This was our second half of our Epcot day as we didn't get a chance to venture into the countries on the first day (except to eat dinner). We had no set plan for lunch (mistake # 1) and couldn't all agree on where to eat. We stopped in Mexico and had an appetizer sampler, which was delish, but really just tided us over for a short time. I also split the margarita sampler with DD and I loved them all. I especially liked the jalapeno margarita, quite to my surprise. It was so different and so yummy:thumbsup2 We did some shopping and lots of walking and by now we were starving (mistake #2) and my DS did NOT want to wait to eat. He gets to the point that he's gotta eat NOW. Hence, just to shut him up ;), we ate at the Liberty Inn at the American Adventure. I always wondered why anyone would want this fare since there are so many other good choices, but there we were! We ended up all getting the pulled bbq pork sandwich which was quite tasty. For dessert, we all got the mickey rice krispie treats which we saved for later. While our lunch was not bad by any means, I had wished we had gone somewhere else.

Overall Grade: B-

Raglan Road: We went back to the Villa to rest and regroup. I think I actually took a nap. Our ADRs at Raglan Road were for 7:30-ish I think. DH and I had discussed canceling this and going elsewhere because he wasn't sure if he liked the menu. As it turned out, it was one of our best meals of the trip. :lovestruc The restaurant was relatively empty, which surprised us. We were seated right smack in front of the stage. Our waitress was very good. She was friendly, had good suggestions and always available when we needed her. DD had the crock o'mussels, which she loved, DS had the sirloin (or was it NY strip?) that he enjoyed but later wished he had ordered what I had, DH had the coronary special--I forget what the true name of it was, but it was about 4-5 different kinds of meats including blood sausage (he LOVED it, I thought it was a little gross), lamb and bangers as well as a few other things. He ate it all and enjoyed every minute of it. I had the It's not Bleeding Chowder, which was DELISH! DS really loved it, too. We were also treated to the music of a couple of Irish dudes and an irish step dancer who tripled as a hostess, waitress and dancer and who also was from Ireland and very good. For dessert we had the Bailey's creme brulee, the bread and butter pudding (EXCELLENT) and I had some kind of merinque concoction with berries, which was also quite good although the meringue was a little too much after awhile. All in all, an excellent dinner!

Overall Grade: A

thanks for that review. I have always wanted to try Raglan Road but the times were always to late for me....Now I wish I had eaten a snack to tide me over and then go there at a later time
Thanks again for your review

We went to RR in 8/08 and two of my party had the "serious sirloin" which was seriously delicious. I had the "not bleeding chowder" and the Bailey's creme brulee tart.

We went back in 8/09 and what disappointment. :sad2: The steak and creme brulee tart weren't on the menu, and the chowder was packed with salmon instead of crab meat. Not a good meal and I doubt I'll ever get my husband back there.

Great review of Raglan Road! I discovered this place on my last trip and it was sooo good.

can't say for positive, but I think Raglan Road is one of the places that removes the more expensive entrees like steak from the menu during free dining...it was not on the menu in Sept 2009 either, but I read reviews after free dining was over...and people were saying they got the sirloin.
