My Ding Isn't Working!!

Downloaded the new Ding from SW and yesterday got my 1st Ding.When i clicked on it and tried to book airfare for April it said you must go thru the Ding application for this to book..tried 10 x and finally had to call SW as it was expiring in 30 min..she wanted me to call Dallas but I said that with the savings the phone call would be too expensisve and so she called and tried to fix the problem and it still would not work so maybe Ding is not going to work out for me as I always fly SW and their e-mail specials now seem to be taken over by Ding..I also noticed that I did not get the 2 credits for installing Ding, guess I will have to call them back about that also..hope this is going to work out ..Marianne

We won't get the 2 credits until we have Ding installed on our computers for 30 days (per the fine print).

Can't help with your access problem. Hope you get it worked out!

bunnymkc - Can you tell me if you figured out how to book a Ding? I have tried and get the same message you did, about needing to book through a Ding application. Is anyone else having this problem? If you've been able to book - how did you do it? Thanks!

I am having the same problem, too! A friend of mine is also getting that error message when he tries to book. FWIW, I am running Windows XP Home.

I have tried about 5 x and it won't let me book..keeps saying I have to book thru Ding when I am already on Ding!! flyer tlks .com said to install some kind of application on my computer which I did but still dosen't work..called SW but they can't help only would let me book for my April flight (if I GO) FOR 68 BUT IT WAS NOT A NON-STOP..looking to book end of Aug and beg of sept so I will have to call again if I can't get thru the ding ..at least I know it just isn't me having this trouble..good luck to us all..ps I am also running windows xp home edition..marianne

I was able to book thru DING last night for May. I am running XP Pro at both home and work.

All I did was double click on the message, put in my dates, picked my airport and it took me right to the booking info page.

You may be able to book thru the regular ressie screen with the right promo code. I noticed (but did not write it down, sorry) that when I looked at the standard ressie page after looking at the DING page that there was a promo code in the box.

Note: I just rechecked the promo code and I think it may change based upon the offer or airport. Try to use DING and after picking flights, go direcely to southwest.com and click on reservations. With any luck, the proper DING promo code will be in the box and you can try to book it.

My DING doesn't seem to be working at home or at work. I have it installed both places. My office has a Windows 2000 system and my home is Windows XP Home. I don't see it running in the background like I think it should. Any idea how to launch it?

If you have a Norton Internet Security firewall running, you may have to disable it long enough to open the program. That happened to me.
