My three year old, Austin, has always had a problem with croup. Every time he gets the slightest cough, it turns croupy, and it always hits out of the blue. Just a little while ago he woke up with his croupy cough, but this time the nebulizer wasn't doing anything for him. My poor little guy just couldn't breathe, and he was so scared. I was freaking out because he was struggling so much. If my dh wasn't home I probably would have called the paramedics, he was that bad. So my dh just grabbed his medic bag, Austin and headed out the door to the ER. Normally I'm very level headed about these things, but having lost two sons to respiratory illnesses, and considering what day this is, I'm just very scared. I know he'll be fine, but still.....thanks for letting me vent...

I just answered your other post and was thinking of you. I know you can't help but worry. Hope your DH calls soon with good news. I'm up if you want to talk. :grouphug:

Gosh, I remember how scary croup was! Prayers coming your way for your little boy and for some peace of mind for you! :grouphug:

Oh wow - what a day you've had =( I hope that things get whipped back into shape at the ER and he's back at home in bed soon.

I'm 27 and *I* freak out in an asthma attack so I can't imagine being 3 and facing that. Poor guy!!

Hoping for a good update soon. Thinking of you and your family.

My dd Natalie was the same way for 3 years!
Hopefully this is your last year of this!!! I think my dd had outgrown it by 4.
Sending your family good thoughts!!!:goodvibes

My DD is 12 and STILL hasn't outgrown croup - had her worst episode ever last year!!! I hope she is finally finished with it - so far, so good this winter!!! I hope your little guy is feeling better today!!

Hope Austin is feeling much better soon! It's very frightening! I once called 911 at 2 a.m. when darling son couldn't breathe. Paramedics were wonderful, and we were at the ER at 2:45. SCARY!!! Diagnosed him with stridor. :( Thank goodness he's outgrown it since.

:grouphug: Good Luck with everything. I'll keep your family in my prayers.

 I'm sure he will be ok!

I'll be thinking of you and your little guy, let us know how he is doing...prayers are headed your way. :grouphug:

Here's sending good thoughts your way. My DD just seemed to outgrow her croup recently, I know how scary it is!

I hope they're home soon, (or already are), and that you guys can have a quiet day! :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

:grouphug: to you!

My kids get croup easily too. DS4 started with the croupy cough last night. Luckily, last time I took the kids in to the doctor with croup, the doctor gave me a prescription for more prednisolone than we would need so I had extra in the refrigerator. It always seems that the croupy cough appears in the middle of the night.

Saying lots of prayers for Austin. Here's an extra  for you, Stephanie to get thru this day.

Here is to hoping they are all home safe and sleeping after the emotional days they have had.
