up and streaming in more and more. It's just a real bummer.

Boooooo. I have an 8:05 CP reservation that I booked so I could get in early, beat the crowds, and be the first in the park without having to fight RD. Now I'm thinking of canceling and just going straight to the park.

I too am thinking about canceling, but I guess earlier than the masses even if it's 15minutes is something.


Our ADR is scheduled for 8am, so I'm hoping to to be let in by 745, maybe a CM will understand.

My concern now is the busses to MK will be more busy and I should leave earlier.

The good thing about this all is we are doing DHS the day before so we will have an early night back to the hotel and DH and I are up by 4:45 during the week and the kids I used to being up by 6 for school so we won't have that battle.

That's good to hear that we can get in a little early. We have 8:05 CP thanksgiving week. What time would you suggest that we get to the MK? Is the ADR line still to the left when we arrive at the entrance? Thanks!
