My DH is driving me nuts!

Well I need some thoughts on our dilemma. First some information - we have ressies for VWL for May 12-19th, ADRs made and daily itinerary mostly done. We had planned on telling our kids on St. Patricks Day w/a "pot of gold" treasure hunt.

Well NOW DH would like to change our vacation to October - some of the reasoning is valid (;) ) money is tight but he keeps saying he thinks DD4 1/2will remember it more because she would then be 5 years old. I'm just really frustrated w/him because we went through this memory thing twice - once before we booked our ressies and then he brought it up again last October and now again 2 months till we go. He even called DD's doc and the doc said she'd remember the trip.

I'm really frustrated - I've done all the research, planning & making ressies and adrs. Although fun it has been stressful for me - trying to plan the ultimate vacation for my kids! I'd have to start all over again plus take a penalty for the airfare. The good thing is the kids don't know so there won't be any disappointment or tears on their part.

To be fair - DH did start a new job in January of this year and May is in the middle of their busy time. He's a mortgage loan officer so Spring is very busy but hes been a mortgage loan officer for 2 or 3 years so he knew this prior to booking! He seems to think our financial situation would be better then & I do agree w/that but GEEEEEZZZZZZ!

I would welcome any thoughts - I know its our decision ultimately. My concerns w/October are mainly taking DS7 out of school in the 3rd grade- this year he's doing great in his studies w/only 2 sick days so hes in good position to have a week off. And of course Hurricane season!!! May is such a nice time to go! Sorry for rambling! Any thoughts? TIA

Well I say IF you agree you do it with the stipulation that you are adding on the Mickey's Halloween Party - that is so much fun and your kids would love it!

I'm not going to be a bunch of help here.

We've gone to WDW a bunch of times in May and only once in October. On that one October trip it rained every day, most of the day, while we've had great weather in May. Crowd size really was about the same.

That said, the #1 most fun and memorable thing we've ever done at WDW was the Halloween party. I'd love to go and do it again. If you have to reschedule, absolutely add that.

I appreciate your thoughts. If we do go in Oct we'll definitely schedule the Halloween party!

If they offer free dining you could schedule it for the last day in Sept. to overlap into Oct. Free dining is GREAT! You could also catch a Halloween party in there.

Could he be under more pressure than you know with the new job? Men often don't say what is really bothering them. If it is a new job he may be picking up a feeling that vacations during busy time aren't really thought of very highly and while they may not be forbidden they don't win you any points either. Sometimes these type of things aren't noticed until you have been at a jb for a bit. If going in May is going to really bother him and he will be up tight the whole week it may be more fun in October, But I (with you) would hate to take the hit on Airline tickets so it is a hard decision.
