She is in her early teens and was "concerned" how private things were? Is the changing area for the showers private? She also wanted to know if there were plugs so she could dry her hair in the comfort / rest rooms? :confused3

I couldnt tell from the descriptions people have give, what he setup was like

The showers are very private. They are set up much like bathroom stalls. You have a changing area, then there is the shower curtain with the shower. Basically think of a rectangle that is divided with a shower curtain. There are outlets for drying your hair, using a straightener, etc. My daughters were young teenagers when we began coming to The Fort and they never had a problem with using the comfort stations.

Yes, for each shower there is a private changing area. It is probably 3 ft by 3ft. with a solid stall door like into a public restroom. There are hooks and a bench if I recall correctly. Then there is a shower curtain separating it from a similar sized shower.

All of this is in the back part of the comfort station. The outlets and mirrors are in the front section where the toilet stalls and sinks are located.

Someone correct me if any of this is wrong. It has been a couple of years and lots of state park bathhouses in between.

AuntBJ you are correct. There's a very large handicap shower in each comfort station too. It's very easy to give your kids a shower or a baby bath in there.

There are plugs, so that she can do her hair, they are on the opposite wall of the sink.

We used them last June and we had no objections. I took both my girls with me and used the shower/dressing area. My girls at the time were 7 and 4. It took some manuevering to not have wet cheeks sitting on the dry clothes, but it worked out.
I felt safe going there alone to shower and did not feel like I was on display.
If she still feels shy, she can always place her towel over the door/hinge area for extra privacy.

The FW comfort stations are nice (heated or a/c) and very clean! I wish all campsites bathrooms were that clean and bug free!

As you walk in there are sinks with mirrors and power sockets, along with the toilet cubicles. Further in there is usually 2-3 shower cubicle (like in the picture) which is divided by the shower curtain but has hard door. There is also a extra large cubicle for disabled/family bathing. My husband takes our 3 young boys in with him! You learn to hang your towel over the door, and there are a couple of hooks which I layer my clean clothes on, in the order I will be putting them on (saves them falling on the floor & getting wet). I also take a plastic grocery bag to put wet/dirty clothes in. There is a wooden bench.

Hope this helps!
