Hi - I've been reading the DIS boards for a few months now - we're planning a trip to WDW in May. I just stumbled on this area today. I had no idea this section of the boards existed. It's just what I'm looking for.

I'm struggling with weight loss - I think I've lost and gained the same 5 lbs for the last 6 months. A little about me - I'm 32, have been married to a WONDERFUL guy for almost 7 years (in June). We have 2 kids, DS is 4 1/2 and DD is 2. After my DS was born I was able to lose the baby weight - I put on a LOT of weight and it took about a year to lose it but I did it. Then I got pregnant again. I gained less with my DD and thought I'd have no problem taking the weight off again. BOY was I wrong. I hit 30 and my metabolism COMPLETELY changed. I swear I can think of eating a cookie and I gain a pound :scared1: It's soooooo frustrating.

This morning I stepped on the scale - I hadn't done that in awhile - I was in shock - 191 lbs. Ugh - I don't even like to look at that number. And so, my journey begins. My dream is to hit 150. Hopefully it will be more than a dream - hopefully it will become my reality.

Just how I'm going to do it I haven't quite figured out yet. From the looks of the posts I've read here you are all very supportive and will have great ideas.

One thing I am going to do - my work just started a 10,000 step a day program. They gave us all pedometers and challenged us to walk. I started this last Monday - before I stepped on the scale.

So far I've done well - averaging 11,500 steps this week. The area I need to work on is food. With 2 little kids it's soooooooo easy to pick up the extras on their plates. That's where I need help!!!

Thanks for listening - or reading :goodvibes Wish me luck - it's going to be a long journey.

:welcome: You are right about the support you will find here. Everyone is so great!:goodvibes Good luck on your goals.pixiedust:

Welcome!!! The WISH members are very supportive, so I'm glad that you found us. It helps to be part of a like-minded group that is striving for the same goal. Take a look at some of the other journals, and you'll see that you're not alone! All the best to you! Denise

Today was a good day! It was beautiful outside so we took advantage and went to the zoo. I'm logging in with 10,965 steps and it's only 8:00!!!! Whoo Woo for me!

A good day for eating also. We're on a new budget so we took a lunch with us to save money - also saved calories since I can pack a much more healthy lunch than we can buy.

Back to work tomorrow so we'll see how it goes. It is usually easier during the week.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

WELCOME TO WISH!!!

Sounds like you're off to a GREAT START!!!

Have a WONDERFUL week this week!

Keep on WALKIN'!!

Hooray for me - a whopping 12,368 steps yesterday!! :thumbsup2

We took the kids for a walk last night to get them ready for walking at Disney. Yes, we're bringing the stroller but they will still do more walking than they are used to.

I realized that I want to do this for myself but also for my DD. She has the same body type as I do. DH and DS are exact opposite - tall and thin. I want her to grow up exercising with me - I don't remember my parents doing that with me.

Here's to another good day - American Idol is on tonight. Or as my kids say - the dancing show. They love to watch it and dance to the music. Hopefully there won't be too many slow ballads tonight.

Have a good one!

Didn't quite hit my goal of 10,000 steps yesterday day - I clocked in with 9725 - not a bad showing but I was sitting in meetings most of the day.

Today's goal - to hit the 10,000 and go for a long walk after dinner.

Motivation is sooooooo hard for me. It's easier when I see results, which I haven't yet. I'm hoping when I weigh in this weekend I can see a little something. Even a small change will make me smile.

Happy Wednesday - we're halfway to Friday!!!!!

Walking and walking and walking - that's what I've been doing. But I have hit 10,000 steps and more for the past 2 days. Yeah for me!!! That feels good - I do notice that I feel better during the day when I make an effort to get up and get some steps in.

I'm glad it's almost the weekend - I'm ready for the work week to be done! Surprisingly it's harder for me on the weekends to get my steps in - I'm going to have to really try for it.

We've got a lot to do though -we are getting ready to put our house on the market. Lots of cleaning and decluttering going on.

So far so good this week. I've hit my 10,000 step goal except for 1 day. Not bad. My new challange to myself is to drink water. I don't do a very good job with that.....so, here's to a nice cool glass of water :thumbsup2

Today was EXHAUSTING!!! We are getting our house de-cluttered in order to try to sell it. After today I'm ready to just stay here - it's probably easier. Ugh, I'm surrounded by mess. Maybe the house cleaning elves will come while we're sleeping. That would really make my day.

Officially today I have 10,175 steps but I think I can add 1000 for as much as I've lifted and moved. If only I'd organized our house sooner.....but then we probably wouldn't want to move.

Oh well, there's more boxes to fill tomorrow Yippee!

:welcome: Welcome to the DIS WISH boards!!! I think you will find some great support here! This board has kept me at least trying for the last 16 months which is WAY longer than I have ever stuck w/ weight loss efforts before  There are lots of wonderful inspirational people here!

Sounds like you are off to a GREAT start! Consistantly getting 10,000 or more steps is Wonderful!

You said you struggle w/ food. Have you considered posting your food each day to get a better idea of what you are actually eating? I did that for a long time (I am supposedly doing it now, but I am slack) It really helps you to get a better idea of what is going in. Because I did it for a while, I can now tell if I had a good or bad day without logging Every bite (so you don't have to do it forever).

GOOD LUCK:hug: pixiedust: I also think it is WONDERFUL that you want to do this for and with your daughter!! That will be a great motivator!

Have a Wonderful week!

Oh, btw, do you know what kind of pedometer you have? I have bought 2 different cheap ones in the past and they both broke or didn't work right. I would love a new one that actually works! :thumbsup2
