Hi Guys

as I am now in full on planning phase I have been looking into Character dining.

Emily LOVES princess Aurora and anything Sleeping Beauty film releated and I am sure she would love the princess tea party.

Can you use the Disney Dining Plan to do this - or will I have to pay cold hard cash for it?

And has anyone done it ?? It looks fantastic :)

Thanks in advance

Shaz

that is what I thought ..

thanks .. I may just go for the Akershus Royal Banquet Hall as that is on the dining plan - it looks like it'll be about £100 for us to go

Hi, I'm pretty sure it's not on the DDP. I know someone on the Dis did it - it might have been Dixonsontour. I know that when I read about it, it was very expensive.

It was, her review here http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=38847786&posted=1#post38847786

Akershus is good value on the DDP, includes a photo, Princess characters, buffet plus an entree. Only downside was its very rushed, every time we tried going to the buffet another princess was at our table, then the entree arrived, I had to slow them down for dessert, they were wanting to bring it out before we were ready. I think they have a 1 hour turnover, not enough.

I think we got 2 photos being a party of 6.

We are going to book Akershus. Have you looked at 1900 Park Fare? We are thinking about that too.

We didn't enjoy 1900 PF at all, about 1 hour beyond our res time we evetually got in, must be loudest, busiest place in Disney, it wasn't our sort of place.

We have done 1900 PF twice....Back in 2009 we had the best time, my DD wore her Anistasia dress and had loads of fuss made of her....the step mother took her by the hand and paraded her through the resturant to where Anistasia was......the food was lovely and we couldn't wait to go back last year.....unfortunatly we thought the food wasn't as nice and felt very rushed, it wouldn't be somewhere we would now rush back to. But to be honest my DD had a ball both times....and it was all about her:thumbsup2

Have you done Tusker House for breakfast? We were thinking of PF for breakfast rather than dinner.

It sounds like a lot of dining experiences are suffering because of the rush to turn tables around. I suppose this is the price you pay for the DDP.:confused3

We rarely eat Breakfast, on DDP we do one the whole trip, trying Tusker house this year. I know now I will moan about the price even though we are on DDP, all 3 of us can easily eat breakfast offsite for cost of 1 at a character breakfast. I just don't get $80-90 with tip for a tiny bit of food, coffee & juice. I suppose if you can eat in the morning they are better value, I can't eat much till afternoon.

We did Tusker house last year and loved it....like Wayne said, breakfasts are not great value on the DDP but when you have kids, character meals are fab. We loved the food and the characters.....we would definatly go back again....also we booked an early sitting so we could walk through the park before it opened. I think we have now done most of the character meals....apart from Chef Mickeys and Cape May.

Think i've just answered you on the dibb :)

The tea party was a lovely experience but it is expensive.

I did a detailed review on the DIS - link in my signature.

We really enjoy Akershus breakfast. Was less impressed with CRT lunch but am going to give CRT breakfast a go this year,

Loving your reviews :)

I am so glad I have gone for the dining plan .. :)

Emily and I are looking at all the photos now :D
