She is an 8th grader, and all the teachers on her team signed a letter thanking her for being such a great student, helping other kids, and being a great addition to their classes. It was so neat to receive this letter- what a great idea :)

Thats great! It really makes a difference for kids that age to get kudos from people other than their parents!!

Last year when my DS was in the 8th grade, a teacher took him and another student out for dinner for being such a help in the classroom. He still talks about how cool it was!!

:cheer2: You must be very proud of her. :cheer2:

That's neat! DS had a presentation he did on Tuesday. I asked him if the teacher thanked the kids as they finished up. "No." A little courtesy goes a long way. The kids voted his project the best of the day. LOL! Have to love those food batteries.

That is a WONDERFUL sentiment, for her AND for you! How proud you must be!!!

Give her a hug for me! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Wow! Congratulations, that's great!
At our elementary school, some of the teachers are on the snobby side and probably would never recognize a child by thanking them. I don't even get recognized with a thank you from the teachers for being a mom of special needs twins, they don't acknowledge it. The teachers at our school just think they are great themselves.

Maybe I am not reading this correctly and if that's the case then I apologize but why would the teacher thank you just for being their mom?

OP-that's great, your daughter must have been thrilled. She must be a great kid.

Wow....you must be so very proud to have a daughter that all of the teachers have noticed what a kind, terrific kid she is!! :goodvibes :goodvibes
That was so very nice of them to give her a letter of thanks...needs to happen more often to let those kids know that thinking of others and being kind is truly appreciated!

I must be missing something....why should a teacher thank you just because you are the mom of special needs twins? Have you done special activities in the class with all of the students? Donated things for the classroom? What do you want to be thanked for?

You should be very proud and so should your daughter. :thumbsup2

Thats wonderful. You must be very proud of your dd and I'll bet she is thrilled with the letter. In six grade my teacher went on maternity leave mid way through the year and during that time she wrote me a letter that meant so much to me.
