I have a specific question about the My Disneyland Birthday Party at the Plaza Inn and *hope* someone might have any info. to be able to help me...
I would like to book this, but I have a DD who has a peanut/tree nut allergy.
I did a search for the Parks dietary info and got a number to call, but no one ever answers, nor is there an voice mail box. Does anyone know a current number to call concerning this? Better yet, does anyone know if the cake served at this event is safe for peanut/tree nut allergies or is there an alternative that can be served?
Thank you!!!!:)

My suggestion is to call Disney Dining (a number I don't have handy at the moment) and ask them, if they don't know they should be able to direct you to some one who can help you or the resturant.

DL is pretty good about these things I have specific Dietary issues and have always found helpful CM who know the information so I would not have issues.

Could you book the party and then confirm in person about the nuts? They have people that stand out front at least 30 minutes prior to the party that help with check-in -- I am sure that person could help you if you aren't able to get anyone on the phone.

If it helps, the cake is chocolate and served with 3 little cups of frosting on the side (blue, red & yellow) and they also give you some sprinkles. I would assume the cakes are made from a prepackaged mix -- is it likely those would have nuts in them?

The party is REALLY fun and the cake itself wasn't all that important for eating. It was fun to decorate but we didn't eat any of ours.....

My DS has food coloring/dye sensitivities and can't eat the frosting that they have there. We decorated the cakes but did not eat them . The party itself is so much fun and my DS is so used to have to pass on certain foods, that it worked out fine. :)

I would also suggest a call to Disney Dining. At the very least, they can point you to a number that is answered! Disney Dining: 714-781-3463.

When we went to this a couple of years ago, the cake was actually yellow and the frosting was different colors of vanilla with sprinkles. I cannot imagine they don't have this come up quite often since peanut allergies are not uncommon. Good luck, its a very fun party for kids!

unforunately, even though it may not include nuts, a lot of things, including packaged cake mixes, are made in the same factory and on the same machines that handle nuts. For those whose allergies are severe, a peanut-free cake mix that has touched peanut-tainted machinery can be life-threatening.

I feel so lucky that none of my kids have any serious allergies. And God Bless those moms who are trying to keep their allergy-severe kids safe!

I'm sure there are specific brands that strive to make peanut-free cake mix. She would just need to know if that's what DL uses.

The current cake used is a pound cake (same cake is used for PI's strawberry shortcake). All of DLR's desserts are made in the DLH bakeshop and trucked over to the various locations for plating/finishing work. Did you call Disney Dining itself? I can tell you that the cakes for the party are plated and the frostings/decorations are put together in a separate room from any nuts used on other PI desserts. Not sure how seperated they are before they get to PI, though.
