My daughter encountered first rude person

well actually people. They were making fun of her for having pink skin and for not matching. She had on her sorcerer hat, dreams shirt and blue dress bottom and blue shoes. I think that matches but the one girl told her that her shirt was cheap and she didn't match. Then she didn't believe that she had a blue princess top. I think they called her weird or some similar name but can't remember. It just amazes me at how some people can be. I guess though she will eventually encounter these types of people in real life too.

Just tell your daughter that the Dreams Shirt goes great with any outfit (Which it does!). But from the sounds of it, especially that outfit matches.

Sounds like an encounter I recently had. I was wearing my yellow explorers outfit and my gold mickey ears when this girl approached me and started making fun of me and said my ugly outfit made me look like a newbie. I didn't really say anything to her and apparently that made her upset so she threatened to report me for being mean to her. So the only thing I said was "false reports can get you banned, just so you know." She immediately started apologizing and saying to please forgive her (I didn't know "forgive" was in the dictionary!) and then she said she only made fun of it because she thought that I would get upset about it and want to get rid of the outfit...and give it to her. Yeah, sure, there's a good tactic...

So I'm definitely with the others in that it sounds like a jealousy thing...they probably just wish they had your daughter's items. They just wish they could be as stylish!!

Just when you think you've heard it all! sleeping, as others have said, I'm sure the other player was just jealous of your DD. And I bet that one girl won't still be saying the Dreams shirt is "cheap" if it's still not out again in a few months and the rude offender is looking to trade for one!

Why in the world would you give anything to people that make fun of you?
That doesn't take sense. I would be more inclined to report someone for making fun at other people.

I have given costumes and/or hats to people that come up to me and ask about my outfit but don't begged for it.

Maybe your daughter needs to see what I'm wearing for Easter! Talk about UGLY! Haha! I enjoy switching things up. What's the point in having clothes if you're not going to have a little fun with them? I've worn the Dreams shirt with the princess skirt and shoes and I most always wear my blue Sorcerer hat with the blue princess, so...Now picture that on a green girl! Haha! Not everyone has the same taste in clothing and not everyone is on vmk to play nice. I'm sure your daughter will encounter more rude players as she plays more often. It's sad, but also a true reflection of life. There are rude people everywhere, even at Disneyland...
Give her a hug, and tell her not to let other people's opinions bother her. Everyone is entitled to them, it's just that some people think they are also entitled to voice them.

Aww.. I'm sorry to hear that. to me it sounds like the other player was saying it out of jealousy. I've had many people say tham to me when I wear some of my outfits. Tell her just to ignore them in the future, they apparently just want some attention. And they get their attention by bullying innocent people.

You know it seems I am encountering more rude people. I saw a guest go up to a group of three girls that were dressed alike. All she said was "Hi" they said some sarcastic things to each other about "was she talking to them" and how she was pink and then they pretended to run away and hide and cry because they were scared of her because she was pink. It was just ridiculous to watch. I befriended the girl and told her I liked pink too. Not a good way for a new player to start playing VMK and having to deal with people like that. My daughter changed what her character is wearing. It's sad how our kids can be so influenced by others but maybe now she will be left alone. It's crazy that you can't have pink skin without being harrassed. Our society makes it where you feel like you have to fit in or you aren't anything.

That is very, very pathetic. I do hope you reported them. I hope your daughter feels better, and I think she ought to go back to her original outfit. Tell her that as long as she thinks the outfit is cool, its awesome!

Now that you mention it, I think there are more rude people on today, I'll get ignored if I try and ask some questions to a group of people and there are a ton of people with all the "Not taken" sort of things which really bugs me, because its not a dating site!

People pick fun of me because I am also pink. It's silly. We can be whatever color we want to be. Just curious, how old is your daughter? Maybe we are the same age!

And I am sorry for your daughter's bad experience. It's mostly those public rooms (like town square, blue lagoon ect..) where that stuff happens.

Truly a shame, but I was also ridiculed for being green. I'm an adult, I can take it and usually have no trouble correcting those kids about prejudice. Tell your daughter I would be glad to add her to my friend's list. Anytime she feels threatened, I'd be happy to step in. I was 'born' green, and shall forever remain green. I wouldn't be GreenieMimi if I were blue, now would I? haha!

I would inform that that it's doubtful they have anything that gets even close to the full outfit you described. Maybe I'm mean like that, but it's kind of funny to see them try to express their anger. The word-filter usually keeps them from doing anything major, but they sure do try. I like to imagine that the people on the other side of the monitors face get beet red as they try to type in something.

That's what I used to do before I played less and less of the game.

I had a bad experience today as well. I was sitting in the Esplanade, minding my own business, when a girl went up to a boy and said - you are weird -. I simply said - Hey, be nice.. - and told her that she shouldn't treat other players like that. She then came over to me and told me I was mean!

I just wish that those kids on there would learn a little respect...

I also encountered a rude player the other day. I'm sure its happened to everyone, the Pirates game goes funky and it won't let you move if you're trapped in a cove or something, even though you should be able to. Well, I told my teammater "I can't move, it won't let me" and in turn they called me a dumbo. So I quit.

In hindsight, I probably should've thrown the game instead, just to tick them off.
