My daughter starts work at Epcot soon !!

DD22 will be working at the Canadian pavilion in Epcot for a whole year, and we are all so excited for her!!

I posted some questions here a while back, but was hoping some of you could help again?

From what we understand they help you set up a bank account done there (as she'll have direct deposit, she needs an American account), but she has heard some bad rumors of Vista banking... I'm wondering if anyone knows any info about good or bad places to do her banking business???

Hi CJ...sorry I don't have an answer to your question...instead I just want to wish your daughter a fantastic year!!! A friend of my daughter did this as well and loved it so much she ended up getting an extension for a short time. After the extension, she went to work on the Disney Cruise Line. She really said it was some of the best years of her life. She now works on a different cruise line and haven't spoken to her for some time now or else I would try to see if she could help. I'm sure some other DISers should be able to answer your question.

Your daughter is soooo lucky - ahhh to be young again and given an opportunity to work for Disney Does she know what she'll be doing yet within the Canadian pavilion? Maybe you could pass along her name so that all of the Canadian DISers that will be there this year could say hello to her from her home country! I always stop in to say hello to these kids who leave their friends and family for a year...they are always so happy to talk to someone from "back home".

Most banks here in Canada you can get US accounts. I don't think it matters what bank you use. They will deposit it in what ever bank you say. Wouldn't they? OHHHHHHHHH and congrats to your daughter on getting a job at Epcot.

MY DD worked at WDW 2 years ago..she was a CM in The Haunted Mansion.

She had no issues with Vista I highly doubt that they would deposit into a Canadian US Dollar acct. Disney do things thier way!

Money (what there is lol) goes in and it was easy enough to take out. She also got herself a cell phone with a good long distance rate to call home and that was also very easy and reasonable.

Congrats to your Daughter! She will have a blast!

My DD (who worked the same summer as Minnie's--Hi Karen!) also had no problem with her Vista account. She kept it as she worked there last summer again and still has it. Now it's come in real handy as we just purchased DVC last month and we'll be using it for our payments.

This past weekend DD talked to someone here in Canada who said that since she finished working for Disney she has had a very difficult time getting her money out of her Vista account, plus had service charges, etc.

Which has made DD nervous...

Hmmm- on my DD's last day--we took her to the Vista branch in casting (or thereabouts)..she went in closed it out-took her money and we left? I cannot recall there being any problems at all.

I was a CM on the program waaaaay back in 97-98 and used Vista Federal Credit Union (we all did) It's set up for CMs and their families. No issues you won't find with any other bank. They will set her up.
