Hello all...

We are back from our trip and I would like to thank everyone on here for all of your help and expertise. We've been many times before but it seems I learn something new everytime I visit the board. So here it goes...

We stayed at the Camelot Inn for the first time. We usually stay at the Desert Inn and Suites but they were booked for our time there. We stayed in room 511 (5th floor) right by the elevators. We had a nice view of the parks and of the fireworks at night. The room was nicely furnished and clean. I'd heard others complain about the beds being too firm, but they seemed fine to me as far as hotel beds go. The pool was decent. My daughter enjoyed it being only 3 1/2 ft deep. The office staff was a little stuffy but other than that we enjoyed our stay:thumbsup2 and would stay there again. The breakfast was nothing to write home about but it is what it is.

Friday was our first day in the parks, we rode fantasy land :stir: rides first. Then we went on Big Thunder Mtn Railroad. Then we headed over to the Jedi Training show and got fast passes to Space mtn for later. We waited about 30 minutes for the Jedi Show. We made a sign for my daughter to hold up and instructed her to look really excited :yay: and she was chosen!! YAY:woohoo: ! She was so excited. They really do put on a really good show for everyone:) ! I loved the Jedi Master, and also when Darth showed up with the storm troopers! so Fun! I highly recommend it. We were able to hit the big rides that day with fast passes, Indie, Space Mtn, Splash Mtn. We also rode Haunted Mansion, Pirates, Jungle Cruise and Pooh. Our photo on Splash was "washed Away" because the other people on our log were doing something inappropriate  . They offered to let us ride again without waiting but we didn't want to get even more wet right then. But why oh why do people do that? Oh and speaking of people...when we went on Pirates we were seated in the last row and there was a group of teens (they were wearing matching shirts so it appeared to be a group function of some sort) They were the most disrespectful bunch of kids I'd seen in a while. It really makes me sad that they think it's ok to act like that. They were opening up their phones so the light was very distracting and then they were horsing around and splashing water on each other. Finally another rider said something to them and they seemed to calm down.
But geez...:(

We also ventured into the innovations building for the first time and got to ride a Segway  That was really fun! And I totally recommend it!
We did take a break in the early afternoon and went and took a nap and recharged and came back later that day. We ate at the Rain Forest Cafe, which is consistant at least as we've eaten there before. But we mainly went because of the atmosphere for my daughter.

The next day we hit Nemo first thing at opening. We only had about a 20 minute wait, which I understand is not too bad for that ride. No way was I going to wait an hour or two :scared1: . The ride was 'cute'. I think that sums it up perfectly. After that we headed to Autotopia :car: ...that was the first time we've ever rode that and it will be the last...I normally don't complain
but that ride is just awful.

We then got some more fast passes for Space Mtn for later and headed over to California adventures. We did Tower of Terror first then got fast passes for Soarin. Then we did Grizzly River Run. I was doing good until the very end when this HUGE water spout/geiser came up from the river. I thought it was going to go back down, but OH NO! We went right through it...I was SOAKED! It took me forever to dry. We went and hit some of the other rides in CA and then went over for the Aladdin Musical Show. I had heard this recommended by others on here and I must agree....what a great show! I loved it...even my husband who I had to drag to it told me that he was glad I made him go  . Again we took a break midday and went back to the room. Later we went to the Cheesecake Factory around the corner. We don't have one of those here and I'd never been. Now I keep hoping they build one here! The food was fantastic, the service was great! I was so stuffed when we left! We took some cheesecake to go! We did walk there but it was a bit longer than we would have liked, so we took a cab back.

Day three we slept in and then went over to do some shopping at downtown disney. Then we went to the Indiana Jones show, which was 'alright' but nothing super impressive'. We stopped over at the Bengal BBQ and got a snack, while we were sitting there we spotted Indiana Jones fighting on roof tops with random enemies, it was kinda neat. We also went over to the island to see Jack Sparrow. Now let me explain I thought this was like other character meet and greets. Um NO. I asked a cast member where to find Jack and she replied that it was Jack's Island and he went where he pleased. So here are all these kids chasing Jack around the island, wanting to talk and get a pic. But Jack is acting drunk/confused and running off. I was completed turned off by this. I don't know who's idea this is but it's heartbreaking to these kids and terribly annoying to the parents. I understand being in character but that's just ridiculous. I am still deciding whether or not I am going to send an email to Disney about it.

While we were there I noticed that Indiana Jones went down at least twice, and pirates at least once. Not sure why though.

Also, we were in a photopass share so tried to get as possible and was able to find a good amount. We got the Hook photo, the tinkerbell photo, and many other photo points around the park. I am a little upset though that it appears my stitch popping up out of the ground seems to be MIA. I'm not sure if that can be recovered or not :confused3

We ordered in a few times while we were there since our feet and bodies were so tired. We tried a chinese place and a italian place both were good. Plus we ordered pizza one time and had McDonalds another.

All in all a good time. The weather was nice, it got a little warm in the afternoons, but no rain:thumbsup2 !

If you have any questions I'd love to answer them! Thanks for reading!

Thanks for the report! :thumbsup2 It's nice to gather information for our upcoming trip next month (I love that I can say next month now!)
Did your hotel provide you the names of resturants that deliver? I hadn't even thought of doing that. That would be a time saver.
Also for Rainforest Cafe, did you have reservations?

I'm sure they would have provided them if we'd asked, but we got the chinese menu from a lady handing them out on the crosswalk on the way back to the hotel. The italian menu we found in the walkway on the ground of the hotel. Both lucky finds but I'm sure the front desks could assist you. It really was nice to not have to go anywhere else and have the food brought to us!

We did not have reservations. We went slightly before the normaly dinner rush, I want to say around 5. We got seated right away. However, when we left there was a 45 minute wait. So I would get them just to be safe if I were you.

Great report. :thumbsup2

Yeah.....that geyser at the end of Griz drenched us too. :rotfl:

I agree on Nemo. It's cute....but i won't wait more than 10 minutes to ever ride it again. (& have skipped it on our last two 2 day visits).

Great that your daughter was selected for Jedi Training. Did she decapitate Maul or Vader? :yay:

Thanks for sharing your report. :goodvibes

:cool1: She got to fight Darth Vader! Which she was extremely pleased with! Even though Darth Maul was extremly cool in his own right!

have you ever stayed at the candy cane inn? that place rules. we stay there every chance we can. we use to stay at the desert inn and suites as well as the camelot inn. the camelot had a different name when we stayed there. we go to DLR as often as we can being from AZ. Got married there in 97 at the old Disneyland hotel(before downtown disneyland).
