On Friday Dec. 28th I celebrated my 39th birthday. Earlier in the week I had planned to get together with my friends Mary and Dacia. We all met at the preschool where we were teachers. I work in the infant center, Dacia had the 2 and 3's and Mary had the 4's & 5's. Back then we had Girls Night Out as often as we could but as we all went on to other jobs we busy with our lives and get togethers got spread out fewer and farther between. Mary and I kept in contact more as we are tend to chat on the phone at very late hours after most folks have gone to bed. Dacia has children so she goes to sleep earlier then the two of us but we try to keep her in the loop and make an effort to keep in touch. Well, it has been awhile since we have gotten together. The last time we were together Dacia had some things going on that we had to help her thru as best as we could. We had wanted to do more but she didn't come to us for help but we told not to hesitate if you need us we'll be there. She is doing better now but we were worried for awhile. Somewhere in the middle of that I was going be moving to Oklahoma to be with the one I love but that didn't workout as planned. I am still bummed out but I still love and talk to him. Since then I have been only working part time so money was scarce for me. Anyway, back the the report, I started a new full time job on Dec. 11 then got a paid vacation until Jan. 2 and got breifed on the medical plan available I quickly said sign me up since I have been without it for so long. I also had to get another car because my car was old and needed major repairs. This is a new beginning so I was looking forward to spending time with my friends. I spent the whole week trying to come up with a good place to go where we could have a good meal and visit. Thursday, I was with my mom and asked her where might be a good place to go. She came up with this pizza buffet place with a gigantic arcade but I thought that would be too noisy on a Friday night for the much needed girl talk. That's when it came to me Downtown Disney! I was one a mission and had to check with the girls to see if that was ok. Mary was cool with it and Dacia was
.Cool! I needed a Disney Fix and after checking the board here I decided that I wanted go to Goofy's Kitchen but when I called for reservations there were none available and would have to go as a walk in and wait up to an hour, I didn't want to eat at 9pm so I asked what is available and what is on the menu. I reserved 8:10 at Storyteller's Cafe.
Mary was to be at my house around 6:30 then we were to pick up Dacia at 7:00. I knew Mary would be late but didn't want to stress so I just kept busy until she got here. I was ready at 4:00. At 7:10 I get a call from Dacia and I say that I am still waiting for Mary and that I was getting ready to call her when she pulls in to the driveway. We have a one hour to get there with at least a 45 minute drive providing there arn't any traffic issues. At 8:10 we are getting out of the car. Now to find the Grand Californian but can't find it so we look for a CM to ask directions who is clueless but sends us in the general direction. We walk until we arrive at the bag check where the people in front of us I over hear ask about the same place we are going but I didn't which way to go. Mary is just about to walk thru the security check and I call back, "We passed it!" So, we went back and got back on track. As we walk in there are 3 carolers singing. We are running late so we stay on our path and didn't stop to listen but the pixie dust is in the air. After we past the carolers Dacia claps and cheers the singing. We are finally at the Storytellers Cafe and greeted with the scent of a bonfire and wood which reminds me of camping so I take a moment, take a deep breath, and savor the moment. Then check in, it's now 8:20ish. We are told that we will be seated in a few minutes. We decide to take a seat. No sooner then we plopped our hineys on the bench we were shown to a table. We were seated right in front of the fireplace. Mary and Dac need to use the restroom I say and look over the menu. The girls come back and request a near by table because its a little too tasty that close to the fire.
We all decide on our meal and order within a few mins. Mary had the trukey burger, Dac had the Cheeseburger, and I have the chicken melt.
The food arrives. Mary is fixing hers to her liking and decides that she needs a pickle with her burger so Pedro is walking past the table so she asked him and requested lots of them. Pedro returns with a 5 pickle spears acting as if those pickles are the heavyist platter of night, we chuckle and thank him and like vultures we each dive in to claim a pickle. Good food and good company...life is good. The mood of the dining room is mellow and relaxing. We eat until full and request boxes for the leftovers. We chat for several minutes then all of the CMs gather at our table with a cute Mickey cupcake and a song for my birthday! I usually don't like the attention but this time I was
enjoying every minute of it. I spend the next 20 minutes trying to take pictures of Mickey.

Then right before the last picture Mary said,"Smile really big" flash goes of "because I'm Pregant!"shocked->
She has been trying to have a baby for so long (10 years) I am so happy for her and her DH. That was the best birthday I have had.
