Where did the time go?

My oldest child had her graduation ceremony tonight. It was very nicely done and not too long. I almost made it all the way through without crying, but seeing her walk across the stage was just too much for me.

While I'm excited about her future plans (University of Central Florida) I know I will miss the time we've had together. She is truly one of my best friends and I love spending time with her even if we're not doing anything special.

So, now that she's off celebrating at Project Graduation I'm taking a few moments to reflect on her life - thus far.

. . . and what' next for me? DS enters high school in the Fall and starts football practice on Monday. Except this time, I know just how quickly time will fly by.;)

Congrats!! Thats wonderful! ANd now you can go to WDW and visit your daughter at the same time!! :)

Now you can turn her room into something else. lol. Oh wait, thats what my parents did.

Congratulations!!
My oldest graduated 2 years ago...It was so overwhelming and wonderful...
You should be proud mom!!:thumbsup2

Congratualtions and wishing your DD much success at UCF :thumbsup2! I feel your pain with your first ones leaving the nest. We're so proud that it's time for them to spread their wings, just like we've prepared them to do, but our hearts still remembers that little girl we cuddled :lovestruc. Stock up on lots care package items and be prepared for lots of phone calls :goodvibes! Enjoy and have fun with your DS and all the activites he'll keep you busy with! :flower3:

Isn't it amazing? They were just in kindergarten last week and now they graduate high school!
My baby boy - my youngest - will graduate tomorrow night and I've been weepy all week. Hope I make it through the ceremony without embarassing myself!

Congratulations. Time does fly. They are bittersweet moments (is that the right word? lol)

I wish her the best.

Congratulations! You're right about time flying. DS got his driver's permit recently. Wasn't he just a toddler sitting on my lap? :confused3 How does that happen?

Hoping your daughter's college days are fun and successful. And have fun with your son, too!

:yay: :yay: :yay:

Congratulations to your daughter and also to you for all your hard work as her mom (they don't get through school alone)! :thumbsup2

I just went through the same thing tonight myself so I know exactly how you feel. I just keep thinking, OK, what's the next step and how much $$$$$? :rotfl:

All the best to you both,
Shannon

Congrats! My dd and my nephew graduated as well.:yay:

Now they understand what I meant by high school is such a small fraction of your life. My dd was like, "mom, you were right." :lmao:

She worked hard and feels proud of what she left behind.

Thanks for all of your good wishes!:sunny:

Congrats!! My DD graduated last night too! :goodvibes

I almost started a similar thread earlier today!! :surfweb:

My younger DS graduated tonight!!

It was a wonderful ceremony; and just like you said "Not too short, not too long". It was a graduating class of 99 students, and it took an hour and a half.

We're so proud of DS18, he's done extremely well in school, and in the fall he'll be starting at UMass-Dartmouth. :teacher:

But, wow how time has flown... :confused3 The last thing I remember, he was 4 years old and beating me at Mario Kart while waiting for his older brothers to get home from school!!
