We're taking our first trip "home" April 7th at OKW (Home resort is SSR, and we're excited to try every spot, so, OKW will be our first). It's my DD's princess: fifth birthday that week. She's had a rough holiday season, in and out of the hospital, even Christams day :sad2: . I want to do something very special for her birthday. She loves anything Disney, especially the Playhouse Disney show with Jo Jo and the Doodlebops. Yep, she loves the Wiggles too.

I seem to remember that Mickey delivers cake and balloons to some DVC resorts. Is that available at OKW? I know many on this board are experienced, knowledgeable and probably have some very cool ideas for a five year old princess. I'd love to hear them.

My DD is so special to me, her mom and brother and sister. And she's had such a difficult year. I'm open to suggestions from the board. We need some pixie dust for luck and some happy family time in April for our first trip "home".

thanks

We just returned from a family trip to OKW that included my daughters 5th birthday on the 19th. The first thing we did was go to The Disney Princess Tea at the Grand Floridian. It was on the expensive end but worth every penny. My daughter was speachless for most of the time. My only regret was for money reasons only my daughter and I went, and I should have paid the extra for dad to go. Every time we checked in at a resturant they Knew we where celebrating my daughters birthday (I had let member services know when we booked or maybe wdwdine and they put it on everything) and would ask if we wanted to have it part of the meal. We said yes and sometimes it was and other times it was not. My high marks go to Goofy's Dinner at the Liberty Tree Tavern.. All the servers, Minnie, Pluto, Chip and Dale came over and sang Happy Birthday and then goofy comes running in just as they finish because he missed it. Make sure to let the front desk know what day your daughter's birthday is. A cast member gave me this piece of advice and when we arrived back at our room we found balloons and a signed picture of Cinderella wishing her a happy birthday. Good luck and I hope this helps. PS I liked the princess story book breakfast in Norway much better than CRT and wish we booked that for her birthday instead of CRT.

This is only a small thing, but if you tell a CM at the front desk it is her birthday, they can arrange for a 'happy birthday' phone call for her.

My DD and I just happened to mention to someone in the activities department it was my husband's birthday last trip, and when we got back to the room there was a hilarious birthday message from Goofy!

Be sure to stop at Guest Relations and get a "Its my birthday" button! She will get a bit of extra pixie dust from everyone-CM and guests. For my DD b-day, I purchased things for a gift basket and packed them and a soft sided cooler as well as ribbon and cello. When we arrived, I put them together and first chance we had, I left it on DD bed. She also received a Cinderella Photo and balloons from the desk. She was convinced Cindy had been there and left her a prize. We also did CRT. I had a cake and mylar balloons delivered by WEGOSHOP for our private celebration.

I hope this helps you...We are staying at the OKW April 5-12 and it's our daughter's 5th birthday as well. We called the resort and they said that they could put baloons and a card in the room for us. I also asked them if they could purchase a small princess gift, wrap it, and have it waiting in the room for us. The CM actually said to call a day or so before the arrival and we could get everything set up. We are also going to the Grand Floridian that evening (8pm) and having dinner with Cinderella. The CM I spoke to and the person I booked the flight with both highly recommended this dinner.
You could also go to the website (disneyflorist) and order a a gift of disney to be delivered to the room. I hope this helps and maybe we will see eachother at OKW. :cool1:

We mentioned the birthday to ms when we reserved the rooms and there was a package at the front desk at check in . Also balloons and a card signed by mickey and minnie on our door. We also we lucky to get ps at crt for bfast. All the princess and our "host" signed a card and we got a small cupcake birthday cake too. Go to each park and downtown disney and you can get a different "it's my birthday" button from each place.
