Hey everyone!
While I am waiting for Maggimus to get back here with her trip report and photos
I thought I would post the pics of my dress, as so many of you fabulous Disers were a big help in the selection and design of this dress. This was soooo much fun to do, and I even got to design the pattern of the lace!
I hope all DisBrides have as much fun looking for The Dress as I did!
Disclaimer: The photos are just taken with a digital camera and not adjusted for color; also I am supposed to say (per my dress designer's request) that the photos are not the best as they are non-professional and do not show details. The dress is more of a creamy color, but the flash whitened everything out. The skirt is duchesse silk satin (please don't let it be too warm on December 14th! I'll melt! I *hate* being hot!) and the lace is silk chiffon in an alcenon pattern. My veil is Belgian "princess lace" hand appliqued on cotton net, and falls to about the edge of the lace on the bottom of the dress. My headpiece is just a very simple headband style freshwater pearl and two colors of golden Swarovski crystals, on gold filled wire. My DF gave me the most beautiful chandelier style gold and freshwater pearl earrings for a wedding gift, and I am wearing those.
Okay, having said all that (whew!) here are the photos.
It is going to be lightly beaded with freshwater pearls and Swarovski crystals at the edge of the collar and around the edge of the sleeves. I am really excited, and can't wait to get the dress, which should be in about ten days. This is called "the nick of time" since I leave for WDW and my wedding in 20 days! Hope I don't need many alterations!
I feel very, very fortunate to be able to get to design my dress, headpiece, etc., and to be going to Disney to have a simple, relatively carefree wedding to a man I had given up hope on even existing--much less ever meeting! Three days from Thanksgiving--so I guess it is appropriate that I am counting all my blessings.
