Background to the trip, I was 40 last Sept and had planned to go to WDW for a month to hide from being old, unexpectedly I got the chance to do a postgraduate degree and could not afford to take the time off so this is me belated 40th birthday trip and my first trip in two years, which for someone who often does two trips a year I have had serious withdrawal.

Basics of the plan so far.
Fly out from LWG to MCO on VS015 on 30th Sept.
4 Weeks booked on DVC points at AKL Kidani
Fly back MCO to MAN on VS076 (I was originally booked on the later flight but Virgin cancelled it)

I am flying UC thus the reason I am flying out of LGW as I like the clubhouse, MAN is closer to where I live (South Cumbria) thus flying back in to there.

My trip to LGW is a bit of a trek, I am getting the train form Barrow to Lancaster and then onto Glasgow… bear with me here…. I have always wanted to try the Caledonian Sleeper so I am booked on that overnight to London Euston! After some advice form people on V Flyer I plan to walk to St Pancreas (about 8 minutes) and get the train to LGW!

DME booked from MCO to Animal Kingdom

I have a Disney annual pass and 14 day Orlando Flex ticket booked.

Car hire is with Alamo, collecting a midsize SUV the day after I arrive at Disney car care and dropping off at the airport on flight day. I normally only book an economy car but am treating myself.

I have booked ADR’s at Sanna, Chefs de France, Boma, Trails end, Be our guest and Ohana.
I have also booked several back stage tours for this trip, I am doing, Marceline to Magic Kingdom, Undiscovered future world and Animal Kingdom Lodge Night safari.

Still to book, a taxi back form MAN, train to Glasgow.

Lucky you, sounds like youre treating yourself.
Our trip in August is for my 40th, we are also doing the Marceline to MK tour.
look forward to hearing more. :)

Yes this is a bit of a treat on this trip, mainly flying UC..I made the mistake of "treating" myself a few years ago and now cant think on flying any other way than with a lie flat bed, it really makes a huge differnce being able to sleep (sepecially now that I am old)! 40 really hit me

This weeks activity is that my train tickets to Glasgow are now booked, my plan is as follows.

Finish work at @5PM, travel home and get taxi to station.

Train leaves Barrow at 18:03 and arrives at Lancaster 19:06, then pick up Glasgow train at 19:30 arriving 21:48.

The Sleeper in Glasgow starts Boarding at 22:00 but leaves at 23:40 and arrives Euston 06:48 and I need to be off the train by 08:00.

Not much new this week, I bought and recieved an AT&T nano sim card from e-bay for my Iphone.
On Wed Virgin were supposed to launch their new seat booking service wich has already been delayed once :worried: but announced this week that once again its delayed so back to the 60 days before you fly before you can book :mic: Really annoying since you used to be able to book your seat when you booked the flight :confused3

Been a fairly busy week on the holiday front this week:

Travel insurance booked, I have an annual policy free through my bank but needed to add cover for a pre existing condition (£96!) Ouch since its been stable for over 7 years :confused3.
Travel back form MAN to home booked via Tristar, not the cheapest but good reviews :).
I was feeling depressed (drowning in Uni assignments) so gave in and booked FL Magical Tours to take me form MCO to AKL with a grocery stop rather than using DME like I usually do:goodvibes.
On Tuesday its my 60 day mark so I can pre book my seat for my outbound flight and start on my fast pass bookings :cool1:.
Might not do an update next week as I am working at the Tour De France :artist:
