My DD was at a friends house playing and some new boy was over at the house playing and my DD and him were racing each other. Well... the boy got mad becasue she was beating him in the race and he shoved my DD down and broke her arm. The good thing was it was her left arm not her right arm. She is right handed. So DD was kinda upset with that one! :)

The father who was outside watching them took both my DD's back to grandmas house (I was at work) Grandma said well it will be ok it was only an accident. Which was the right thing to say, well the Father I mentioned above told her NO it was no accident I watched this boy push her.

He (the Father) who was watching his twins and my 2 DD's felt so bad because he thought it was his fault since he was watching them. These are friends they play with all the time, BUT not the boy.....So anyway...MIL referred as (POKIEMOMO) here on the boards called me up at work and my DH was on his way to a meeting at the Sheriffs Dept and he came down to POKIES and picked up DH and took her to the hospital to get it xrayed. So after work I picked up our other 2 DD went home and MY DH and DD didn't get home until almost 9pm.

Long Day....... So anyway what color of a cast did she pick? PINK. Marie's other grandma has a pink cast on, so she wanted pink like grandma I think .

The next day the Father and the twins (from above) where my DD's were at when she broke her arm, they came out to our house and brought Marie flowers, 2 cards, and a pretty necklace. And they signed Marie's cast. I thought that was really kind. These people are very very super people. He even takes them all to the library. He's a stay at home dad, is wife is a Dr.

I just wanted to tell about My mean little boy, he's the same age as my DD 8 and he knows better that's not right to do. My DD said she didn't hit him or do anything because she was in too much pain. ;) I'm sure Mickey wouldn't appreciate him doing what he did. What do you guys all think??

thanks for listening...

Awwww, I hope she feels better soon:D

When my cousin and I were little I was chasing him and he tripped over a root and broke his arm. I felt so bad because it was the beginning of summer and he couldn't get it wet for 3 whole months:( But now we're big and I think he forgot about it:Pinkbounc

Oh, I hope she's not in too much pain and the cast will be off really soon. She'll have a good story to tell at school.

BTW, do the little boy's parents know what happened? I know if my child did something like that I'd want to know. I realize he should know right from wrong at that age but some children are just more impulsive than others. While I'm sure he didn't intend to break her arm he needs to understand the real consequences of his actions. At the very least I'd expect my child to apologize and hopefully learn a lesson from this.

I am so sorry this happened to your daughter! I know it's hard to see the bright side of a bad situation but it could have been worse, believe me. 2 months ago on the evening before we were to leave for WDW I fell and I knew I was hurt but refused to go to the dr. and convinced myself and my family that I had torn ligaments. I woke up with a black and blue arm and a shoulder that was so swollen it would put Popeye to shame but I insisted we go on our trip as planned. It was EXTREMELY painful. What was worse is that I am right handed and it was my right arm that was hurt. I must be truly Disney crazy because with nothing but a sling on my arm I rode rides like Splash Mt. and RNRC! When we returned from the trip and my arm was no better I went to the dr. and he x-rayed my arm and told me I had fractured my humerus (bone in upper arm) and my shoulder bone was pointing in the wrong direction so I had to have surgery and they put a titanium plate and NINE screws (not pins) in my arm. It has been a long recovery process and I still only have about 75% of range of motion and the dr. said it will never be 100%. SO, as bad as it IS at least your dd doesn't require surgery and it's her left arm. You would not believe how difficult it is to learn to do things with your other arm. Minor things we take for granted like washing your hair, brushing your teeth, getting dressed, (and I hope this isn't too crude) but even using the restroom. Also, last summer my 2 sons (7 and 9 at the time) were playing football at a neighbor's house and my 7 year old was running for a touchdown and my 9 year old tackled him and my 7 year old broke his lower left arm (thankfully not the right since it was right before school started) and I had to stay home because my dd had friends over and they were in the pool so dh rushed ds to the emergency room and I had to console my 9 year old because he was so upset he hurt his brother. There was a part of me that was angry and I wanted to say, "Why would you tackle your little brother so hard?" but then again kids get hurt playing sometimes and yes, he meant to tackle him but he I know he didn't mean to break his arm. So, I totally understand why your dd and your family would be very upset with this boy and he pushed her intentionally but he more than likely didn't want her to break her arm. I am wishing your dd a speedy recovery!!!!!!::yes::

I hope your daughter is okay. Broken arms seem to be the norm
around here lately. It's great that you have such a good neighbor as the man who felt bad about the accident. It's so sweet that he brought flowers. I feel sorry for him, from the description of the boy who hurt your daughter, it sounds like it something would have happen regardless of any adult being there.

Thank you all for your speedy recovery wishes. DD really appreciates it. She's a very dependant 8 yo and she is like can you help me tie my shoes can you help me undo my buttons. I feel sorry for her, we were told she would only be in this cast for 3 weeks so hopefully that will be all.
DD and DH and other DD just went squirell hunting. DD the 8yo who has a broken arm just got her 1st .22 rifle. so she wanted to use it. At least she is being positive and not letting anything stop her from being her. :)
Thanks Again!!

Oh I forgot to mention that it seems like every week there is at least 1 child in her class lately with something broken? I told DD that she is now in the "official" cast club :) She laughed and thought that was funny
