My daughter is ready to buy a room! What do we do?

My little girl really wants to buy a room and decorate it. Are there any special tips regarding this? Should we just buy whatever she wants, and then it comes up under "player's rooms" and then she can decorate it with things we buy?

Or is there more to it than that?

I can't find a guide to having a room anywhere...sorry everyone!!

well rg i see your need of help if you dont no how to buy a room simply click on the shop button at the bottom of the screen and click rooms. after she buys it you go to guest rooms and you click on own rooms, you click on the rooms name then click enter room i hope it helps

All rooms are 500 credits except quest rooms or free rooms.

The Pirate at the Helm Room is free and can be acquired by going to the Kelloggs link in the Players Guide.

There is also a Free Space Room that can be had by playing another game(sorry I am no good at that one so I can not think of the name off the top of my head)

If you want to buy one of the rooms under shops then you just buy it and name it and go from there.

Also, when you registered, you received a room a the beginning. To find it, click the globe, select "guest rooms" and then "my rooms" which lists any rooms you own already. There are many wonderful rooms that other guests have designed. Before your daughter chooses her room and furnishings, it might be fun for her (and you) to just visit some of these rooms to get some ideas for her own.

Thank you all! I had no idea we already owned a room.

She loves to play The Sims because you can spend hours decorating a house, and I think she views this as similar. It certainly seems like a fun and safe thing for a seven year old to do!

Have your daughter (or you) put the room on "friends only". That way people she does not know will not come into the room and bother her.

Just a suggestion.

If she wants to get another room, besides the one she got when you registered, just get a code for a free one on the Kellogg's site. That way she can spend her credits on furniture instead of the room itself. I'm sure there are DISers on here...me being one of them...that would gift your daughter some "house warming gifts" I'll see when you are on and try to meet up with you for a trade.

I just realized yesterday that we have accumulated some friend requests, and I said yes to them...but I really don't know or remember who the people are. Perhaps I should delete them?

I also don't know how to message someone in the game. I find it frustrating to talk in the game because I keep saying words that aren't allowed (like numbers, or even trying to tell someone that I am an adult...it's wouldn't let me use the word adult!)

I know how the vmk dictionary can frustrate a person.

You are limited in messages to the same dictionary of words allowed on the screen. Yes it is frustrating and I use the backspace key a lot to try to re-word. To send a message, you click on the name of the person in your friend list and the button to send message. You can't say adult because they don't want people giving ages or personal information. Same for not being able to type numbers. Of course a new language of numbers has just been created for people to understand. tree=three or whatever.
